Aack!!!! What should I do? I made Halloween patchwork skirts for DD5 and DD4. I added Mickey heads to the tops. While trimming the threads, I accidentally put a small hole in the fabric with the scissors. The hole it above the small Mickey head, so kind of in the middle left front of the shirt. Can anything be done?!?!

I thought about putting ric-rac around the shirts and adding it to the bottom of the skirts. But that's a lot of ric-rac. Any other suggestions? I thought the skirts might need something anyway. I do have white irridescent ric-rac. It's kind of bright on the tops, but seems to match the sparkles in the Boo fabric and the spider fabric.

Here's a pic of one skirt and both tops.

that would be cute... and let me say i have done that also many times
i have also added the same material to the inside to cover the whole if it is small enough .. i can't tell with your pictures..

howdy.. any good sewing places by you?

Not many! There is a Cotton Shop on 9400 S. and 700 E. My DS4 goes to pre-school in Draper so I go to the newish mega Joanns on 123rd. I think I read earlier that you and Utah Mama discovered a Hobby Lobby? Where was it? How was it? Never heard of it until this board. I'm afraid to go because I have been spending too much money! Any other recommendations? Even the Hancocks by me has closed.

Very cute! As for the hole, I would just pinch it together and stitch it up from the backside with black thread. Just pinch it in and stitch as close to the edge as you can without it pulling out. Since it is black it won't be as obvious. But you will probably get some amazing better suggestions! These people here are good! I'm just a learner!

that is such a good idea i could have done that with my last outfit i ruined... see you learn something new everyday..:cutie:

That's not how I read it.... Anyway what about past auctions?...I was about to post about one that ended several days ago... Oh heck here it is anyway...
Does anyone know what was so special about this outfit for it going so high? $736 ouch!

Deleted link even though it is old and no longer for sale on ebay, because I just might get into trouble...

All it takes is 2 people who REALLY want something. :confused3 I can't even imagine spending that on clothes for myself much less my DD. I know I'd be thinking "but that would get us X days at Disneyland". :lmao:

Here is what I accomplished due to the fact that it snowed most of the day Saturday (no yardwork, cancelled soccer games, too cold to go outside etc.) And I did it all without leaving the house. I bought some patterns on YCMT and had the fabric in my stash. I only had one pack of Mickey head scrapbook buttons though, so I thought I'd just stick a yellow one on there until I got back to the store for another set, but now the mismatched look is starting to grow on me. The mini buttons worked perfect for the matching doll outfit. Unfortunately that is her sister's doll. I'm thinking Santa may have to bring her her own Bitty Baby. I took her on errands today and she got a LOT of attention, so I'm wondering if it might be a bit too much. One lady in line at Walmart asked if I made it for her and I said "yes" and she said "I knew you were a good mother!" :confused3 :rotfl:

At least I got her to look at the camera! She never holds still. I took the first picture and she yelled "TA DAH!"

Very cute. I think the buttons are perfect as they are.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!:worship:

I sewed it and it's (almost) as good as new! Whoohoo!

Now, does anyone think the skirt needs some type of trim?

I got my model to cooperate, somewhat. So, here's what I've been working on for the last week or 2 (I can't figure out how some of you whip them up so quickly)!

This is way too cute!!!! I am sooo jealous of this. I could never do something like that but sure wish I could! Maybe one day!

I just got back from DL and so far behind on these threads!

I just learned how to knit and I tought myself to crochet before our trip to make a pirate hat for DD. I will post pics of that soon, we just got back and I am pooped!

I will have to check out the website above, do they do crochet as well?
Yes they do! Seriously it is very awesome. You can check out the sneak peek screenshot tour.

I'm sorry is it by the mickey head? If so is it close enough to cover with a Minnie bow? That would be my solution. :rotfl:

I love it. I added to my list of things to CASE.

I refuse to think about snow. It was in the upper 80s here Sat.

I really like this outfit. I've been trying to think of something I could do with that fabric, but I couldn't think of anything. This looks great!

On a lighter, more on topic note- You guys have inspired me!! I have finally broken down and dusted off my sewing machine :yay: I will now attempt to sew an article of clothing- a feat never done before- I've only made blankets and stuff. So here I go. I will definetly need some practicing!!! Wish me luck!!

GOOD LUCK!!!! :cheer2:

That's a good idea, too. I'll have to keep this in mind because I'm sure I'll snip something else someday. But the bow would have to be on her ear.

Not Disney, but My latest creation...

This one went to my neice. So it's back to the sewing machine to make another one for DD.

I forgot the whiskers, but the pants were already stitched back up by the time I realized this. Oh well! Hello Kitty was actually easier thean the pre-made princess panels! It's not purrfect but not bad either!
This is GREAT!!! and who needs whiskers?

I LOVE the colors in this. The mickey buttons are perfect!! And you DD looks to be about the same age as mine and her FAVORITWE new term is Ta Dah! we don't even know where she learned it!:rotfl:
Tonight was my bowling night (I bowled above my average all night so it was a good night!) so no sewing. I have to put the bias tape on the pillowcase dress then I'll be on to the bloomers. I think I'm going to try to get the halloween patches cut tonight so that I can get a jump on that project. I am procrastinating cutting the pattern for the Epcot outfit, I hate matching fabric and to do pants too...blech!!!
see you all in the am!!

All I can say is WOW! That looks like it took a lot of work. It's really, really cute!

I just wanted to say again that I think she is absolutely gorgeous! dd16 thinks so too!

That little girl looks just like a baby doll, literally! OMG she is absolutely adorable!!!! And, just so you know, I will probably be CASEing that outfit! I've had that princess fabric for a while and had no idea what to do with it, and I just love it with those dots!

hi -
i dont know if i should do the twirl skirt in patches or just the 3 "levels"....i got my halloween fabric from walmart too - i was at joann's today too, but even at 40% off 7.99, i just had to go back to walmart for the fabric lol - that way if i ruin it, it will only hurt a little but!!! lol!!!

3 tiered is easier than patchwork! Not too much, but it takes time and precision to cut out the patches.

:cool1: :dance3: :yay: :woohoo: :cheer2:
That was me today! I went to Hobby Lobby and found Leopard Santa! Then I went to Hancocks and found Kids Around the World, Pirate Map AND the most beautiful blue w/glitter & stars fabric!!! It just screamed "Cinderella" at me when I walked by, so I had to buy some! If I only knew what I was gonig to do with this stuff! I just seem content in knowing that I do have it!

hooray Deann!!! I'm still looking for the perfect coordinate for that pirate fabric.
AND HeatherSue..I meant to aske where you got DD's shoes? They are GREAT!
...t.

She is so absolutely adorable!!!!! Cute outfit too!!!

hi aimeeg!!

i did a pillowcase dress as my first thing, it was soooooo easy, and the girls got comments on the simple dress - give it a try!!!!

now i want to try a twirl skirt, still working up the nerve - got some fabric today, but just dont understand the whole ruffler foot thing!!!!

here is hannah in her minnie pillowcase dress!! the black minnie head, is actually one those patches that you can iron on to mend jeans and stuff, then i made a little polkadot bow and just hand stitched it on - the ruffle at the bottom was bought premade off a bolt at walmart and the rickrack was in a package - all simple!!!

Well, you should see Tessa in person! She is absolutely drop dead gorgeous! (she takes after her Mommy that way!)We are going to be in SOOOO much trouble when she and Lydia get older! We are going to have to lock them up!

How sad is it that we leave for Disney in 20 days and I haven't even thought about their outfits...LOL...I need to get on it. I'm sure they have something lying around that I can put on them...LOL
