Do you sell your outfits? I would LOVE one for my DD! You should sell them, they are beauitful!

Me too! You guys make me sick! My walmart had none of these dresses!

I'm with you!! Both of the ones close by only had the navy and orange. :(

By the way...the Cindy outfits are great and I LOVE what everyone has done with the Wal-mart dress. I finally had a small amount of time to get DD's "minnie" pillowcase dress done...I'll post a pic when I can.

Here is Kiera in our disney custom. We loved it.

This looks just like a dress I have on order from ebay. Is that where you purchased this? It is really cute in the little girl size. The seller posted photos of an older girl so I wasn't sure how it would look on DD2. Do you have pants to match?

ok everyone I am offically fed up with my computer. i can not get my camera to transfer pics to my pc anymore. :confused3 I will be going to my mom's on thursday and will post pics then. I have finished the walmart minnie dress for DD4--it has a minnie applique with the hat and daisy and at the bottom I have a solid black band with white ruffle and red pom poms and on the black in yellow print it says I love Minnie. the i has a daisy for the dot and the i's in the minnie have buttons. Not bad for a first try and everything is hand done--no machine here. I also turned the kmart overalls into a dress and did them up with black lace and tiger fabric. i have the word wild on the back. i still have to do DS1 outfits to match but this hand sewing is for the birds. However if I got a machine i would have no idea what to do with it.

Keep with the good work everyone!

Sounds wonderful, though I can't imagine doing all that work by hand, lol.

Just wanted to also point out that there are a lot of easy ways to learn to sew....if you're not the "study a book and learn it myself" type, then look for classes from your local fabric/craft store, sewing machine sales or repair stores, community classes through your recreation department (or a neighboring city's rec department), etc. The classes are usually 2 hours once a week for 6-8 weeks. They'll teach you how to thread, adjust and maintain your machine.....how to do the basic sewing and often you'll make a small project, like a purse or skirt (or in the case of a quilt store class they'll have you make a simple baby blanket). You sound like you'd have a great aptitude for these classes since you already know how outfits go together, it just works faster by machine! You can buy a decent machine for around $100-150 at Walmart (depending on what you want it to do, I recommend the $150 machine because it has more features that you'll probably want later on).

If you can swing the cost of the machine, the class is a small committment of time which, though I know we parents are always short on that, will pay off in the long run because you'll be able to complete projects so much quicker, thus paying back that time used for a class.

Can't wait to see your photos!

Kohl's has a pink w/ white polka dot dress with white bows on the shoulders.
($10.00 yesterday) Does anyone do pink Minnies? We do both. Love this thread!!!!!!

Ok, ladies I need some help. DD8 is a huge Jasmine fan, and I'm afraid our December trip will be her last for wearing princess gowns, growing up and all that :sad1: . I'm surprising them with a trip to BBB on the night we're going to MVMCP and I want to also surprise them with beautiful dresses to wear, instead of buying them there. Not to mention, handmade would be unique and more comfy. DD6 loves Cinderella, so that's no problem. But, I can't find anything for Jasmine. Sure we have the two-piece costume, actually we have three of them I think. Like I said, she's a huge fan!

Anyone know where I can find a pattern, ebayer or someone to make one or give me ideas on how to embellish an existing something? I really want to surprise her with something special. I thought of having one made using the Cinderella pattern or even Aurora, but make it out of purples and gold. :confused3 I really would love your opinions!

Here are some outfits I made for DD and her BF when we went in December. The idea was to do a winter inspired Jasmine outfit.
Anyways, the girls loved them and they looked great and not so hard to do.

Like another poster said, it wouldn't be hard to take a basic dress pattern and do a sheer overlay of fabric and add beading or other embellishments.
BTW, they both wear a 10/12.
I make all of DD's things because she still likes to play dress up, but they don't make costumes really for that size.

I bought all the fabric at Joanns around Halloween because they have great sales on costume fabrics. There is bead fringe at the waist and then I also used different silver trims.
I used a regular clothing pattern that had a cropped top with it, just lengthened the sleeves on it and made the pants a little looser fit.

Thanks so much for the advice. i will definatly look into classes. Right now money is really tight---still adjusting to being a stay at home mom (1 income) and DH lost his job a few months back (new one now but it still hurt us). So a machine will have to wait a while--- I could ask my parents for one for my birthday in September. That wouldn't help for making outfits this trip but for next year---if we can swing the cost to go. NEway I am rambling---I just wanted to say thanks and I will post pics in 2 days!!!!

Those are darling!!! DD8 would love those!!! I'm going to see what Dena can come up with, but this is definitely going to be an option! I don't sew, but that looks easy enough for someone that does!

Oh so cool....how'd you do the DIsney font, is it free hand or one of those fancy expensive embroidery machines?
The disney font is actually an embroidered scrapbook sticker from Michaels. I just glued it on with fabic glue. LOL.
I bought a few of these, because they could really come in handy. I think the sticker costs a few dollars.
