Has anyone stayed in the kids suite at Hard Rock.................would love to see some photos other than the one on the Universal website. Where in the hotel are they located (floor/views etc). My son will be 10 and wanted to check they are suitable for that age, he thought the Dr Suess ones at Portofino were too young for him! ha! ha!
Thanks
Debsx;)

We just returned from a 6 day stay in a Kids Suite at the Hard Rock. We are DVC members and were worried about feeling cramped - our worries were completely unfounded. There was plenty of space for my DH, me and our 2 DDs (10 and 8). And the room itself was very nice and well taken care of. We walked away definitely wanting to come back in the future.:banana:

The girls loved the twin beds and having their own room and flat screen tv :happytv:(usually we stay in a 1 bedroom and they have to share a bed, so this arrangement was definitely a bonus for us). The room also has a table and four block chairs. The chairs were high enough that we are all able to sit on them (albeit it wasn't the most comfortable chair I've sat in) - we actually ate our takeout there one night. Their room connected to the bathroom on one end and to the main bedroom/living room at the other end.

When you walk into the suite, you see a hallway or sorts, with a very large walk-in closet on the right, the mini-bar/coffee area in front of you and an entrance to the bathroom on the left. There is also a perfect place to put a mini-refrig (if you are renting one). Towards the end of that hallway is the entrance to the main bedroom and living area. This room is fairly large, with a distinct separation between those bedroom and living areas. The large flat screen tv is between these two area on top of a rather larger dressers, and can be rotated for easy viewing by either or both of the two areas. The living area had a couch and chair and an ottoman that doubled as the coffee table.

The bathroom is acutally two areas separated by a door - the first larger area has a double sink and large shower, and the second has the toilet, a bathtub and another sink. Having 2 places for our family to shower made it easier to get everyone showered in the morning.

As for location, we were on the 2nd floor, very near the elevator (which I came to appreciate when I realized just how far some other rooms were from the elevators) and across the hall from one of the two laundry rooms (the other is on the 4th floor). Our windows overlooked the courtyard that leads to the water taxi. It was a nice view - the courtyard rarely had many people in it, so it was quite quiet.

Overall, I'd rate the room a 10 - we couldn't have been happier with it.

We just got home yesterday and I haven't downloaded my pictures yet. When I do, I'd be happy to email you a couple of them (I took a few shots of the main areas when we arrived). PM me your email address.

They are suitable for a 10 year old, my kids love them. Stayed in them twice for 14 nights, book them, you'll love it.

The suite looks beautiful!!! Very, very cool!! Are they located all over the hotel or just on certain floors? Do they have a mixture of views?

Can I ask what I should expect to pay per night....been quoted $644 (non discounted rate) for March 2011 so far from Universal.

Debsxx;)

We paid $363 a night - this was the Stay More, Save More rate for our 6 night stay.

Wow! That is a great rate! We are staying for 4 nights so hoping for a better rate that the one quoted once the discounts have been announced! The suites look so cool!!

Are they located all over the hotel or in a particular area? Do they have standard/garden/park or pool views?

We have had both views. They are located on corners, so I believe. Each suite has 2 tv's, 2 toilets, shower, bath and a huge walk in closet.

Thank you for the pictures. we are considering this suite also, looks like a good choice. The kids did not appreciate the hotel as much as my husband and I did the last time we went - I imagine it was a far cry from Animal Kingdom Lodge thaat they stayed for the week prior to the Hard Rock. This suite and the fact that the kids are older should make for a more enjoyable stay for all.

I booked the deluxe room and I got a free upgrade to the kids suite with the Hard Rock card! I did price them for my upcoming stay and it was in the low 600$ range (no way). I went with the deluxe room again with hopes of another upgrade (one can dream, right)??? For the Deluxe room, I am paying 279 (thursday) and 314 for a Friday night stay.

Thanks for the pictures! It looks like you can completely close off the kids room from the adults, is that correct? I thought they might be more open, even though they were separate rooms and you couldn't close them off. Its a lot easier if we want to stay up a little later.
