Sorry no one answered you. I don't think there are actually a lot of ebayers on this thread, so I am sure they just missed it. I could really see using bought patterns and modifying them. Putting different bodices to different skirts and such.

What did you find out? I haven't made anything more complicated than a pillowcase dress (and I don't e-Bay), so I couldn't answer your question... but I'd love to know the answer.

I have been "overlooked" too. I just figure this thread moves so quickly some days, a single post is easy to get lost.

Besides, lots of us are moms here, and we've all been ignored on a daily basis when the men or kids in our home hear, " the dog needs to fed, or walked, trash taken out, clean your room, are these clothes dirty on the floor?"

Also, I know places like youcanmakethis.com sell patterns... is that what you ebay sellers use? I just want to make sets for my kids and not sell them. I sell other stuff on ebay.

I don't sell custom outfits on ebay. I'm like you and I sell other stuff. I've been working for 3 weeks on making my twins custom Wiggles outfits for the show in August. I've worked daily, and I'm still a few weeks away from being finished. I would have to sell an outfit for a $1,000 to make me feel like it was worth my time.

I learned how to make appliques from Mytwotinks. I make my own applique patterns. It isn't hard to do appliques - to me it is time consuming because of the satin stitch outlining.

I like to use Simplicity Easy Sew patterns.

I think we've all been passed by at some point, but I don't think it is anyones intent to make anyone else feel left out or not part of the group. I am new to this all and it took everything in me to sew from a pattern and make my daughter a halter style top. I see the stuff some of our pro ladies post and I suddenly feel so inadequate! But we are all here to learn, so I figure at some point I'll be able to catch on and grab some pointers.

I love your summer outfits for the princesses! What fabric did you use for the Snow White cape, inside and out? Was it detachable? I'm just wonnering how hot it gets wearing it and did your daughter mind it on her shoulders? I'm making a set of Snow White, Aurora, and Belle for my DD7.

Can you show us the picture? It sounds like the one I made. The cape is cotton knit, front and back. And it is reversable. Just hooks over the head. I used a Simplicity costume pattern.

Okay experts: I am making bows to attach to flip flops but I can't figure out the best way to attach them to the shoe. I'd like the bows to be removable but if I put them on hair clips they may scratch the feet. So what do you guys recommend???

Has anyone seen the "Fabric Art" panels at Wal-Mart?

I assume they are on clearance here (although not by much just they had red tags), one of our Wal-Mart has a ton so I'll probably go back and buy most of them even though I have no clue what I'm going to use them all for just yet.

I bought one of each kind and am basically planning on making a shirt with the panel in the middle. My DD is 13 so need something a little older looking for her, plus she umm...wants me to do Villian stuff and that's not exactly easy to find. The panels are basically the Princesses but they have Toy Story, Nemo, Pooh bear too.

She actually wants me to do rather sarcastic Villian stuff too (she has a weird sense of humor but I think it would be funny to do too. ) -- such as Jafar saying "I love Aladdin" or Scar saying "Simba my favorite nephew". We have a while so I haven't really started anything and I'm not that skilled at sewing.

I'm going to try and make a red shirt with the Aurora panel since it happens to be what I have on hand. We will attempt the Villian stuff later (anyone do anything with the Villians?) -- Our Wal-Mart had iron Disney stuff so that's my method of starting out. Hee Hee but no Villians to be found.

I haven't made any flip-flops yet but I am thinking about starting some and here is what I have seen.

If you have wrapped the plastic pieces of the thongs in ribbon you can add your bows with swing back pins (just like you would for a shirt). This way you can switch out different colors if you wanted to.

I wrap my ribbon (dry) around dowel rods then bake them at 225 for about 25 minutes. I have some that are 2 years old and the curl looks just the same as it did then.

Baking them... they are really use to make... I also had hubby make me a "Korker Box" to hold them in place while making the bows.

I have made tons of korkers and never used starch. I have heard it makes a terrible smell when you cook it. Good luck!

As for those of you who asked about my DD Christmas dress, I did not make it. I am a crafty person, but can't sew anything! My mom made it and except for the blue snowman buttons, it is perfect. She did not use a pattern but did advise me that you could use a pattern for the top of the dress. Then just add long strips of fabric. Thanks for asking!

Thank you!! I used the directions that were posted here on the board from the girlie things website. I layered them and played with the tails until I liked the way it looked. Then I hot glued on the bottlecap. It was pretty fun to make.

Okay ladies. Here's my first ever attempt at making a fancy bow. Please critique it for me. This thread has brought out the crafty urge and I've very left brained so it's not easy. Please give me an honest opinion of what you think. Would your dd wear it? How can I improve?
