Kids in Princess dresses at the parks?

I think the dresses start at size XS (4/5). We always get them a little big so they will last for a while. I don't know if your DD2 will fit -- depends on the size of both the dress and the DD! :)

Thank-you for this thread! I'm now washing the Princess dresses and will pack them to go. We're in Canada and they have lots of Princess outfits at Wal-Mart (some in kids clothes dept @ $24.99 and some in toys @ $19.99). My dd won't need a new one as long as she's got her 'Briar Rose' costume.

I have a question....I have 2 dds, one is 4 and one is 2. We're going over Easter (I am SOOOO excited!!!). Anyway, my 4 y.o. has a Cinderella dress which she will wear to our b-fast at the castle but we are also doing the PSB b-fast Easter morning. Would it be weird for her to wear her Tinkerbell dress to it even though she isn't there? Also, the only dress/costume my 2 y.o. has is Minnie Mouse from the Disney Store (from Halloween). Will it be odd for her to wear that to the Castle or PSB? She won't care what others are wearing as she is too young to "get it". Thanks for any input.

I think they will be great in Tinkerbell and Minnie Mouse costumes. It really doesn't matter -- as long as they are happy and feelin' the magic! :thumbsup2

As far as where the dresses come from...for us it has never mattered. I bought my dd a Belle dress from Big Lots that she wore for Halloween 2 years ago. That was what she ended up wearing to CRT. There was a little girl in there who's grandma had bought her Cinderella's wedding gown - the dress she wears in Cinderellabration -complete with crown, shoes, gloves, etc. She said she liked my dress so much better and asked where I got it. I told her Big Lots and she about flipped. That Cinderella dress was $95 alone!!!! My dd was proud as punch to just be dressed up and she has no clue if it came from Main Street or a yard sale!!!!

Have fun! princess:

I agree! At Disneyland, anyway, they will do great in any kind of costume. The Princesses are so good at saying things like "Oh, you're wearing my friend Ariel's (or whoever - fill in the blank)'s dress" etc. And the kids don't care where it came from!

My parents took my DD and I when DD was 3. Princess Jasmine was one the newest princess at that time and very popular. I bought her one of the Princess Jasmine outfits at EPCOT, and she absolutely loved it. She wore it everyday for the rest of the trip. Even after we got home, she wore it everyday. During our trip, we met Esmerelda (from Hunchback which had just come out), and DD apologized to her for wearing Jasmine's clothes! :rotfl:

I've wondered if my twins will be big enough for a Snow White dress when we go. They will be 19 months. One is average size, but the other one is quite small and has a tough time gaining weight.

Actually the smallest size is XXS which I got for my dd when she was 4 (she was the size of a 2 or 3 year old). My older dd has worn her Tinkerbell costume to CRT and it was fine. Once you get started on these things though you can't stop. I now have to ship their dresses ahead of time because we have to bring: Belle, 2 Cinderellas, Snow White, Tinkerbelle, Ariel Princess Bride, Aurora, 2 Minnies, 1 Mickey. I don't pack the shoes though they just wear white sandals because those plastic shoes are too tough to walk in. They just wear them for the meal and then change back into shorts and t-shirts after. I think I'll be sad when they stop wanting to wear them!

I was just cleaning out my younger DD dress-up clothes and found a size 2T Arial dress, that we bought from the Disney Store years ago. So there are out there. My younger DD has always been on the small size and has trouble keeping weight on. (She has had several Dr. appointments where she lost weight between the appointments.) With that said is my memory is serving me well I think we got her the 2T Arial dress when she was 3 years old, so that size might be a little big on your smaller daughter, but a lot of these dresses have a lot of elastic so it won't be baggie on her just will have a lot of growing room. ;)

I suggest going for comfort if your DD agrees. My DD, soon to be 6, is a princess addict princess: but will only wear dresses that are comfy. She has a few Disney princess dresses but always opts to wear her generic pink princess dress when given the chance. :sunny: When we went to CRT last may for her 5th b-day she was thrilled in her non-Dis princess dress.

I have seen everyone posting their pictures and I think its precious!!! Unfortunately my DD8 is a tomboy, so I wont be able to see her dressed in a princess dress .. actually when we went to WDW last year, she bought a Buzz Lightyear costume while there :rotfl2: :lmao:

I have been 3 times to WDW and our fourth will be this week and I havent seen anyone dressed up, maybe this will be my lucky time.. I think its sweet..

Hi there! We were able to secure CRT reservations for our trip this year. We will be taking along some dresses that I bought online. I thought I would share the link. They aren't the fanciest dress out there but they are nice enough. My daughter loves them!

I can't post a url but go to disney shopping and do a search for royal princess dress up set.

You can't beat four princess dresses and accessories for 29.99. :)

Actually I have 3-12m and 12-18m Disney store costumes of Belle, Snow White, Cinderella and Aurora...if you don't catch them at halloween you can search the internet for them.

Alright! :thumbsup2 I searched and found Snow White infant dresses. Now if I can just get DH to cough up the cash for 2 of them.

Kids are just too funny. Ya never know what they are going to like. :lmao:

I think they will be adorable in their dresses!

My girls will be 9 and 7 when we go in December. There will be no wearing of the Princess dresses for us. My now 6 year old says "Princesses are for babies". Whose child is this??? :confused3 I was hoping she'd still be into them but I guess not.

Oh that really is too bad. My girls are almost 10 and just turned 6. They are both excited to do the Bibbidi Bobidi Boo Boutque this year and get Princess dresses to wear in the parks. I know this will be the last year my oldest will be willing to wear a Princess dress. (I am kind of suprised she still wants to now.) So that is the major reason I am willing to do the expensive Bibbidi Bobidi Boo Boutque package this time, because it might be my last. So when I say my heart goes out to you I truely mean it. I know I want my girls to grow up but it is bittersweet when they move on to a new stage in their lives. :grouphug:

okay excuse my ignorance, but what is the bibidee bobidee boo boutique? TIA!!

This is a cut and paste from a DVC email I got about it. I believe the opening day is April 4 or 5th.

The "Bibbidi-Bobbidy Boutique," opening next month as part of the enhanced World of Disney® store at Downtown Disney® Marketplace at the Walt Disney World® Resort, is turning little girls into Disney royalty.

Princesses-in-waiting choose from the Coach treatment (hair style and shimmering makeup, $35 plus tax), the Crown package (hair style, and shimmering makeup and nails, $45 plus tax) and the Castle experience (hair style, shimmering makeup and nails, plus a complete costume with accessories, starting at $175 plus tax).

Thanks Tandy R! too bad my DD has no hair yet :) just a few tufts that fly around wildly...oh well maybe next years trip :)

This sounds like fun! DD4 will love it. She already has her own princess dresses and will have her nails done before we get there so she will just need the hair and makeup treatment. She is such a girly-girl and loves this kind of stuff! :cloud9:

Thanks for sharing!
