We fly with Virgin - as far as I am aware there is no choice.

My boy was sound asleep when his children's meal was delivered, he wouldn't have eaten it anyway...it was chicken 'thingies' , potato 'bits' (like oven crunchies) , carrots and peas I think.

I ate it and to be honest it was horrible, would not recommend it...the 'thingies' refers to very small amounts of meat surrounded by large amounts of batter....yuk

To be honest even though we have flown 10 times with them this year's food was the worst we have had.

No choice last month i'm afraid Nat. A few chicken 'thingies' as Johnny described, plus a mini-pizza slice, some fries, yoghurt, juice and a chocolate dessert. To be honest I would take your own snacks and if the kids manage to peck at a few bits of what the airline provide it will be a bonus.

DD ate her meal, I seem to remember baked beans. However, the sandwiches in the afternoon are a waste, we had a choice of cheese & onion chutney or coronation chicken! The second time we flew I packed her a dairy lee lunchable - yes I know its not exactly nutritious, but she saw it as a treat & I didn't have to put with a tired & hungry 4 year old!

Yes, I always take Lunchables on a flight (which I dont allow normally) so they are seen as a "special treat". Though the kids meal my DD got with BA last year was outstanding and she scoffed the lot!! Still ate the lunchables as an afternoon snack as well though!!

The last meal she had with Virgin was an adults one (when she was 2) as they "didnt get my request for a kids meal" :( Fortunately, she liked the chicken sludge and mash concoction, but I would ALWAYS go prepared with enough food incase they dont like whats on offer.

Perhaps we've been unlucky, but we've flown with Virgin 4 times and on 2 occasions they didn't know about the kids meals we'd requested! Also, in 4 return trips, dw who if a vegetarian has always been given a vegan meal! Vegans eat almost nothing!!! This is despite numerous calls to VA to confirm a vegetarian meal has been ordered and not a vegan one. We'll see what happens this year...

Nope we wasnt given an option, Chelsea last year received a kids meal, which entailed some chicken thingies, potatoe thingies, and I think what we call Baked Beans..but they had gone O.T.T on the baked, the whole thing was baked to where it could of been baked no more, she didnt eat, I had a taste, and I didnt eat it, we take snacks on board (although I dont eat on the flight at all, nerves and sickness)...
