We are not real late-night people, however I would like to go to the bar or piano dual once or twice. Am I crazy to think that my kids my actually fall asleep at the club? They are 4 and 5.5. They have no problem sleeping at daycare, but are not the kind that fall asleep while watching TV. Does anyone have any inspiring stories about how their kids surprised them and fell asleep nicely in the club, so that they could pick them up later?

Uhh, hate to burst your bubble, but my daughter, even that young, NEVER slept in the Club. WAY too much fun to be had playing for her to waste time sleeping. ;)

Of course the second we got to the cabin she'd be out like a light.

A few little ones DO fall asleep, so you never know. But generally you only see a few 3-year-olds laying on the mats and conked out late at night. The other kids are happily playing away, or just resting and watching the movie.

Enjoy your cruise! :)

Then how do you deal with very tired kids? Our kids don't need tons of sleep, but they really need 10-11 hours. If they don't go to sleep until 11 p.m., they will still probably wake up at 7 or 8 a.m. I guess a nap is the only thing we could do. I am glad that we have a veranda, so that I can sit, have a drink and read my book while they nap. Actually, sounds kinda nice!

We did that at both the Poly and on the Wonder. DS 5 went to the club right after dinner each night (we spent days at the Mickey Pool). He usually ate his Mac and Cheese and then DH or I took him over in between our courses. We enjoyed the rest of the dinner with our tablemates.

We would then pick him up from the club later in the evening and let him stay up "as late as he wanted" watching Disney movies while DH and I enjoyed wine of the verandah. DS usually fell asleep quickly after playing all day. :smooth: :smooth: :smooth: :smooth: :smooth:

We generally just sleep in. :) We don't book early excursions and except for the St. Thomas immigration thing on the Eastern last year we were never out of bed that early.

My DD definitely got less sleep than she NORMALLY would (she's 9 now) but she was fine with that. One week of late bedtimes was no big deal. I know it's harder with little ones so I do suggest just letting them sleep in if you've been out very late the night before. Or let them take naps and enjoy your verandah, as you said! :)

Have fun! :)
