Can my 11 year old eat off of the kids menu at a ts if we are paying out of pocket. He eats like a bird and would probably much rather have the "kid food." He will have an adult park pass and be listed as 11 on our hotel room.

In my experience, the servers can be very flexible if you're paying out of pocket. We've also ordered "kids" (and adults) appetizers as entrees and split our plates with kids before because I find the portions huge, especially if I'm planning on hitting up the [fill-in-the-blank for nearest pastry or ice cream shop] later.

This is probably doable at all of the restaurants that aren't buffets or family style buffets. At the buffets or family style restaurants they won't care if your DS is 11 or 10.5 yrs. old or how much or how little he eats, he will be counted as an adult.

Yes, definitely. He would be an adult for any buffet. I was just worried about buying him a $30 piece of chicken off the adult menu, so he could look wistfully at his sister's children's spaghetti. :) Thanks for the responses everyone. :)

It depends on the restaurant. My DD16 is very picky, and when she does eat only eats a very small amount at one time.
Only the Brown Derby allowed her to order a kids meal. She ordered the hot dog and fries. Then she wouldn't even eat the hot dog because she did not like the taste. I think it was an all beef hot dog, and my kids are used to the cheep kind. :rotfl:

A the Plaza restaurant she ordered the grilled cheese and got a larger sporting than the kids meal.
Buffets are a waste for kids like her, but we like the characters. Garden Grill did give her an adult portion of the kid foods, but she. Only ate about 1/2 cup of the Mac and cheese.

At the other TS restaurants, she just shared with the rest of us. No place gave us a hard time about sharing.
