Thanks! I had to post because I just had a mini-revelation. I have bunches of pieces of ribbon that I have bought off the roll so to speak. DS5 has been hoarding my empty thread spools, well, I wound ribbon on the empty thread spools and they fit perfectly on those in-between rows--wait I'll take a picture! DS is not going to be happy when he realizes his empty spools are gone!

Again, another BRILLIANT idea!

I might just have to CASE that one!:rotfl:

Hi all. Have'nt been posting much lately because I've been busy getting ready for a trip to NOLA next week and trying to get all the comstume stuff together for hubby and I for the LeStat Vampire ball there (I'm still trying to find a pair of victorian looking shoes) But I thought I would post aa few pics of Kiley's BTS outfit. It got here a little late for BTS ( I was going to save it and let her wear it during American Eudcation week)but when we had our first cool day her in Maryland I let her wear it. Sorry about how the pics look my camera is kinda sucky (for lack of a better word) and I should have used hubby's. His is much nicer, but oh well whattaya gonna do ? :) .

Cute outfit! I've seen this fabric once before and didn't get it and I've kicked myself ever since! Now I can't remember where I saw it...is it Wal Mart or Joann's? Your daughter looks beautiful in it!

Here are a few outfits I've done for my dd. I have one more that I've done but no picture and I'm smocking another dress for her that has Ariel and the other Mermaid characters.

Sorry for the bug eyed look! She was wired last night and didn't want to calm down!

th_DSCN2708.jpg

Love both outfits! Since I'm new to this, I have no idea how you smock. I need the sewing for dummies book! Is it like cross stitch? Also, when you smock something, do you buy the outfit already shirred (sp?) or do you do it yourself? My DD's last few dresses for Easter and Christmas have been smocked so I'd love to maybe figure out how to do it (Strasburg Children is starting to bankrupt me!).

Nicholas broke his foot....poor little guy...he is so brave....2 weeks ago when mommy picked him up at "school" he took one look at her and started to cry and limped to her...teacher didn't know what happened...he just started to cry when he woke up from his nap. Mommy called Daddy at work (jock and personal trainer) and he said, oh yea, forgot to mention he jumped down from slide and he was crying and limping, but he was ok....mommy wanted to take Nicholas to doc in am...Nicholas didn't want to go..and he said he was "all better now"...so yesterday am he woke up crying and he couldn't walk on his feet...he was on his knees due to pain...so, xray and orthopedic surgeon...and broken foot...in a walking boot...baby size...hope it heals in 5 weeks...we will be going to WDW!!!

Oh, poor baby! I hate it when little ones are hurting, it just breaks my heart. I hope he's doing better now!

I think sewing is like childbirth. As soon as I see the child with the outfit on, I forget all about the grief it caused me and I can't wait to start something new! Or else I am just nutty!

Now that is a great way to explain why I keep sewing! It's like childbirth and I forget how difficult it is for me as well as frustrating! Most days I want to pull my hair out!

Kidnapping is scary and something I never want to deal with again. I would not have shared this, but your post made me think of it.

My dd10 was kidnapped when she was a few months old. She was taken from a church nursery. My dh was out of town and I had no family in the area so I had no body to lean on. We did get her back and she was fine. It was somebody we knew that took her.

The person that took my Susie gave birth around the time I did. She gave her baby up for adoption. She told the person in the nursery that I told her to pick up Susie for me. She then took the baby and left the church. Her mom was the one that brought Susie back to me and told me her dd would be getting help for depression.

To this day I have trouble letting my dc out of my sight for any amount of time. The church we go to now requires id cards that match a tag the dc wear for pick up.

Sorry for going on about this. I try not to think about it and don't normally talk about it. This is the first time I have shared this with people I don't really know well.

Oh my gosh, I can only imagine your horror while this was going on. How incredibly scary for you. I'm so glad that she was brought back without any harm being done to her. Your so lucky and it makes me appreciate my DDs even more. Thank you for sharing.

These are cute already, I can't wait to see what else you do to them!

Cindee, I'm afraid you're going to have to elaborate on that one. Was she giving her dishes the finger???

Does Heathers new position change mine, cause frankly I was a little bummed I didn't make the top 10:sad2:

PS. I decided that for the money I'd spend in supplies (having NONE) and knowing I would have way too much left over I thought I'd check :wizard: for hair bows... I found 1 hairbow, not too special as far as hairbows go....the starting bid was 14.99, of course it had NO bids, but a bit of time left. Do people really get 14.99 for 1 bow or is this crazy???

SO anyone willing to make bows for me or resell some to me give me a shout!!! I need them for DD's AK dress. Possibly for her halloween one too....

...t.

I'm with you on this one T-beri. The bow thing is outrageous. Both of my girls have curly unmanageable hair that has to be held back with a bow (okay, DD2 really doesn't have that much, but she wants a bow like her big sister and one day it will be curly!). I went to a store in town that sells bows the other day and a plain, solid color bow big enough for DD4 was $10.00. A fancy bow was $16. Are you kidding me?????????? I am currently contemplating learning how to make bows. I do buy my plain, single color bows from Ebay and I usually pay around $2.00 for a 4-5 inch bow, but I buy them 10 at a time. I love the fancier bows though and I can't afford them so I guess I'll learn how to make them. This craft thing is getting expensive. It started with scrapbooking, then decorating cookies, now I sew (the most expensive hobby yet!) and moving on to hairbows too!

Here is the bodice of a Christmas dress I started for DD. I am so proud of myself for trying to appliqué. It is no where near perfect but it looks good from a distance.

This is the fabric I am using for the skirt.

And just because here is a wedding photo (Sept 2003) and we were both 29.

I've got that fabric you're using for the skirt! Now you're giving me some ideas!

Better yet.. paper!!

