Kid's Menu

Are they strict with the Kids menu only being for kids 9 and under.
Looking at some of the menus, I know my daughter (10) will be asking for the kids menu.
She really won't be allowed to order from the kids menu?

As I understand it, if you are paying OOP most places allow anyone to order off the kids' menu (at one point anyway the Italian places in Epcot did not allow it in any case). But if you are using the dining plan, she has to order off the adult menu.

At buffets or AYCE places she will be charged as an adult.

Via Napoli was the one place that wasn't going to let us order a kids meal for my 10 year old. We were paying OOP and wanted to order a pizza for the parents and the 7 year old plus a kids meal for the 10 year old. The waitress says we can't do that. So I say ok the kids spaghetti is for the 7 year old. When we get the food, the 10 year old eats the kid meal.

Honestly, I've been thinking about this for me for our upcoming trip. I'm 24 but I am pretty picky and don't really like my foods mixed. We will be using the dining plan so I'm going to attempt to get a kid's meal at some of the restaurants and see if they will let me do that. I don't really eat that much so even if they give me the kid sized portion I would probably be fine with that.

Think you are referring to TS restaurants, but just in case, know that you can order QS kids meals for anyone.

At 17 my daughter still orders off of the kids menu at most CS restaurants.

At table, it's not likely they will ask if she's 10 or 9, and QS you can order what you want. I swear I have ordered off kids menu at TS just because the adult options didn't sound good.

My DS10 was offered the kids menu at every TS restaurant we went to in December. He ended up ordering off of the adult menu most of the time (the food interested him more), but he could have ordered off of the kids menu if he had wanted to. At places like Whispering Canyon (he wanted the skillet), HDDR, etc., we did put him down as being 10 so we were automatically charged the adult price at those meals.
