My daughter has only had her hair cut at wdw. I need it a tad longer for Halloween, then have 4 days to go to wdw for her cut (feasible but stressful) and she (3 years old) suggested she get it cut ON the cruise.
So give me prices!! And do they have pixie dust? Etc.

Good question! I need one of my girls hair longer for Halloween, too! But we're planning on cutting it afterwards. Might be fun to do it on the ship!

The new ships have the BBB, but I don't know if they cut hair.
But there will be plenty of pixie dust.

Sounds like fun, I'm sure she'll love it :)

One caveat though... if she'll only get her haircut at WDW, you've got one heck of a precedent to follow through with as she gets older! Unless you live next to one of the parks, you'll have quite a drive every 8 weeks! princess:

ETA - I just saw your avatar, about being 40 miles away from WDW. Guess that's not too bad. If you lived in say, Seattle, it might be a tad more difficult :)

We almost named our daughter seraphine! :)

Are children allowed in the spa area whern the salon is? I didn't think they were, but I could be completely wrong on that.

The spa is for guests 18 and older. The Fantasy and Dream have the Chill spa for teens 13-17

BBB does NOT cut hair, they only style. And BBB is only on the Fantasy.

I don't believe a child that young would be allowed into the salon. I'd stick with the plan to have it done at WDW after the cruise.

I've read many posts about children getting manicures etc.... Why would hair be different?

I wasn't aware children could get manicures other than at the Chill Spa for teens. The adult spa is for ages 18 and over, since the salon is located inside the spa, I'm assuming it has the same restrictions. Maybe someone else has a different experience. I'm just going by the ages posted by DCL for the spa and the fact that DCL is rather strict about ages for most things - 18+ means adult, kids clubs means kids (with some leniency there for kids in the "border" ages of clubs). I'd be interested to hear if the salon is open for children - my DD always gets her hair cut at MK, too, but might like to do it on the ship if children are allowed.

Kids can get haircuts at the salon portion of the Spa.

We were on the Fantasy on September 22 - 29 and I realized that DS needed a haircut (for those family photos). I went to the salon on Saturday and was able to get him in for a haircut for that same afternoon/evening. I went in around 5 and we booked it for 5:30 (just so we could watch us leaving port). He is almost 11 and the fee was $24.

The salon is beautiful - the entire bank of windows let us see where we were able to watch us sailing out into the ocean.

Can't help you with your question about pixie dust...but kids CAN get a haircut at the salon.

On Dream and Fantasy, when you walk into the area, the salon and nail services are to the right and the spa/fitness services off the hall to the left, so kids aren't really in the spa area anyway. I know an ice cream Mani/pedi has been offered for little girls in the past but not sure what age range. Glad to hear they can accommodate haircuts for kids, and even at a reasonable price.
