OH NO! I can NOT let Lydia see this!!!! She is going to love it!! Ariel is a favorite around here! I love the top! The skirt is adorable! I like the colors you used for this! Your daughter is GORGEOUS!!! What a cutie!

The picture resized fine! Sometimes when you resize in Photobucket, it takes a minute for the smaller size to show up on your computer. If you made it too small, we wouldn't be able to see how adorable it is, this is the perfect size!

Aack!!!! What should I do? I made Halloween patchwork skirts for DD5 and DD4. I added Mickey heads to the tops. While trimming the threads, I accidentally put a small hole in the fabric with the scissors. The hole it above the small Mickey head, so kind of in the middle left front of the shirt. Can anything be done?!?!

I thought about putting ric-rac around the shirts and adding it to the bottom of the skirts. But that's a lot of ric-rac. Any other suggestions? I thought the skirts might need something anyway. I do have white irridescent ric-rac. It's kind of bright on the tops, but seems to match the sparkles in the Boo fabric and the spider fabric.

Here's a pic of one skirt and both tops.

One skirt layed out so you can see it better.

Thanks for any help!

If I did anything to those fabulous skirts, I would add bias tape to give a finished look to the hem.

Yeah on cutting the Minnie Dot!!! WOOHOO!!! I still haven't cut mine!

When I did Arminda's Pooh Toille shirt, I made a modesty panel. I just measured across how wide it would need to be at the top and bottom and then how long I wanted it. Then I did a hem all the way around, and top stitched it to the shirt. Hmmm, hope that makes sense! I don't explain things real well!

ETA:
And, just because I'm trying to help you out, and not because I'm trying to show off how stinking cute Arminda is, here is a picture! The part in the middle there is what I added. I CASED this shirt, so there is another shirt in the bookmarks from this pattern, in this fabric without the panel. It doesn't look like it fell as low on that little girl as it did Arminda. At the moment my memory is failing me as to who posted that one first!

That's what y'all called it, a modesty panel! Dh will love that! I gotta get that done today, she just got out of the shower and said "ok, mom where's my new shirt? I want to wear it today"... oops! Gotta go!

Love the design of the shirt! Great job!

Thanks! This was a first attempt at applique! Don't look to closely!

Thank you!! She LOVES Ariel and when we went to pick out fabric I was going to do the princesses but she INSISTED on Ariel! Well now that I know how to do pics I will post some of my latest creations!

Quick question for those of you who do all these adorable clothes:

I'm going to have a friend make me a tote bag and I'm looking for some Mickey Mouse themed ribbon (3/4 inch or wider). Do any of you know where I could find such a thing? I've been googling and calling craft stores all morning with no luck.

TIA!

:flower:

I got my model to cooperate, somewhat. So, here's what I've been working on for the last week or 2 (I can't figure out how some of you whip them up so quickly)!

Wow it looks like you took two weeks to do it has a lot of little details. She is so adorable in it. I can't waite to see what you do next. Thanks for sharing.:thumbsup2

Ok so here is my First creation not anything fancy, just used left over patches from a quilt. I have already started making another one with smaller patches as the patches are pretty big- like 6"x6" big- but it didn't take to long!! Kinda like riding a bike you never really forget- it just takes a little practice to get going good :rotfl2:

So I think it at least looks like a skirt- We'll see how the smaller patches look- I'm gonna have to try that gathering technique with bast stitching and pulling the threads, it's sounds like the easiest way to gather- unless any one has better ideas?!?!?!?!?

Yay! You did it! It looks great! My mom taught me the basting and pulling method of gathering many many years ago and it is the only way I know! It works great for me! Just go around twice so if you break one thread you have a backup. Adorable baby by the way!!

Well the sewing machine that was given to me has just died this morning. My sister offered to give me her old one, but she forgot she had already given it away. :rotfl: My mother offered to give me hers since she doesn't sew anymore and then quickly changed her mind because she "might" sew again one day. :confused3

DH told me to just buy myself a machine, so I thought I would get some recommendations from you ladies.

I am looking to get something that isn't too hard for a beginner, but has enough features to please a pro.

I have been looking at the Brother Disney edition. Anyone here have this machine?

O.k., here's my sewing question...........

How do you guys stay motivated to keep sewing all of the time and who's doing your laundry while you sew?????????????:confused3

I absolutely love to sew, but I am bad about getting a project started because I always think that everything has to be in order before I can start and well, that just never happens. I thought that I would get to sew sooooo much once Drew started Kindergarten, but it appears that after 10 years of having preschoolers in my house I have lost the ability to focus on a task for more than 15 minutes. Seriously though, I am going to get myself organized and get sewing!

I have spent the first few weeks of my "kid free days" meeting friends for lunch and socializing. Now I am ready to get to work! Any tips on how you guys stay organized at home that help you have time to sew will be very appreciated.

I am getting off the computer and heading to the sewing machine store. I had my serger serviced and I am so excited because they were able to fix it! I "ran over" my zipper foot about a year and half ago and it totally jammed up. I also ordered a ruffler foot for my sewing machine that they got in. Hopefully my new tools will get me psyched up to get working on the 500 projects that I have bought fabric for!

I still have alot of threads to clip and to finish the bottom, not sure if I should just hem or add something.

I am a beginner. Just started teaching myself to sew about 4 weeks ago maybe. So sewing is so much fun that I don't need too much motivation at the moment. And I just keeping making more outfits, so who needs to do laundry!!!!:rotfl: HAHA

There's an image in the DisBoutique site under Fabrics N Patterns N Ideas and then the sub album is Images. It's on page 2.
