I would like to offer you all a challenge:

We all have outfits with Minnie dots and Mickey shapes and printed fabrics. Everyone has shown some really great stuff...except for me because I haven't learned how to post yet. (LAZY!)

Now, what about an outfit for MGM? This so far for me is the hardest park to theme an outfit around. I loved someone's Rock n Roller coaster outfit...very cute. But what about one that is just themed on the park? Like maybe a movie star outfit? Any ideas? I would like to hear from you all to get my imagination going.

Last year for MGM, I had a "Minnie Movie Star" outfit made for my daughter. Here is a picture:

Minnie is on the top with star-shaped sunglasses on like a movie star!

I'm making my DD8 a High School Musical outfit, DS6 either CARS or Incredibles and my DS1 a Monsters, Inc. outfit. I had wanted to make my DD a shirt with a strip of movie film on, but I'm not that creative:confused3

Okay, I'm going to try to make the picture larger. I'm new at this!

We'll see if the picture is any larger this time. If not, I'm so sorry!

Okay, any tips on how to make my pictures larger when I post? I'm linking the picture to Photobucket, but I really don't know what I'm doing (obviously!)

I have a question about this....I didn't know there were "points" Is that like demerits, and if you get too many you are kicked off the DIS?:scared1: I'm not upset (don't sell anything from here on e-bay, and even don't know how to do links or post pics:) ) I'm just curious. does this include when we PM someone asking them if they sell on e-bay? Just curious, thanks! I always assumed PM's were PRIVATE, are they moderated too?:confused3

LOL -- what happens in PM stays in PM. We don't moderate your private messages -- and I can't read them either. You can discuss ebay all you want there -- just keep in mind that there is no remediation for any deals that don't work out. I'm not saying that there would be any troubles here, but in the DIS history I remember a story about a sale or trade that went bad. I think we've got a great bunch of people here (and so talented to boot) but I just had to give the warning.

I love the idea of a challenge. I actually was thinking of trying to applique a blue sorceror hat on a t or something, but I love an old Hollywood type of outfit. Hmmm..... I actually, just today, got around to cutting out the skort for my dd's RnRC outfit. I'm having to morph 2 patterns to get what I want, but I hope to be done in a day or 2. I'll post pics of the finished outfit.

That brings up another question though.... How do some of you manage to get so much done in a day and still take pics and post, etc? I love my kiddos, but they seldom go more than 4 minutes without asking to do something or get them something, etc. Eventhough I don't stop what I'm doing every time, I do have to stop to listen to them before I tell them they need to wait for a little bit.

Y'all do realize I am blaming you when I get "the LOOK" when I start yet another project. I like the 50's PT outfit idea. We are going there last day so I can jazz her up big time. I am thinkin' Poodle skirt with some sort of cute character shirt..........OH WAIT WAIT>>>>I am blinging a store bought Pluto-T shirt that I was going to wear that day anyway(gotta love rhinestones) How cute would it be to do a skort to match? Kinda copy the Pluto on the shirt or find a pic of him walking so I can put the leash thing on him. (like a real poodle skirt) Hmm ???? What color to do skort...the shirt is a dark (yet bright) blue and the lettering on the shirt is in red. Should I do it in red or pluto yellow. Thinking the red would be easier to find (fact I think I have enuf in my material box) but the yellow would look cute too. Help!
I am not going to poof it out or anything fancy (assembly time and comfort for her is a must) Something she can wear around the park all day is good.

I could even do the gauzy scarf the girls wore in their hair. See you all are gonna get me trouble...LOL

Sorry the images are so big but, For the mgm studios I was going to put this design on a tshirt and then make cars shorts (or jeans decorated with cars since it'll be December),

and for my daughter use either this:

or this and make corresponding flare capris. Does that sound like a good idea?

Okay well that makes sense! Thanks!

LOL! My DS has a store-bought Yoda t-shirt that says "Size Matters Not."

I've been surfing this thread for about a month now. I've never sewn in my life, but you've inspired me to try. Actually made a few cute things yesterday. Now I can't stop. I made a simple Nemo halter style dress, and an adorable Mickey top. As soon as I have enough posts and learn how to post pics, I will!

I asked recently about patterns ... well, I went to the eBay Discussion Board on Handmade/Custom Clothing for Kids and the ladies have been very helpful. I have been en ebayer for almost 10 years now and this is one of the rare occasions of an ebay forum that people aren't too vicious. I didn't have to post because most of the questions were answered there anyway and they didn't ignore inquiries. lol... Go take a look.

You all have done incredible work... love your creations! :)

That is super cute!! I'm brainstorming a Cat in the Hat outfit now for our upcoming trip. I'm just having a hard time figuring out what to make for a baby. She'll only be 15 months when we go.

In your previous post you mentioned a kite w/string. Is there one on the outfit or are you describing the fabric?

she has a kite applique on it that she made with a kite string sooo cute Its on the other side of the skirt. DD was not in the mood for pics today, she wanted to play

Welcome Karrie. Can't wait to see what you've made.

I didn't even know that eBay had discussion boards. Hmmmm... more boards. Is that a good thing, or a bad thing? Hmmmmm...

I went to JoAnn's tonight and bought the Tink shiny flannel-backed fabric for pajamas. I really want to make a patchwork skirt next, but I had a 50% off coupon so I figured I shouldn't "waste" in on the skirt (I figure I need several types of fabric but only a small bit of each, right?)

I had trouble telling my DD why she wasn't allowed to sleep with "my new teek-uh-bell blankie" though! LOL! She didn't want to give the cut of fabric up! Hope she likes it as pajamas!

They also had the same fabric with a light purple background. And another shiny flannel-back Tinkerbell with a darker blue background (that one wasn't as "little girl" looking IMO, though.)

Thank goodness for MOM!!! She's working on some appliques for me right now. She loves to take care of Kirsta. They do everything together.
