I, like many others, are disappointed with the offerings on the kid's menus at WDW. Other than the buffets can any one suggest some restaurants where the kid's menu isn't chicken nuggets and hot dogs? Trying to stick to 1 ts places. Thanks!!

Tony's Town Square in Magic Kingdom has an Italian menu with ravioli and pasta choices. Last time we ate in "Italy" in Epcot it was Alfredos and they also served pasta dishes for the kids. I suppose any Italian restaurant would at least offer something besides the usual burgers, dogs and chicken nuggets.

We have not eaten at all the Epcot World Showcase restaurants but they must they offer some variety beyond the typical American kids menu.

As a family of four we order an appetizer and two adult entrees to share at TS and at signature our kids will usually share one entree and we still do an appetizer for everyone to share and our two adult entrees.

This way they are free to order whatever they want and portions are so huge it is still more food than we would typically eat. We don't do the dining plan as it is too limiting especially for children.

I have 2 adventurous hearty eaters who have been to WDW 8 and 6 times. We generally do the buffets because of this issue if we go on DDP. But we pick the unusual ones like Biergarten, Boma, Tusker House to offer variety.

My children liked Nine Dragons for their egg rolls or dumplings, lo mein and meatballs and ginger ice cream. It was okay for us but they were happy. :)

I agree TS kids' menu choices are usually pretty sad! The buffets do help as they at least offer salad & fruit choices, but I hate having to keep getting up from my meal to refill plates. Family style places are a nice option, like Ohana or the Garden Grille.

Almost every (if not every) table service restaurant in WDW has more on the kids' menu than just chicken nuggets and hot dogs.

In most cases there's some form of meaty macaroni or baked or grilled chicken/fish option. Le Cellier even offers a kid's steak.

Edit: some examples... exluding hot dog, mac & cheese, hamburger, pizza, and chicken nuggets

Yak & Yeti (AK): Egg roll, vegetable lo mein

50's PTC (DHS): Grilled fish, grilled chicken, meatloaf
Mama Melrose (DHS): Grilled fish, grilled chicken, pasta with tomato or meat sauce
Sci-Fi (DHS): Meaty macaroni

Coral Reef (Epcot): Seared Mahi Mahi, Grilled Chicken Breast, Meaty Macaroni
Chefs de France (Epcot): Pan roasted flounder
La Hacienda (Epcot): Beef/chicken tacos, nachos
Le Cellier (Epcot): Meaty macaroni, grilled steak

and so on.

There are lots of places! Check out allears.net. I remember my kids had a meaty macaroni at Coral Reef (there is also a fish option), Sanaa has a naan bread pizza, Via Napoli has pizza too, Rose and Crown has Cottage Pie, Le Cellier has steak, kids can get hibachi at Teppan Edo, - most TS places have standard kid entrees as well as some other options like grilled chicken or fish, or a pasta dish that is not mac and cheese.

As far as QS, I can't remember many of the meals off the top of my head, but I know for sure that there are several pizza options (pizzafari in AK, toy story pizza planet in DHS, pinocchios in AK, chicken legs in Sunshine Seasons and I think Cosmic Ray's - maybe some other places, I think there was a burger at Pecos Bills...)

As mom to 3 kids who don't especially care for kid food, I know exactly where you're coming from. However, it really isn't that hard to find decent kids' options at Disney restaurants (at least at table service - we do the deluxe plan and seldom eat quick service so I don't have much experience on that front).

Epcot is really the best for that, because most of the World Showcase restaurants have at least 1-2 ethnic choices in keeping with the "theme" of the restaurant. Rose & Crown has shepherd's pie, fish & chips, and bangers & mash. Tutto Italia has spaghetti and a pasta in cream sauce. San Angel and La Hacienda both have tacos, plus San Angel has quesadillas and La Hacidenda has nachos. Nine Dragons has sweet & sour chicken and beef lo mein. Teppan Edo has hibachi chicken and shrimp. Tokyo Dining has tempura.

At Magic Kingdom, Liberty Tree Tavern has their "Thanksgiving dinner" (as my kids call their turkey entree) on the kids menu and dinner is family-style so the kids can get "adult" food. Tony's has spaghetti & meatballs and ravioli w/alfredo sauce. I don't know about dinner, but at lunch CRT has a kids' portion of their beef pie that my kids really liked. The Plaza doesn't have anything really unique (I miss their kids' chef salad that isn't offered any more!) but the kids' menu mirrors the adult menu with a cheesebuger and turkey sandwich.

Animal Kingdom only really has Yak & Yeti, which has veggie lo mein and egg rolls on the kids menu, plus "chicken bites" that are basically their sweet & sour chicken with the sauce on the side.

DHS is the tough one if you're sticking to one credit choices. 50s Prime Time has meatloaf. Sci-Fi pretty much only has kid-food, though their cheeseburger was pretty good according to DS. Mama Melrose has spaghetti. But the one my kids like best is two credits - Brown Derby has tempura fish, BBQ chicken breast, and a "grown up" grilled cheese (according to my 9yo, who likes grilled cheese but not if it is of the Wonder bread and American cheese variety).
