Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes Part 5

I'm not sure if this place has prints or not. I purchased from
www.murielleroy.com
I did get a slip of paper in my order that says that they're having a sale November 14-16 (15% off) and then again December 3-5 (15% off)
I paid $2.75 a yard, which I don't guess is bad, but with the yardage required for a pettiskirt, I'd love to find a source that may be less.

That's the place I found. The price is pretty good but it does add up with the yardage needed. I used 5.5 yards on Zoe's for her costume and probably would use 6 - 7 to get the fullness I was aiming for.

First part:
ok, Every year there is a huge parade and costume contest at school. The girls were
Alice and the Queen of Hearts. unfortunetly the Preschoolers were not eligable to
win. JoJo sure would have won with That Costume! oh well, they had fun and JoJo
got to be leader of the line since it was her Birthday! That is her teacher Mrs
Yim ( anastasia had her also) and ANastasia is posing with her Fabulous Teacher
Mrs. Sloan!
We are excited to go Trick or Treating tonight!

Just want to pop in a give a big THANK YOU to everyone here that said a little prayer for my DD yesterday. She and baby Robert Henry are doing just fine. She even went back to work today.

It just amazes me how wonderfully supportive and caring you all are here. It sure makes life managable knowing that there are real people that give a stitch about others! And, it's just plain nice that you can come here, share a concern and that people will care enough to do something about it! Why, it makes me feel good about people in general!

I just have to say, again, I love that queen of hearts costume! Did you use a pattern, or create it yourself? I especially love the tulle.

You have cute, cute girls, and they look like they are having a blast. :goodvibes

Well, I am procrastinating. I need to make a study guide for my class for tomorrow, and I just don't want to do it!:rolleyes1 Now, I sound just like my students.:sad2: haha!

Well, I finally got Zoe's costume finished last night. The leotard is a bit snugger than I wanted but at least it fits. :) I don't think the velour I used has as much stretch as others.

Here she's having fun with the pile of leaves she and two friends "imported" from the neighbor's yard.

I love this. It is so unique.

Ohhhhh, they are going to be great when you're done! Are you going to stich around the outside or use puffy paint? I don't think they look plain at all! :thumbsup2

Thank you.......you too! We just got back and are "unwinding" before bed! :woohoo:

This is the shirt I've made for my DD for HSM on Ice. I appliqued doing a wider zig zag.

Great job...that is a lot of letters! You must be very patient!!!! :rolleyes1

Happy halloween to you too! :santa: :rotfl2:

This is the shirt I've made for my DD for HSM on Ice. I appliqued doing a wider zig zag. I think it works with this and it saved me a ton of time since there are so many letters. 1 down, 1 to go. I'm going to attempt to applique on jeans and rip open the seams. Wish me luck.

th_disboutique082.jpg
That turned out fantastic! I would love to see that show myself!
Is there a trick to turning fabric tubes? I sewed some long straps and I turned one of them right-side out last night and it took me forever and was very frustrating!
Get a skinny wooden dowel, and do it about the same way Heather said with the pencil. You put the end of the fabric over the end of the dowel, and then inch the fabric down over the dowel. Once you get it a little way, you can just push the dowel, and the fabric will turn nicely. My Mom always stitched a piece of cording or yarn to the end of the tube, then stitched it inside when she was sewing it up, and pulled that. I could never get that method to work quite right though.

There are also commercial products available. Here is a demonstration of the Dritz tube turner: http://sewlil.blogspot.com/2007/08/dritz-quick-turn-fabric-tube-turners.html

I've never tried that, but it looks like it would make it very easy to do.

We went to MK Friday (I think) and Morgan got to ride with Alice on the teacups and she REALLY enjoyed making Mommy sick (I don't like spinny rides:guilty: )

And the little "angel" at MGM :cheer2: after watching HSM 2.

Cindee

Love the pictures Cindee! Morgan is such a pretty girl! Did you make the Poly outfit? I don't remember seeing that one before. It's gorgeous!

I'm looking for advice on these pirate overalls for DS 3. This is what I've done so far. But, they look like they are missing something? I know the boutique overalls for boys are a little less busy than the girls, but are these too plain?
brothers5407.jpg

brothers5404.jpg

I think they are looking great. The only thing I might do differently is make the brown on the bib a little smaller. I love the fabric you have behind it, and would like to see a little more of that.

