Sorry about the in- laws and getting your head bit off- I hate when everyone gets stressed and cranky!!! My in-laws wanted to go on a house boat "Vacation" (I use that word loosely) And that is exactly why!! I really don't think it would be much fun to spend a week with all those people on a boat!! where would we go when when wanted to choke each other- in the lake!!!! So glad we got out of that one!!!

Well HeatherSUe..... I tried my very best, I shrunk my pic down to avatar size (according to photobucklet) but the DIS says it's still too big. Any other suggestions??

Here you go

OK, we had the coolest day today. The Doodlebops are going to be at Altell Arena tomorrow, but we aren't getting to go. I haven't even told dd4 about it. Well, I heard the end of a commercial a couple of days ago about them signing autographs at a Wal-Mart somewhere in town. So I called today to find out when & where & it all worked out so we got to go meet them. DD4 just had this absolutely amazed look on her face when I told her what we were going to do & sdhe gave me the biggest hug ever! When we got there & she could finally see them in front of us, she just grinned & giggled like you wouldn't believe. She was so excited! They signed her cd liner notes & talked to her & gave her high 5's. She wore her Minnie dot top & since it's finally decided to be fall around here & had her wear her black long sleeved top under it. DeeDee told her she looked just like Minnie Mouse. I think that made dd's day as much as anything else. I've got a few pics, I just need to get them uploaded.

That sounds fun!!! We need some pictures!

Good thing I didn't go to WalMart!
THAT is an understatement!!! Can you imagine if you had?????:scared1:

My L/D stories aren't quite as dramatic as all of yours but here you go:

I was on bed rest with 1st DD for toxemia. At 37 1/2 wk check up she was head down ready to go. At 38 1/2 weeks she had somehow flipped herself and was in a pike position breech. The dr tried to turn her but no luck. Had a c-section but since she was pike position she was not budging, so 2 drs had to get and push on my belly to get her out. I didn't feel a thing during delivery but for the next 24 hrs I was throwing up constantly. Then the Pharmacy couldn't find our insurance info at 10 pm at night and didn't want to give my husband my pain meds, he came home empty handed. You can bet I sent him right back to get some and not to come home if he didn't.

2nd DD - I went into labor driving home from dinner on our way to open Christmas presents with family in town before Christmas. My DH kept complaining he had to go to the bathroom. He didn't quite grasp that I was in labor. We opened a few presents and then went in at about 9:30 pm. They gave me pitocin and broke my water to speed things along. My poor dr was also pg and due in a month and she was on call. DD was born at 5:59 am at 9 lbs 1/2 oz. Wonder epidural I didn't feel a thing, pushed for about 10 minutes and had a very small episiotomy.

DS was by far the easiest. My water broke at 1:30 am. I went in and they just let everything progress itself. Started labor at 3:30 am got my wonderful epidural and delivered DS at 9:00 am. The only problem was that there was a shift change and no one was checking my progress so I had to tell them that he was ready to come. They couldn't get the dr on call to answer the page (he is no longer with the group and is now doing lipodisolve) so the midwife came. DS was 7 lbs 11 oz (3 wks early). I pushed for about 15 mins and had no episiotomy.

So for all those reading that may not have kids or only 1 childbirth is not always scary or painful.

Now THAT is the way to have babies! My Mom had a really easy time with labor and delivery, so silly me always assumed that I would too!

For all y'all without avatars by your username- why don't you have an avatar by your username? If you're not sure what an avatar is, mine is Tessa with Cinderella there on the left.

I never took the tijme to figure it out. Now I have an avatar, but tomorrow will work on a personal one. Now to figure out the siggy thing. How does everyone get a ticker on there?

My labor stories are the ones first time moms should hear! All 3 were less than 3 hours. I was 4 cm 4 weeks before delivery with all three and delivered 12 days early with all of them. DD8 decided to come on her own. My water broke just after we got home from the pumpkin patch. We went to the hospital, but never had a contraction the entire night. Doc broke my water fully the next am and started pitocin. I was young and nieve and didn't want pain meds, especially an epidural. Never asked for anything and was "blowing" in the shower for what seemed like forever when the nurse finally sked if I wanted to be checked. Everyone was shocked I was ready to oush. One hour later I had an 8 pound baby girl.

DS6 was much easier. I was induced for being uncomfortable and 4 cm early again. Doc broke my water and contraction started immediately. 2 1/2 hours later and 2 big pushes I had an 8 pound baby boy. I asked for nubaine and was told I was at 8 cm. Nurse blew the vein and by the time she got the nubaine working I was already pushing.

