Kids suite or deluxe better for older teens?

If discounts ever come out, I'm hoping to get 2 gv connecting rooms, but my only other options right now are a kids suite with AP rate or a deluxe room with 2 Qs and sofa bed.

DH and I are taking 2 16 yo boys (who will not sleep together, of course! ) - I'm leaning towards the kids suite since it will give us all a little more privacy and 2 showers (and 2 sinks?) - and they would have their own tv - would there be any reason that the kids room would not be comfortable for older kids ?

The last two years we have stayed in a HRH Deluxe room twice and a standard double queen room once. We didn't go with the Deluxe room the third time becuase my 11 year old daughter said the sofabed was uncomfortable. I tried it for about 30 minutes one night and all I can say is it was pretty saggy for me and I'm only 160 pounds. Our third visit we got a rollaway bed and that was much better.

Good Luck !

You need a Kids Suite at the Hard Rock. I just stayed in one for over a week! The boys will love their own shower/tub and sink. My son really enjoyed it. That room does have the only toilet, but your bathroom has a large shower and large double sink area like at PB. Each boy will have a twin bed and plenty of room.

Thanks for the reassurance ! I was also thinking another benefit of the kids suite (over 2 rooms) is that we'd know what time they come in (through our room) and they couldn't sneak back out ! - not that my son would ever really think of doing such a thing - I certainly never did at his age ;) !:smooth:

They can exit their room through the bathroom which has two doors. The second enters your bathroom which has a door that goes directly into the curving entrace way. I think you can trick them though. Before you go to bed go into their bath and lock the door between the two bathroom sections. Then when they come in they will have to come into your BR area. HAHA - we moms are smart!!!

OH, so the main door into the hallway does not come directly into either room, but into a hallway (like at WDW villas?). Not really a 'big' concern for me, but last summer he did meet a whole group of adorable girls by the pool and they all went out to the teen dance club together - great fun for him, keeps me awake and aware:listen: !

I would say for teens a deluxe room. We stayed in one in 2003 and really liked it. Even the fold out sofa was pretty comfy. I have heard in the kids suites that the beds are small not adult size.

Well, I can't seem to get any confirmation on whether the twin beds are 'standard' twins or a smaller 'jr' size, but I did do a little research on room size and the kids suites are listed as being 800 sq feet!! Looks like a regular room is just shy of 400 sq ft and the deluxe is approx 500 sq ft. - 800 seems very roomy !! Even the BWV 1 bedroom villa is only 712 and that is always plenty of space for only 4 of us!:smooth:

We stayed in a Kid's suite and my 6 ft. tall husband and my daughter's 5'10" boyfriend slept in the twin beds - I think they are regular size.

The Kid's suite is GREAT!

Thanks again, Nan !!! - my DS and his friend are both about 5'10" now, but both quite slim, so they will be fine in regular twins- I also like the idea of having two showers and sinks. :smooth:
