have a gf looking for her 8 yo dd some Easter shoes...she'd like either bone or white - or both....her dd has a narrow foot & wears a ladies size 7.....she is desperatly trying to find shoes WITHOUT having to by $50 a pair (which she can find COle Haan, etc)

DO you know of a place that carries little girl looking shoes that come in bigger sizes? Any websites you know of???

I may not understand the question correctly. Your friend's 8 yo is wearing a women's size 7? Are you sure that's correct? I would think she'd be in a girl's size 7.

For children's shoes in different widths, I usually go with Stride Rite (for shoes that will get lots of use) or Payless Shoe Source (for shoes that will only be worn a few times). My kids both have wide feet and it costs me a mint to keep them in shoes.

No...I'm sure she means a women's 7.

My DS 8 wears a woman's size 7 shoe. (Men's size 5-6) which is IMPOSSIBLE to find narrow enough in the men's section.

I had to buy him women's tennis shoes. Luckily they are black pumas and you can't tell, but it is a tough age for shoes. They look like little kids and want to wear little kid style shoes, but they don't come that big.

I think kids are bigger these days than when I was young. My DH is short, and my kids still wear sizes much larger than their ages.

Sorry no advice for the shoes. I would just keep looking in the womens section till I found some. I know some stores have more "junior" styled shoes. I have bought inexpensive shoes at Mervyn's and Fred Meyer's before.

Oh...Idea...

How about some ballerina flats??

There seem to be lots of those out in women's sizes.

My 10 year old DD has big feet, 8 1/2 in womens. I can usually find her something appropriate at Kohls. I have had some luck with dress shoes for her at Walmart, but not so much lately. It is hard to find them shoes that don't have 3" heals!

yes - that's exactly the problem thos awful heels that they put on shoes...

THANKS for the ballerina flats idea - that was my idea to her but she said they don't stay on 'cause her ankle is so small that if she doesn't have a strap (like a Mary Jane) they just fall off of her....

She has found something online that she's just gonna order for the $60 range - but I just thought I's check & see if there were any other stores out there that may have something cheaper...

THANKS for your help!

Just a suggestion for keeping the ballerina flats on her foot. My mom used to sew a piece of deorative elastic on the shoe that would go over the top of my foot. They ended up looking a little like mary janes.
