Okay, off topic, but not apologizing, since there isn't much talk going on and my best friend and I are so curious now,

Do you guys include a little letter about the family in the christmas cards?

I used to LOVE reading the ones we got when I was kid, still would, just don't get any. But I was at the library the other day and I was signing my cards (storytime but the kids were watching a movie after) and I was talking to the lady next to me, I mentioned how I couldn't even think to write a little note. Kids eating cookies and drinking juice, other moms talking and teens from middle school behind came to sing and were eating and talking too. But she said to me, I hate getting letters anyways, who has time to read them.

So, I almost didn't send the ones I had planned. Now Dallas is 4, doesn't go to preschool or anyhing so my letters aren't like a let's brag about what he does. He doesn't do anything! What is your honest opinon about them? Do you like them? Do you send them?

I don't celebrate Christmas, but my husband does. When we first got married, several of his friends sent letters in their cards. I really loved reading them. I am so disapointed that now there is only one, sometimes two friends that sends the letter every year. He is horrible about keeping up with his friends, so this is the only way I know what's going on with them! So, if you happen to read this, and you are Brian's friend (from college or wherever ;) ) SEND US A LETTER!

Brian has written them up a few times, but he has never sent them out. He rarely gets his Christmas cards actually INTO the mailbox! :confused3 One year they were all addressed and everything! I told him to send them the next year, since they were all ready to go!
Nope! You guys don't bore me at all! My dirty little secret is that I nap every day when Dallas does BUT I thought I would stay up and finish his outfit. I am so used to doing it that I can barely make it through a day I don't nap!

Naps are nice! It seems that I've been needing one every day lately myself.
No bike riding for me, it would be almost all highway and I don't even like to ride on busy neighborhood streets. I'm a big chicken.

I bet Steph is alright. I think the tornado hit East of her. It did take out a minimum security jail. They had temporary buildings set up and it took them all down. Displacing about 200 inmates (they were able to get them evacuated into the permanent building before it hit) that will have to be dispersed throughout the state until they figure something out. CRAZY!!

OH have fun at WDW Ali, I'm so jealous!!! I miss WDW.

...t.

I saw the jail on the news, it looked like the classrooms we use to have in school that we called "the portables". I thought that was really odd for a jail!

Hi Guys!!!!!

I'm just finishing up my Disney Quilt top!!!!! I cut each square exactly 6 inches and used the exact same seam allowance yet my square corners don't always match up exactly... I was SO careful too. It's because I'm often using different fabrics like reinforced knit, flannel and some heavy jeans-type fabric in the case of the Winnie the Pooh. SO, luckily I'm going to tie the corners with yarn knots so no harm done.

It's SOOOOO cool! I am at the stage when I'm trying to decide what backing I'm going to use and boarders and yarn color. When I lay it all out, I see the purple and teal and lime a lot. I'm kind of anxious to get it done! I'll try to get Misty to post a pic for me....:flower3: She gave me a TON of fabric squares last night when she came over as I had just squares lined up on the living room floor. She made it much bigger    YAY!

Clutterbug- CUTE photos!!!! Thanks for sharing them!

Everyone- Thanks SO much for sending all the squares! I'm thrilled at how many cool and unique ones I received!!!!! I'm overwelmed at everyones' generosity!!!!!!!

OOOH, I can't wait to see pictures!!!!!
ok, so I was not as productive as I would have liked this weekend. But the house is super clean, so I guess that is something!
Here is the girls new years outfit. that material was not cheap, but it was the nicest looking one that was silver/grey. I made the girls both the same and they will put turtlenecks on underneath. it will be cold at midnight! oh should have ironed this before I tool pics, but it will get all wrinkled in the suitcase anyways!
And nicholas has a pair of pants and 2 sweatshirts he can put over his outfits when it gets cold at night. have to get some more outfits completed. I have a pair of overalls that I am not sure what theme to do... Thought of something nemo.

Cute cute cute!!!!! Those are so adorable!!!

I went on a totally out of character cleaning spree yesterday. VERY weird for me!
How did ya'll sleep through that? When I was up at 4:00 in the morning the weather said the worst of it was headed north of us so I was worried about T. Glad everyone made it through ok. I was up all night long listening to the storm and then of course I had little visitors who needed comforting. Then the kids and I tried out a new church, went to a birthday party and decorated the tree. I am truly exhausted. And I (stupidly) told Megan I would finish her Ariel fleece jacket for school tomorrow.
YEAH!!! You guys are ok!!! I can sleep easier tonight now!

