Kids queuing/riding by themselves?

DD7 went on a few rides by herself this year (Screamin', Silly Symphony Swings, Jumpin' Jellyfish, Astro Orbiters). I won't let her go by herself if the line is longer than 20 minutes or so. We have a designated meeting place and it works out great. She couldn't wait for our trip this summer so that she could go on rides by herself without us :)

Everyone has posted their opinion already, so your mind is probably set, but I'll tell you about my experience anyways!

The very first time I was allowed to ride alone, and by alone I mean completely alone, my mom didn't even stay in line with me, she decided to ride something else, I was 9 years old. And I didn't even speak english, lol. (I'm from México!). We used to comunicate through walkie talkies, but that was it. If I wanted to do something and she didnt, we would go our separate ways and it would be ok. We did this in Disney World, tho, not Disneyland, so it was a bigger park, but like I said, we had no problems whatsoever.

So I think your kids will be ok. Just make sure they have their cellphones with them all the time and that's it. Wait for them at the end of the ride or close to the ride's store. :)
