A couple of years ago we visited Disney and happened upon an event at the Contemporary for Kids (and Kids only) - They had boards of pins and the kids were allowed in and be able to 'trade' for 5 pins off their boards. We are making a short trip ina couple of weeks and was wondering if these functions still existed, and if so where and when? Thanks

Pintrading at WDW is now only once a month from 5-8 PM at the Contemporary ballroom. I believe the kids activities are still part of the event. There is no charge. The next pintrading night is January 25th.

The event you went to was Mickey's Pin Trading Night which is for all types of pin traders and they happen to have a kids only area. Now things have changed and this event takes place once a month on the 3rd Friday and it happens in a convention center ballroom. Last month it took place on a 2nd floor ballroom in the Tower, so just be aware the actual location might not take place in the convention center. So the next time you attend this check the electronic information board and it will say where the event will be happening.

Anyway here are the dates for next set of Mickey's Pin Trading Night to be held at the Contemporary.

Friday January 21st, 2008 - 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM. - Disney's Contemporary Resort - Convention Center.

Friday February 15th, 2008 - 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM. - Disney's Contemporary Resort - Convention Center.

Friday March 14th, 2008 - 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM. - Disney's Contemporary Resort - Convention Center.

Look for the CMs wearing green lanyards on WDW property. Those are kid trading only lanyards. :thumbsup2

I've also seen the boards set up in the Main Street Emporium in the MK, and in various other shops. The boards have a green background and just like the CMs with green lanyards, they are only for kids.

I've found that some of the best pin trading is at the cart vendors. I'm not sure why, but they seem to always have great pins that I haven't seen elsewhere.

The gift store at the Yacht Club has a Board that they bring out once in the morning and once in the afternoon I think around 5 PM. Not sure of the time in the morning.

They had a pin trading afternoon at SSR last May.
We were informed of it at check-in that week.
They set up a huge board full of pins right off the lobby.
