We had one booked for August 2008 trip, pictures above, we were so dissapointed we downgraded to a standard room. It was on the ground floor and the windows were covered by plants that you could hear scrapping on the glass and the both rooms smelt damp.
We were never at any point warned we could be given bunk beds(I know this has now changed) I was very concerned that one of the kids would fall out of bed and hit the side table (it couldn't be moved) the kids I have learnt are slightly more restless in their sleep when in different surroundings for a few days due to the change in time difference.
Glad I did change to us all in one room as DD did fall out of bed that night!!

Is that at the Portofino? I have seen pictures of the PBH kid's suites, and that is not what I saw. (But I have not been there, so who knows.) We have a suite booked at the PBH in April. If it is anything like what you are discribing, we will not be staying. A standard room would not make me happy. (OK, I would be OK. DW would not be happy.)

Yes this was at the Portofino. I agree it looked like nothing I had seen in pictures when researching before booking.

The front desk could not offer us anything but a standard room no adjoining rooms either.

I think at the time they had just started converting a few of the standard Kid Suite's into the Dr Seuss kid suites, but at the time they were all in the price bracket, not that I would have paid the extra $100 they now charge for a Dr Seuss room as my kids knew very little about the books as it's not a huge thing here.

It has not put me off the Portofino as we are going back in October, but we will just book 2 rooms and request interconnecting.

Any way to be sure you get interconnecting rooms? I really want to stay in the kid's suite, but now I am not so sure.

Anyone stayed there recently?

Thank you for the pics !
we think over ...........and maybe !

Hope you don't mind me bumping. We are considering a kids suite for June, but cannot find any good pics.

Any more pics?

These are a couple of pictures of the Dr. Seuss Suite:

Any pictures of the "plain" kid's suite? At 11, my DS really does not care for the Dr. Seuss theme, so why pay extra?

It seems like it might be better if you just get a regular suite. Here is a picture of "normal" kid's suite:

As you can see they're still a bit childish, at least IMO.

This is what we had booked but our allocated room was the one pictured at the top of this thread.

What a shame! You're children are adorable and they look the perfect age to enjoy the suite you had actually booked. If my children were younger I'd be all over that Dr. Seuss suite! :D

We just want the second bedroom. A regular suite gives you more space, but not the second bedroon. Unless you get a 2 bedroom suite, and that is too much.