Sounds like you had a busy day! Get busy on that jacket now! We need to see pictures!

Both sets are very cute, but I love the New Years set. the material was worth every penny! Did you make or buy the tee?

I made the tee. I used a mickey font, but the material was difficult to work with. When I put on the heat n bond and put an iron to it, it melted a little to the shirt. so the 8 is not so fabulous. but for one days wear it will be just fine

I have not had time to start any new projects. I keep buying the stuff for them though :) I have good intentions, but I keep getting side tracked. It is like my scrapbooking stuff. I have everything under the sun to create beautiful scrapbooks, but no completed books. I call myself as scrapbook accessory collector

This sounds just like me! I have tons and tons of scrapbook stuff but never once made a page yet!

Hi Everyone...well I finally graduated from school. I'm thrilled. Now I have to find a real job...LOL... I have been sewing my fingers to the bone. I made Alexis a dress with way too many pink ruffles, and I made a gorgeous blue Cinderella dress for her to wear on her 5th birthday vacation. I have pictures of Ireland in it, but it wasn't finished yet. I will post pictures tomorrow or Tuesday. The Cinderella dress still has to be hemmed, and buttons put on the back, but I spent a fortune on the fabric and I love how it came out.
I hope everyone is making it through the storms. We had 70 mile per hour wind here and lost a few pine trees, but thankfully no one was injured and no major property damage..I love all of the vacation pictures...especially DumDum....too cute

Congratulations! :cheer2:

Now, I will pat myself on the back, the grinch is DONE! I'll take a picture and post later, I have left off the eyebrows and need an opinion. Dallas wanted a nice grinch and was happy with it, he wanted to sleep in it! DON'T THINK SO!

The pants are done minus a face for max, so guess I should get working on it. I need to find my white pen thing to draw on the fabric!

It is such a relief and now I have to go back to organizing, cleaning and make my house all neat and pretty, can't stop every few minutes anad read the thread! Although I need to go back some pages and see what I missed!

And I haven't even had time to mail mine yet! I have some cute Star Wars flannel & was saving just for you.

Don't worry! I think I want anther row at the bottom so it'll be BIG. If not, I'll have to put a big boarder on it to make it as huge as I want it. So you can totally send em, whenever :flower3: I'm not going to put it together for a few weeks. I need to find just the right tie and back color which for me is a monumental decision...I can't even pick out paper towels or shampoo without taking forever :3dglasses

Spongie just left and I spread it out on my Queen size bed for her to see and it needs another row. She loved it and tomorrow we're laying out all her squares on my floor and seeing how it looks. I will take pictures for everyone.

And my family is already fighting over it so I think I'm going to be making at least one more Disney quilt to keep the peace. I love the hunt for new fabric....anyone else have this love??

Yay! Star Wars is my boy's favorite :yay:

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone think I could get a pair of men's XL pajama pants out of 2 yards of material? I cant make it work - the man is longer than he is wide - meaning XL is for the width and the length,,,,,any ideas on how I could lay this out would be great - or, do i just have to scrap it!!

thanks, wendy

Gorgeous!
Can I just say that I love my musically eared and tech minded hubby!!! His mixed Christmas CD's are the only thing that get me through the marathon cookie baking we do every year. I just listened to...1. Ave Maria-Chris Cornell 2. Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree-Brenda Lee (I LOVE HER!!!) 3. Oi To the World- No Doubt 4. BBBBBlue Christmas-Porky Pig 5. Santa Baby-Madonna 6.The Hanukka Song-Adam Sandler and Run Rudolph Run- Bruce Springsteen. That was only the beginning of the crazy 3 disk Christmas compilation. It's so great cause it's old songs new songs, new songs, old songs sung by new people... Traditional songs and FUNNY songs. It is just a really great mix and we don't have to listen to the songs the radio stations play OVER and OVER.
Somewhere on here is Cartman from South Park being poked by a cattle prod as he sings Silent Night, Which is funnier than it sounds...

...t.
You also need:"Baby It's Cold Outside" not the Jessica Simpson version though and something by Josh Groban

I love to listen to this one station that plays tons of XMas music all day. I'm just very glad that they haven't played the barking dogs Jingle Bells song yet this year

Very cute!!! I have a feeling we are doing what we usually do on New Years....absolutely nothing!!!:sad2:

Okay, off topic, but not apologizing, since there isn't much talk going on and my best friend and I are so curious now,

I love the letters but I love the pics even more....in fact what's the point of sending a card and signing your name if you dont tell me anything at all or include at least one pic :rotfl: ????