I may have had a toilet mishap, but I would never share it with you. :snooty:
As for the castle, I'd like to clarify that I was absolutely THRILLED to actually be inside the castle!! But, I wasn't very impressed with the meal and the princesses just kind of skimmed by us- they were too busy.
I wondered what that weird noise was in the bathroom!

And, that's what I meant about the castly too. I love being there, but like you said, the princesses didn't seem to spend enough time with the kids. Of course, we did get that fantastic picture of Corey with Belle! She was wonderful!

I have a bunch more pictures on my PTR :) Lots of Iron-on projects for this trip- I guess I found this thread a little to late  But Next time.....

We leave in the morning!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

I love that AK outfit! I love the zebra inspired prints! And, I might just have to CASE those jeans! I love the Minnie with the tiara.

 We are family here! I am so glad to hear Robert Henry is doing fine!

SO GLAD to hear this! Glad to know all is well!

I found another source, but I've not used them so I can't vouch for anything.
Not as many colors, but the price is pretty good!

Happy Halloween everyone!

Had to share a pic of the kiddos - I've posted the scary princess before, but here's both of them.

Now I've got to tell you about my genious albeit cheezy Halloween getup. Some of you may have noticed that I'm an RN (you know, it's been in my signature for what? like 3 whole days or something.) Anyhoo, as I'm getting the kids dressed, I had a lightbulb moment. Caleb was a pirate last year, so I'll just borrow an eyepatch and his pirate hat (yes, I shoved my big ol' head into his pirate hat) wear a pair of scrubs, my stethoscope, and I'll be - are you ready for this - an ARRRRRRRRN. :lmao: I told you it was cheezy!

So, since I dressed up, I made DH dress up also. You know that episode of friends where Joey steals all of Chandler's clothes and wears them all? That was DH tonight! I made him go around saying "I'm Chandler - could I BE wearing anymore clothes?" Needless to say, I don't think anyone got either of our costumes, but we amused ourselves.

Hope everyone had a fun night!

I think you just helped me solve Kirsta's Xmas or Bday present. She is constantly asking me if she can help, or what she can work on. I have one from when I was kid, it's in the attic somewhere. But it's a nightmare. It's a Singer and did a chain stitch, which always came unraveled.
It seems the Singer kid's machines are just as bad as they used to be. I read through the reviews on amazon and from what I can see DON'T buy a Singer kid's sewing machine! The Hello Kitty one had the best reviews. Actually, it was the only one with good reviews.

Just want to pop in a give a big THANK YOU to everyone here that said a little prayer for my DD yesterday. She and baby Robert Henry are doing just fine. She even went back to work today.

Oh, I'm so glad she's doing all right and the baby is okay, too!! My husband's name is Henry, so I'm rather fond of the baby's name!

I think your costumes were absolutely hilarious!!!! I'm am still giggling about DH's costume! That is one of my two all-time favorite Friends episodes (the other one being the Thanksgiving episode where Joey gets the turkey stuck on his head). Did you have him do lunges in all the clothes, too? :rotfl: ARRRRRRN- TOO funny!!!
The kids both look adorable (but tell them I said they were really scary)

I'm not supposed to post pictures here of my DD, but hey it's Halloween right??
th_NavygameandHalloween2007048.jpg
Oh my gosh, she's such a cutie!

Revrob, thanks for that new source. I think I might try buying from them since the prices are lower. They I won't have to worry so much if my second attempt isn't quite right either. :)

LOL, but was DH going "commando" for authenticity? :happytv: I think your costumes were very creative. I like to pick ones that take a little thought. One year I wore black leggings and turtleneck then took a large clear plastic bag, made leg and arm holes in it, filled it with wadded white tissue paper before tying around the neck with raffia... few people guessed that I was dressed as white trash. :rolleyes1

Thanks! I thought she looked so innocent in this picture! What do you think of this one?????
NavygameandHalloween2007035.jpg

The girl is into size!!!!!!

Hey, she's just an optimist... and a very cute one at that. :goodvibes

I think the ARRRN thing was clever. Cheesey, yes. But clever.

I know I haven't really been posting about anyones elses stuff...busy you know. But everything has been great, Tessa Cinderella dress, Zoe's halloween costume the evil princess-OMG how many pounds did that beautiful thing weigh???
That's enough about everyone else, we all know my favorite subject is, well, me...

Here is Lily in her finished (albeit not to original specs) patchwork skirt.

Now I have to go to bed. The plan for tomorrow is Epcot and I haven't had nearly enough sleep. Her Minne outfit still needs snaps sewn on if she is going to wear it tomorrow.
