If you follow Disney in the business news, many analysts say the theme parks are lower in revenue and operating profit in 2024 and some have said Disney is too expensive. So these sales are not a surprise. Expect Resort Hotel sales all year long in 2025. As for ticket sales, stay tuned. I do not think we will see the same style and length of adult ticket sales at Disneyland but perhaps there will be a ticket sale for adults. The hotel sales bring in on-site guests from nearby and out-of-town and increase revenue and spending on a higher profit margin.

I am really surprised at this. I wasn't expecting ticket sales with the 70th anniversary in 2025
The theme parks are weakening in Disney. They need the revenue. But it is for the winter period. Stay tuned if it continues. No adult ticket sales as of yet. Disneyland ticket and hotel rates are higher than Walt Disney World so corporate needs the revenue.

Yeah, but the 70th Anniversary probably won't start until May at the earliest. My extended family wanted to go in February but I talked them into delaying until December because I'm hoping the 70th is still going on! (And I want to see the animatronic Walt!)

(And I want to see the animatronic Walt!)

I am hoping but certainly not holding my breath that it debuts by December so I can see it. Since I don't foresee another Disneyland trip for at least another 5 years after this, likely for the 75th.

December 2024 or 2025? I should have said 2025, it should be there by then but I do not believe it will be there this year.

Yes I assumed that is what you meant. My trip is this December. I know it is VERY VERY unlikely that it will be ready by then. A girl can dream right?

It is interesting to see these new DLR offers compared to the pretty extensive WDW offers released earlier this week for Jan-April.

WDW is also discounting hotels and some nominal ticket discounts if purchased as part of a package. It's usually always better to buy the components separately for the better room only discount.

WDW pushes packages more than DL. Disneyland seems to offer less than WDW offers in sales. The US theme parks are weak as compared to years past and the international parks are doing much better and adding more to DIsney's profits right now. Disney needs the revenue.

This is a great offer! I know a lof of my family members will be interested. DL doesn't usually get such great offers as DW. I think it's because DL has a lot of demand despite having a fraction of the marketing budget. I think once DL expands with Forward plans the demand and crowds will finally stabilize.

Has anyone tried to purchase tickets longer than 3 days for this type of offer? If you wanted 5 days, would you just buy a 2 day and a 3 day ticket? It seems like it would be cheaper than buying a 5 day ticket without discounts.

Did anyone get an idea last year of just how limited they mean, when they say daily reservations for that ticket type are limited? I'm visiting President's week (Mon - Fri), when both the Monday and Friday are blocked out for the lowest tier magic key. I'm guessing those are the days where they might not be technically blocked out, but only provide a very limited number of spaces.
Saving $100 with a 3dayPH +2dayPH (or even more if only got parkhopper for the 3 day ticket) would be nice, but not at a risk of not being able to go that day.

If we have an existing reservation for that time period, would we re-book using the deal and cancel the existing reservation? I have a room and ticket reservation through Costco if that makes any difference.

Just call and they should apply the sale to your reservation.

Heads up. Last year regular ticket prices INCREASED one week after the early year ticket price deal was announced. Tickets have been going up in October for several years. If you want tickets and might visit next year, today or tomorrow are probably good days to buy. Some of the third party sites maintain a limited amount of inventory at old prices for a couple of days after the formal announcement, but probably not for more than a few days.

I hope I'm wrong, but I might be buying tickets myself in the coming days - even without knowing exactly when I'm visiting yet.

A few things to note

1) Disneyland no longer sells AP/sMK year round so they now have some even slower periods and I guess rather get "ticketed" guests over APs to fill the park
2) Theme parks have been doing fine but not what the owners want this year and doubt next year will have much to draw people back.
3) Attractions for 2025: The Walt Disney show is for hardcore fans, new fireworks could draw people but not as much as a new E ticket. Speaking of E tickets we are getting Splash redone and at least at WDW it did nothing to move the needle, so Disney basically spent millions in hope in 20 years the merch makes up for the fact that Splash did not need this redo because at least at WDW it didn't increase people coming to the parks
4) The Economy. For sure someone will always come to the parks but its getting harder and harder for most people to go on Vacation and as theme parks are pretty slow on adding things compared to when Walt ran the park and could add three new attractions every few years, I feel like there isn't much draw besides nostalgia and if you've been to the parks this year....it will be mostly the same next year on pretty much everything

Anyway, I'm sure Universal will have another deal next year if Disney is because like Disneyland, USH doesn't have a big new attraction next year but don't you worry they will raise prices on normal tickets soon because they are adding so much like...ummmm ummmm new parade (which used to happen yearly but now we are lucky to get a new one in 5 years)

If this is true, would you buy adult tickets now and then add on kids tickets after October 22 when they go on sale? Vs. buying everything together on October 22 (although wanted to wait until after Christmas for budget purposes!!)

Well, ticket prices increased a day earlier than expected. You can still get them at the old price though.

In terms of your question, it's not something I've thought about. I won't be travelling during the child ticket promotion period.

The problem with the child ticket promotion in general is that the base ticket is only valid Mon-Thurs and is one park per day. If you add park hopper plus LLMP plus the Fri-Sun add on, it starts to creep close to the regular ticket price. Also, I typically buy either 4 or 5 day tickets, so the ticket deal is limiting in that regard.

It very well might be worth it for you to buy adult tickets now (some vendors have them at child prices as a promotion) and then buy child tickets later via the ticket deal. You just need to do the math based on what you're wanting to do and when you're wanting to go. If you are okay with one park per day and weekdays, it is absolutely a great deal!