Ahhh haaaa..... don't you just love  "snappy naps" as we call them around here!

Hi Guys!!!!!

I'm just finishing up my Disney Quilt top!!!!!
I cannot wait to see the finished quilt Wendy!!!! :thumbsup2

Not yet, but it's starting to pile up! Brian got home an hour ago, and I don't see his footbprints anymore, and the roads are SLICK!!! People are actually driving SLOW! How is it over your way?

Heather just landed at Ohare. She is staying the night at a hotel there. I'm hoping she gets home ok!
I am soooo glad Heather got home safely and all is well. It raining and windy here but that's about it!!! Take care if you go out!!!!

She can be a real sweetheart when she wants to be but these days the whining, the bossiness, and the flat out tuning out to anything she doesn't want to hear or do is getting old. :scared1: My personal favorite is being told "how" to drive my car by someone who can't reach the pedals and has no clue.

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: hilarious....though I am sure you are not laughing right now!

Your wish is my command!!
We had a wonderful trip. The weather was gorgeous.

Are any of you writing trip reports??? I can't wait to see pics!

Okay, I hope I have these all resized okay. Photobucket is giving me fits.

The obligatory picture of DD at Minnie's sewing machine. No custom on this day, unfortunately.

Awesome outfits and pics....you all look so happy! :santa: :cloud9:

The only picture I have that shows the lightly decoupaged capris that I made for me.
th_PICT0083.jpg
I have to say I did a double take at this pic....you look just like ME!!!! I'm not kidding!!!!

I also have some beautiful shots of the castle with the holiday lighting if anyone wants to see those.
Oh YESSSS!!!! Please do share!!! :santa: :woohoo:

I need some help! Where can I find 2t SHORT sleeve tees. Plain white tees for a girl? Target and Walmart do not have them!!
If you have time to order, there's all kinds of places online if you do a search. I have very little local shopping so I order online a lot!!! :rolleyes1

Cindee is ok :) TONS of leaves on the cars and in the pool. But that is about it. I slept thru it. Tonight we are supposed to have a freeze warning (Hello I moved to FLORIDA for a reason :confused3 ). Just inthe last hour the temp has dropped abou 10 degrees.

Did Heather make it home ok?

Hi everyone. I am a lurker and sometime poster. I have been going through some of my fabric and found a piece I thought someone might be able to use. It is 60 wide and at least 107 inches. It is a knit with a all over Mickey design. I would love to trade some cotton juvielle prints ( I have been making wipe covers). Anything Disney, Elmo, Hello Kitty. I need 8.5 x 5 inch pieces.

Here is a pic

FABRIC GONE.. THANKS LORI

pm me if you are interested.

Love all of the outfits. You are all so talented.

T-beri: How about "Baby, It's Cold Outside" by Dolly Parton and Rod Stewart? Now, that's obscure pairing!

I'm glad you are all ok!!!!

We can't find our camera, or I would take a picture to make you feel better! There is about a foot of snow on my car right now!

Last I heard, Heather was almost home. So, I am sure that she made it back ok, or my Mom would have been calling me!

Arminda cried a long time when she found out we weren't going to go see her at my Mom's today (because of the roads). It was all I could do to keep myself from crying, I was so disapointed not to see her today! :(

I made this shirt for my BIL's girlfriend's daughter. She loves it! She's in third grade and was drooling :hyper: over all the customs in the photobucket account, unlike my 1st grade niece who was puking over them. :crazy2: YAY!!! Somebody to make customs for!!! :thumbsup2

That is so cute! I am glad that she appreciates it! Nothing worse then sewing all day then it not be appreciated! I can't wait to take pictures in the morning of my all day affair!

I'm so happy for you! That shirt is great and it's so nice to be appreciated!

I stayed up way to late to finish this, broke two needles, but I learned to make a flat fell hem!

That is too cute! I am yet to attempt a jacket like that but love them!

Wendy, Can't wait to see a photo of your quilt.

I like to get x-mas letters. We are actually busy enough to make one, but I'm not motivated enough. I love to catch up with those who I really don't talk with much.

Did she wear it to school today or was it too cold?

Cindee

I just read my old school district in Michigan cancelled school today. (This district hardly EVER cancels school)

For those of you wishing you were Florida.........

it is a "balmy" 39 degrees in Orlando right now and they are talking "wind chill":sad1: I think the snow in the Mk may be REAL tonight, there is supposed to be another freeze warning.........

I want the sun back!!!!!!!!!!!!!:beach:
