Has anyone had good luck with getting vegetarian options for their children while at WDW? My good friend and her daughter are vegetarians and she's concerned that her DD will be stuck eating grilled cheese every night. They are on the dining plan. Has anyone had luck getting some alternative options for their kids? Like a side salad as a "kids meal"? Any restaurants in particular that had some good vegetarian options for kids? Thanks!

For quick service her daughter can order off the adult menu. For table service she will have to order off the kids menu. If she can’t find something she would like they can often make accommodations to something already on the menu. Read menu beforehand to searchout good veggie options, they are out there. My daughter enjoyed the spaghetti with meatless meatballs and steamed broccoli at 50’s as one example.

If you're not on the dining plan you can order anything you want off the menu for your child, so a side salad as an entree would be just fine. Also you can always talk to the chef but since kid meals are loss leaders they may not be willing to do a "cheap kid meal" that is vegetarian off menu... but there may be appetizers and adult entrees that appeal.

I would not recommend the DDP for vegetarians anyway, the vegetarian options are not a good value $$wise on the DDP. You need to be eating entrees in the $30 price range as adults and they are really in the $20 price range for vegetarians. The money thing doesn't make sense.

But if they are set on doing the DDP I'd stick to the buffets, there will be plenty for both to eat there.
