We're reconsidering having a separate Kids Party for our Reception and just having them at the Reception. We want to give the kids a separate favor from the Adults and are already going to include a Branie Baby Size Mickey or Minnie, Personalized Mickey Ears, Personalized Autograph Books and Pens in their Welcome Bags. What would be a cute Disney themed Favor that the little ones would get excited over that isn't candy? Any help on this one would be greatly appreciated( also they would be 7 and under of age).

How dis you set up your kids activity tables and what dis you include to keep them occupied and decorated? Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thank you.

We had a children's activity table at our wedding. I bought Disney board games, books, bubbles, coloring books/crayons, and a few other things. I dropped them off with the rest of my wedding things and Disney set everything up. I had Disney make a whimsical lollipop topiary centerpiece for the table. It was beautiful and matched the decor but the children loved it as well. For favors we had the chocolate Mickey ears for the kids so I'm not much help there.

Thanks for your idea. Your kids table sounds like it was a huge hit. It's alright about not being able to help on the favor side. Did you let the kids take home the lollipops from the centerpiece with them?

I think with cake, Mickey Ice Cream Bars, and a dessert party later in the day it will be more than enough sugar. I'm afraid after it's all done with we won't be able to get our own son to sleep, and don't want my sister or other cousins with kids killing us for over sugaring their kids. I know we will defanitely have the Color Wonder Coloring Books with the markers for the kids. You now have me on search for Disney Games to help keep them occupied. Thank you. I may have to look for some Disney toys that they can keep( I know the girls will be easy with the Cinderella Barbies, the boys will be a challenge). I was going to put together fun bags for each of the kids so there's no fighting and they each get their own(it will have their names on it ).

I know the kids won't get the adult favors. As we're placing scrolls inside the Cinderella Slipper Place Card holders to serve as both and the scrolls are to note to the guests we've made a charitable donation in their names. I know the fun bags should be more than enough and kind of a favor in itself, but We all know kids love presents and favors. They're all just a little too young IMHO for pins.

I think I came up with an idea for a kids favor but I guess I just need to figure what to put them in and how to present it to them after the Reception. Since I am planning on having characters at our reception and for pictures is making copies of a Mickey, Minnie, Cinderella, & Prince Charming autograph card or photo for the kids to get their autograph on (and one for us too as a keepsake to place in our scrap book), and have someone take a picture using our camera to get a picture of each kid with the characters. I was thinking of either purchasing a portible digital camera printer and bring it with us to print those pictures out on after our VR or go to CVS (or other Drug Stiore, target, or Walmart) and print them out. Question is what do I put the pictures and Autographs in? I don't want to buy too expensive albums, but think it will be a nice favor for them. I may have to see with WP if the characters can't sign autographs at the reception if they can have them do it ahead of time.

Any ideas of inexpensive albums to hold 8 pics would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, the children took the lollipops and the coloring books as well. I got a bunch of Disney games at Disney. There was Disney Candyland, chutes and ladders, Stitch trouble, and a few others. The children took the chocolate favors with them so hopefully they didn't have too much junk. I know they wouldn't have wanted the adult favors.

We did welcome bags as well that we gave out at our welcome dinner (instead of trying to get them all delivered to resorts). If I could do it again I wouldn't waste the time or money on the welcome bags but that is just my opinion. We got customized totes for each room filled with a "bear necessities" kit, fresh baked cookies, customized water bottles, etc. I think the guests enjoyed them but I definitely don't think they made that much of an impact compared to other things. We drove so were able to bring everything with us but if flying it is a lot to pack.

Thank you again for sharing what you did for the kids. Our welcome bags won't be that overfilled. Luckily we're driving instead of flying as well so we can bring everything with. We are also planning on handing out welcome bags at the Welcome Party too.

I hope I didn't offend you over he lollipop question. Some people just use them for decoration and others would include them for the kids. I had a friend have an all candy themed party with her centerpieces made of mini candy bars, but the parents went irate if anyone took the candy off of them(b/c of the cost yo make each centerpiece). If I did offend you I am sorry. Your ideas are great btw.

I am trying to think of ideas to keep the kids happy considering I could have a separate kids party in another room, but don't want the kids to miss out on the characters or make it a hassle for parents(us included) to get he kids up to the kids party.

If you nip over to the 'Creative DISigns' board, some of the girls over there have lovely autograph pages with a picture of the character on and you can print them out and have them bound (eg. spiral bound at Staples) and add extra pages for photos. That way you can do a personalized cover for each child. Let me know if you need any help with the covers as I have been known to dabble over on the DISigns board myself.

Oh I wasn't offended at all. I am glad I could help. There are photos in my trip report of the childrens table. We were in the Whitehall room so we had the room and the patio. The childrens table was on the patio so they could run in and out and the table was right by the door so they were never far from their parents. I think this worked better than having a separate party...cheaper too. Let me know if you have more questions. :)

Thank you so much for the suggestion. That was actually what I had in mind was printing out a 4x6 picture of an character autograph page and a 4x6 of the kids with each of the characters. I was going to see if I can find either Cinderella (for the girls) and Mickey(for the Boys) or even something with a picture of both couples and the kid's name on it 4x6 either little brag books or albums (if not just get the little brag books that I can take out the other covers out of and actually your idea of personalized covers is a great idea to slide in and put the pictures in. The spiral bind might take too much time(and I hope nobody leaves Disney before I can send the little ones home with their pictures and autographs. Our son will be in Kindergarten then and I think it might turn into a Show and Tell piece. We're not going to tell any of our guests about our "Surprise Guests" knowing the kids will go wild.

We could think of a Characture Artist for them or a balloonist, but we all know kids love to see Mickey when they go to Disney and we will let them have a chance to do so. Not to mention it will make a nice keepsake for my mom and aunts and grand. Parents to have a group pic of the Grandkids/Great Grandkids together with the characters.

I will most certainly let you know if I need help (which I may) designing the covers for the little ones. Thank you so much again for the idea. I love it.

I will have to ask

I read your whole TR last night and how beautiful. Your kids table looked awesome. I haven't been able to see many pictures of the Whitehall Room
to even realize it had a patio. Genius idea having the kids activity table on the patio. It does make a lot of sense having it out there so the kids can run around. Maybe a few lollipops wouldn't kill the kids and at least if we change our reception to the either brunch or lunch the kids still have time for naps and normal bed times even with sugar in their system. Your idea could actually work quite well to keep the little ones content. Thank you.

We were trying to think of ideas for the kids knowing they wouldn't understand a scroll saying we made a donation to Make a Wish or March of Dimes.
