We are going to be taking our grandsons for their first trip to Disney World. I just started looking at the children's menus for the restaurants and they all seem to have the same three choices no matter where you go. Seems a little boring to me. Am I missing something? TIA :confused3

Nope, I noticed it too. It seems I may have to order off the regular menu for my dd sometimes because she actually likes "food"!!!:rotfl:

If you are looking at table service places, that is probably true. But then again, it's true in the real world too. The difference is that you don't eat out every night of the week in the real world. You do at Disney World so you notice the same choices more.

The problem is that if Disney World had specialized items on the kids menus then families would avoid certain restaurants that had things on the menu that their kids absolutely wouldn't eat. A burger or chicken nuggets or mac and cheese or a PBJ sandwich are "safe".

For counter service, it's a bit more varied. There is a chicken wing meal at Flame Tree BBQ at Animal Kingdom for example.

Are you on DDP? If not, how about ordering an adult meal and having them share it? We're on DDP and I've checked our ADR's menus and I think I can avoid having DD8 eat chicken nuggets/strips for our entire trip. Isn't that what CS is for? :rotfl2:

And of course at buffets they'll have their choice of all foods on the buffet.

Regarding TS: Raglan Road has a pretty extensive kid's menu. Kona Cafe at least has grilled chicken, or fish. Mama Melrose has some good choices. Tony's Town Square has less but at least they have fish and of course pizza and pasta.

If you're talking about CS, then yes the choices are pretty slim. Again, if you're not on DDP, I would order them an adult meal and split it. Sunshine Seasons in FW at Epcot has some different choices.

HTH.

My 6yo nephew only eats about 3 things (pizza, PB&J, cheese sandwiches). :rotfl2: I had similar fears and we are a vegetarian family. He was just fine on the DP eating the kids meals. Be sure to book some buffets where everyone can eat any and everything on the buffet.

Might be good to do a few buffet meals - that will give your grandson more of a choice.

When we were there, my son did really well at buffets because you could get a variety of things, also the chicken nuggets are really good wherever you go. I thought that we would have a harder time with the food thing but he did okay. Also, Some CS's have a lot of variety like Sunshine Seasons at EPCOT.

Due to the limitations of the childrens menu everywhere, not just WDW we do let our neices/nephews order off the adult menu. I can't see having them eat the same stuff for 7 to 10 days at a time, just doesn't seem healthy imo.
