I've been perusing the kids menus on Allears. The choices look worse than WDW's! :rolleyes1:rotfl2:

A few restaurants at WDW like Sci-Fi at DHS for example offer a full meal with dessert including. Nothing like that listed on the DL menus.

Which (not including character meals!) eating spots are great for kids? Any stand out in particular?

I remember my girls getting a kid's meal at the Tommorrowland Terrace (sp?) that was pretty good. Can't remember it all but I remember thinking it was good for them and not a bad price. I don't know when the TT is reopening though so it might not matter.

DL just doesn't have dining like WDW. There are far fewer Table service resturaunts. The DLR's have to compete with dining establishments outside of the park. Also because of the short trip lengths they don't provide as much variety there. The selection gets better in the 50 year newer DCA and at the resort hotels. Generally eveything is only geared to having lunch. At resort prices how can they push people into eating fancier meals when the competition is a walk away?

Carnation Cafe has the peanut butter palette for kids, which comes out on a painters palette and has little cups of raisins, marshmellows, etc. and they make their own sandwich, it's really cute! :goodvibes

How very true!

I guess we can do some meals off site as well. Having to get into DLR planning over WDW mode.

Redd Rocket's Pizza Port (in Tomorrowland) is a good choice with kids, not only because they have stuff kids like but because they also have stuff adult's like - and they are pretty fast.

They have pizza (cheese, pepperoni, and a couple others); spaghetti w/marinara sauce, spaghetti and meatballs w/marinara sauce and shredded parmesan cheese, and chicken fusilli that is to die for (pasta is tossed in garlic flavored oil, then they add a parmesan/pesto cream sauce, and I think there are some bits of sun dried tomato in there also - and shredded parmesan cheese), and they have an array of salads with and without chicken.

My kids love the kids meals at the Plaza. Also they've enjoyed kids meals at the Hungry Bear, Rancho del Zocalo and the Mexican place in DCA. For the most part, though, we purchase regular meals and split them up.

Yeah, the kids meals at Disneyland pale in comparison at WDWs. That was one of the neat things about WDW- so many great food choices. After about 5 days at Disneyland, all the food tastes the same. This trip we are trying some new places at Disneyland and will stick to some old favorites too.