Okay Heather, just so you're not alone..

Back in the day...

Sorry for the big pics:rolleyes1

I love seeing everyone's wedding pictures. I have some of those here, I'll have to find them and post mine. It's kind of funny seeing what everyone looks like! Strange that most of us on this board have never met but "talk" almost everyday!

Ok, here are Megan's and my favorite songs right at this moment:

When You're Gone by Avril Lavigne
Lip Gloss by Lil Mama (although I cannot picture you singing this, lol)
Now That You Got It and 4 in the Morning by Gwen Stefani
Big Girls Don't Cry by Fergie
Who Knew by Pink
Bubbly by Colbie Caillat

Hope this helps! I just bought Now That You Got It for my ringtone but that Bubbly song is my new favorite, I get it stuck in my head all day long. Megan prefers Pink and Fergie.

Please sing Lip Gloss by Lil Mama! I think that song is hilarious and my girls like to clap to it but if you do sing it, put it on myspace so we can all go and listen! Too funny!

Does anybody know of a good on-line source for tulle? The kind we use for the tied tutus. I have almost cleared out Hobby Lobby! Thanks

Hi Everyone. It's been ages since I've posted anything...boo hoo. The girls are wearing their Halloween skirts to Sea World tomorrow, where I'll be meeting up with Livindisney. (Cindee)
And yes, I leave for Disney in less than a week and the girls still do not have their outfits together. They have their Halloween costumes, but I just haven't given any effort to their park days...Oh my...
I will have to sit down and work on that.
I also have some news...I met another Diser today... JaxPooh, I think her name is. I bought a Halloween costume from her on Ebay and didn't know she was a Diser until I saw her tattoo...It was a Mickey head...LOL. I knew I had seen it before and it could only be one place...Here!!
We chatted for a few minutes and she has a really cute little boy.
Everyone take care and I love all the new creations!!
Lisa

Here's another one for you...BTW I HATE beer!! DH wanted to get the bar picture blown up to hang up over the bar in the basement. That hasn't happened!!

th_IMG_2186.jpg

You hate beer?????//// What? It's my favorite drink! (Besides Diet Coke!) Out of all of my neighbors, I'm the only woman who drinks beer. When we all get babysitters and go out to eat everyone else orders something "classy" like wine, martinis, etc. I'm all about Coors Light! My husband thinks I'm a cheap date!

Ok, Ok -
I give - I went and took some pics of some pics so the quality is not that great but here they are...
We were married in 1996 - I was a month shy of 22 - DH a month shy of 23

The next pics were taken back in 2001 when the kiddos were Minnie and Mickey!

And lastly - pics of my pg self - 37 weeks with twins - and the babies the day we left the hospital. I hate the pic of me holding them in the wheelchair because I was so swollen. They were 4#14oz and 4#8oz at birth.

th_DSC_1463.jpg

th_DSC_1464.jpg

Eeek - we are having a wind storm here today - it is supposed to be pretty bad - my lights just flashed - hope I can stay connected today!!!

You are a brave woman! I won't show ANYBODY but my doctor my stomach when I'm pregnant, and if I could find a way around it I wouldn't even show my doctor!

I double the opinion on the Tiger Tails! One will feed 3 kids...or else they'll get tummy aches, for sure. I've never had the sugar cookies there BUT the Dole Whips at DL are better in my humble opinion. The best corn dogs on the planet are in the red cart outside of the first aid and baby care center across from Casey's Corner. We get them for the electrical parade every time. You even get a complimentary air filled bag of chips!

How have I missed this???? All the times I've been to Disneyland and never even had a corn dog from the red cart? Did not know it even existed until I found the Disboards. And I LIKE corn dogs! Not to mention the thousands of times I must've passed it going to and from the baby care center!

That's so funny, I'm fond of saying "it's not easy to maintain this girlish figure"

BUT I am going to stop maintaining and start reshaping this girlish figure at once. Making my costume it was easy to see just how much weight I've gained over the last year and I am DONE!!! Looking at my wedding pics (you know I thought I was fat then!!!) I wanna look like that again.
Maybe I should get through vacation first;)

All of the wedding photos are just fabulous, you all looked so pretty!!! I LOVE weddings. I had the most fun planning mine.
2CUTEKIDS...That is EXACTLY why I'm saving my tiara. You look so much like your mom too... both beautiful brides.

There is one pic you will never find. No cameras were allowed in my delivery rooms until the day we took the kids home, after I had a shower and put makeup on. NO cameras, NO (w/ a capital N-O) video cameras.
it pissed a lot of grandparents off but they were all there...did we really need to relive it in photos??? I told them they could put away the cameras or leave. I'm a witch, right?

I allowed cameras but no "money" shots, if you know what I mean! The hospital in KS allowed video cameras but my hospital in TX didn't but we left it on, on the table next to my bed at around my shoulder so it would record it for us. I actually don't know if it got anything, I guess I should see!

As far as being a witch goes..........I probably get that prize. With my second daughter I wouldn't let anyone come and see her until she was 3 weeks old (all of our family is from around 10 hours away so when they come they stay with us). Family wore me out with DD4 so I was exhausted for about 3 months after I had her (they just kept coming, and coming) and I was determined not to go through that again. I know it's mean but nobody came and helped, they came, sat on my couch and allowed me to take care of them instead of helping! I did all of the cleaning, laundry, cooking, etc. for everyone!

Here...
This was the beginning of the minnie outfit. I woulld like to point out that the top ruffle is not straight b/c I haven't put snaps on the straps and she wouldn't hold still for me to pin straight.

This is the new and improved version...after some minor adjustments

That's it for now. Hopefully I get the halloween skirt done this weekend.

LOVE the Minnie dot outfit! I'm so partial to that fabric and you did a fantastic job!
