Hi all- a quick question... I will be going to Disney (Pop Century) in 17 days, it's myself and 2 DDs, ages 11 and 13. The 11 year old looks 11, and the 13 year old looks 17. The 13 year old will eat not much else than chicken nuggets and fries when at a restaurant- she has a very small appetite, and is not very adventurous. The 11 year old will try anything at least once, and has a good, healthy appetite. Ok, onto my question- will I be able to order off the kids menus for my 13 year old? (remember- she looks older than 13) If not, can I order off the kids menu for my 11 year old, and them have them swap plates? I'm not trying to be sneaky, I just don't want to waste a bunch of food (or money). Is there a policy on "plate sharing" at TS restaurants? (Obviously, CS wouldn't be a problem).

TIA!

My 12 and 15 year old always order from the kids menu. They are both Autistic so that might be a reason they do it but I would give it a try;)

If you're paying OOP it won't be a problem to order a kids meal for either child. Even my 30 something BIL ordered kids meals when he went with us :rotfl2:

even if you're on the DDP, most places will let you order off the kids menu (they will charge the adult table service credit for it though, since both your kids would be on the adult plan. some places will actually bring an adult-sized portion of the kids meal when you're paying for it with an adult credit.)

We were on the DDP last trip and my kids paid adult prices but ordered off the kids menu a couple of times. They didn't mind. I even ordered a dessert off the kids menu!!

Thanks for the replies- I have decided (after much thought) to NOT do the DDP, largely because of my first post- my 13 year old eats like a bird. I have also recently cut my food intake (as an overall eating healthier life plan) so maybe not "like a bird" but I bet I eat close to half of what I used to. My 11 year old and I could probably share an adult meal, and my 13 year old would be more than happy with a kids meal. I just hope that isn't frowned upon, we want to go to the Sci Fi Diner, and places like that.

Disney wants you to be happy :) Order what you want and you should be fine. Sometimes you may encounter receiving an adult portion of hte item with an appropriate price tag, but you should be able to get your kids what they want :thumbsup2

No one will care. Even if you are on the DDP. You are not trying to get and adult meal for a kids meal price. You are just ordering what you like to eat. Enjoy!

Sharing a meal is not frowned upon at all. Most (if not all) will split the meal in the kitchen and it's brought out on two separate plates. I will warn you that they usually will give each person a sharing an almost full portion of whatever side you ordered.

You can also simply order an appetizer for your main meal. I used to do that all the time. Just ask that it be brought out with everyone else's meals.