DS15mos was different all together. I was induced again by breaking my water 12 days early. NO contractions this time for an hour. I was afraid of getting pitocin again. Finally they started pretty strong. I walked for as long as I could and then rocked. I kept complaining of an aching back, not realizing I was having back labor. Finally asked and received nubaine when I was at 8 and begain pushing 5 minutes later. This time pushing lasted 30 min because he was sunny side up and would not turn. No wander my back hurt so much. He was 9 pounds 12 days early.

Thank God my doc listened to me and allowed me to go early. I can relate to the fear of an 11 pound baby! My mother had an 11 and 12 pound baby as her last 2, but they were late.

You know I always say goodbye too soon...

I SWEAR we are SO not going to WDW!!!! Everyone is tired and cranky and STRESSED out. My inlaws, my hubby...if I have to stay in a 2 BR villa for 7 days with all of them I am going to to be miserable!!! GRRRR, why is it I am the only one who can ever just pull up my big girl pants and deal w/ situations when they arise? My MIL's all " I didn't go to sleep until 1 last night" Yeah, I haven't gone to sleep until 1 every flippin' night this week- I went to bed at 4:30 2 nights ago.. But I'm not B*&^%iING at everyone else am I??? All I did was ask DH if something he packed was necessary as it was a large item and got my head bit off!!! I am seriously considering calling the whole thing off!!!

Okay venting over, please return to your previously scheduled program.

Well, I'm glad you posted! If you didn't post soon, I was going to make Steph go check on you to make sure you weren't attacked by the giant ruffle!

I HATE the last few days before we go on vacation! UGGGH!! Brian and I are always arguing about some stupid thing! But, then, once we actually get going on the vacation, it turns out ok. I'm sure you will be fine! Vacation preperation is stressful! :grouphug:

Good morning wonderful people! Have a magical day!

I'm off to do some actual work at my actual job. What a sad state of affairs!

If you all are having avatar problems you can ask me. If you have it to the right pixel dimensions 100x100 (at 72 dpi) you are probably over the kb limit which is 3.9 kb. If you are using Photoshop you can use the 'save for web' option and that will show you how big it will be and you can adjust before it actually saves.

The KB number will actually vary depending on how many colors/shades are in your image.

Wow, it was a slow night!

!!!!!!!GOOD MORNING!!!!!!!

The kiddos have the day off from school for conferences today. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

This is Rooney being silly with her. They were all just great with her. She got shy once it was our turn & didn't want to say much.

Hey! You're awake! I didn't want to call and wake you up. But, I'm going to call you now and see if you're feeling better and if you want to get together and do something fun today. I really needed to post this on the boards, didn't I?

Need help with your avatar?
Sorry to shout, but I have the sneaking suspiscion(sp?) that most don't read my long posts. Otherwise, how come no one commented on the story about Tessa outside, naked, pooping on the deck when she was 2. :rotfl2: Either that, or you're just considering calling social services...

Anyhoo, if anyone needs help with resizing their personal picture to make into an avatar, just PM me. You can upload your picture to photobucket and I'll e-mail you the downsized version.

You poor thing! You can DO it! Think of their behavior as entertainment!!!! Works for me with my darling extended family of ill-behaved rednecks!!!
We don't mind venting!

Oh how cute she is!
I just love the DoodleBops! HOW FUN! I love when kids become suddenly shy...then they talk about it later on in the day and leave out the part where they didn't actually make eye-contact with the character!!!! ;)

OK.... in honor of HEATHER SUE and TERESA too..... my NEW AVATAR should now be revealed.

Yeah..... that's me- just don't laugh too hard. I dress like this for church on Sunday- people are ALWAYS trying to copy my style.... but let's face it........... they can't! It takes a person with a certain penasch (sp?) to dress the way I do.... and the only person I know who even comes close is.... Miss Piggy. So, this avatar is also dedicated, of course, to UTAHMAMA... enjoy!

LOOOOOOVE IT!!!!

Karebear, YOU ROCK!!!!!!!! You DO have Panache, sister!

:rotfl: Your comment about dressing this way for church made me remember a woman from our church 30+ years ago. She was a beautician and kept her hair a light blond... and big! For some occasions, though, she'd use KoolAid (unsweetened) to tint her hair to match her outfit. I swear it looked like she had a big pile of cotton candy on her head some weeks. We were very impressed... back then. :rolleyes1

FYI - I have used KoolAid to add color to my hair for fun. I don't have bleached hair but it still shows up a little. However, it doesn't wash out immediately so I thought I'd better add this warning in case someone wants to try it out. popcorn::

Avatar...thought that was a place to buy meat...well, it's close to that...that's an abatar or something...

why don't they just call it a little picture under your name for folks like me who don't get the lingo?
