Kids Nite Out review

We used Kids Nite Out for the first time last month and wanted to post a short review. I really debated between Fairy Godmother's and Kid's Nite Out as I'd heard very good things about both. I think I picked Kid's Nite Out because I liked that it was a bit more formal, etc.

Now I am a Child Protection Social Worker, and was comfortable with leaving my DD, 2 1/2, but still a little apprehensive about who would show up at my door. I did specify a female but that was the only request I made. We ended up with a wonderful sitter named Minda and I can't say enough good things about her. She had an early childhood degree and was a 2 year old preschool teacher by day. We ended up talking for a bit and you could tell she loves kids and had pretty much worked with them her whole life. We left instructions of a bedtime and to not watch too much TV and they didn't. She brought a back pack of toys with her and DD had a great time playing and was very sad when she woke up that those toys were gone! She kept a log of everything they did, when she was changed, put to bed, etc. I was very impressed as Minda made some comments about DD personality and development and all her observations were dead on. Fairly impressive for having only spent 4+ hours with her.

I'm a horrible judge of age but I would say she was late 20's. This was good for us as most of DD day care teachers are in their 20 or 30. She came with a cell phone number that we could call to check on her without it being charged to our room and encouraged us to call whenever. I would not hesitate to use Kids Nite Out again and I would for sure request to have Minda again. It was expensive but the time that DH and I had together was priceless if you ask me. If anyone has any specific questions please ask.

Glad to hear you had a positive experience. We plan to use their service in April. Thanks for the review.

Thank you for the review! I plan to call them and make reservations for our March trip.

Thanks for sharing, we keep going back and forth too with which to use and I think we'll be using kids night out when we go in November/Dec. Thanks for posting for us all!

Thans for the review. I haven't booked a babysitter yet for DH and my dinner at Le Cellier in May, so any input is great.

Does anyone know if they have a website? I saw in another post that they do, but the person didn't post the address.

Thanks!

That sounds awesome! We are looking into babysitter options for our upcoming trip in August. We want 1 evening just us adults and are looking into all of the babysitting options!!

These are two others mentioned in a guidebook and they are much cheaper. Realizing cheaper is usually NOT better, especially when dealing with my children, has anyone had experience with these companies?

I think I heard Kindercare is no longer there. I could be wrong, but that's what I remember.

Kindercare is a center for Disney employees that used to take drop-ins, but no longer does.
