Kids meal portions versus adult meal portions. Anyone have pictures?

I'm trying to decide whether or not to upgrade my 8 yr old to adult dining for our September free dining trip. It looks like it would cost just about $35 to do so.

We did a quick 2 day trip last month, and I think I remember seeing the kids' hamburger at Pop and how small it was compared to the adult burger. (Even think that maybe I went ahead and got him the adult burger because I didn't think the kids' one was big enough, but I can't remember.)

Also, we ate at Columbia Harbor House, and he got the kids' chicken nuggets. I think I remember that they weren't the same pieces of chicken breast nuggets as they had in the adult chicken nugget meal - that his were more like pressed nuggets and mine were better meat.

I'm thinking that if the $35 would provide him with more variety, better quality food, and larger portions, then it'd be worth doing it, but I'm wondering if anyone has a better memory than I do.

Are the kids' portions on some standard things (like hamburgers, pizzas, etc) a lot smaller than the adult portions? Anyone have pictures to compare them?

And will the adult meals be better options when compared to the same thing in a kids' meal (like the chicken nuggets that I think I remember not being the same) - or are they the same exact food but just a smaller serving?

Thanks in advance for any help!

No pictures, but for the amount of $, I'd do it. In fact, I did it when my dd was 8 and 9. She simply preferred adult entrees to the child ones.

I don't have pictures but I can give you an example. We went to Narcoosees my 8 year old son git the kids steak. I kid you not, it was about 5 bites. He was starving after he ate.

If you child doesn't like the usual kid fare, Chicken nuggets Mac n cheese type stuff, then I would upgrade to the adult. Some of the restaurants do offer more than that on the kids menu, but it was still a little to bland for my kiddo, plus he can't have cheese either and it seemed almost everything had cheese.

Yeah, he doesn't like macaroni and cheese or hot dogs, and so those are two kids' menu options that I've seen that I know he wouldn't want. Combine that with the smaller portions, and I think we might be better off to go with the adult upgrade. Plus I figure that for certain adult meals that are way too much food for him, he and I might be able to share one and that way save a CS meal for another day (since the plan doesn't provide 3 QS credits a day).

Thanks for your input!

I would upgrade. I find the kids portions too small for my 4 yr old at times (especially the chicken nuggets). It's also the variety. There are several places that only offer uncrustables for kids. If you want to eat there and your kid doesn't love uncrustables, there is no other option. I'm concerned about it with my 4 yr old on my next trip frankly. I decided that the adult portions are more than I can usually eat on my own, so I will split a meal with her when her options aren't that great.
