Here's an outfit my DD wore to school today... I thought it was rather funny that it looks a lot like the other shirt LisaZoe posted... of course I'm SURE mine is not sewed as well. I'm still learning!

She just came home from school, so she's all tired and its a bit "worn" (ie: dirty from lunch) LOL

Here it is!

Ah, she's cute and you did a great job. I saw your skirt previously when you shared it and the t-shirt definitely makes it a total package. :) I really like those prints, too. Gotta love short names, too, since they can actually fit on a tee without the letters being really small. :yay:

BTW - I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one who insists on adding the 2 dots about the E in Zoe. ;) She knows that's how it's spelled and I just hope the teachers won't have a problem with it since that's how I've been teaching her to make the E (she's even corrected me when I forgot to add those when I signed her name on a card).

Okay,

The photos do not do this justice!! I think it will look much better on. I still have to do the zipper. My Mommy's going to help me tomorrow. I will pin the hem when DD gets home.

I also have trim for the bottom. It is the same ribbon as the sleeves but wider. I think the sleeves turned out really nice! I love the lining. I still cannot find the missing sleeve. The gather ribbon channels are my favorite part. I think that this was not the best project to learn how to use my serger but the serger was great because of the type of fabric.

I will say you have not lived until you "seam ripped" confetti dot, glitter whatever, and satin lining all together!

The force is strong in this one.

DO you have a magic wand?? THAT'S why you don't like HP...you're really a witch and you don't think Jo Rowling has accurately portrayed your kind. I'm convinced of it! Don't try to tell me otherwise!

Aimee, I'll be your friend, I am with you on two of the three so, I can't judge :rotfl:
To funny.

Second peasant shirt status: Done (except for hem)
And its to big. Well not huge, but hopefully by Nov it will be do-able.
I will hem it then.

excuse the little hand, she seems to like it.

So, now that I have done two of these I have noticed something I want to change next time.
The body is a square and I wish it flared out a bit for easier dressing. Anybody else notice this with this particular top....

Otherwise, I love this top and my second one is a lot better than the first.
Yeah! I may actually be improving ;)

You figured me out!!!

Hey do you remember that HBO movie from the 1980's called the Worst Witch? I wonder if I can get that on DVD. I loved it and I bet my DD would too!

I do not love Star Wars but Space Balls is in my top five all time favorite movies! Does that count at all???

Aimee,
Ok, Wow! Great Job.
Maybe we can't be friends...you are just to good, I am intimidated. ;)
Seriously, its great. I love the trim.

Thanks by the way and I love your Aloha shirt. It is so cute! They little hand is my favorite part. Did you just buy the fabric or did you have squireled oops I mean stored away!

I want to do a peasant top for under a Halloween dress. The dress is sleeveless and it needs something under it. I am going to put a sweater over top but it still needs something.

Great Job!

I thought the same thing when I was making the same shirt a few days ago. I made mine kinda a-lined because I didn't want it straight. I like the way it came out. I think the pattern calls for a 14" square. I made mine with the top 14" and the bottom was maybe 16" or 18"? I just drew it out before I cut. I like the way it came out. I also think I want to add a ruffle to the bottom.

OHHHH! It's so gorgeous!!!!! UNbelievable! You have an eye for details!!! PLease post the finished product with dd in it! princess:

It is absosmurfly beautiful!

You are too funny! I have been to several of the SW weekends. Just for you:)

starwars.jpg

Oh I soooooo need to get there! your picture brought out my lower lip pout! When is the next Star Wars weekend planned? I may just have to go with one of the people in this house. (not sure which one though!)

Funny, Aimee, my DH dislikes all of the things you mentioned as well, except Star Wars. He dislikes the fantasy and sci-fi. But even he says,'Well Star Wars is...Star Wars." Thank god we have that in common!

:yoda: :yoda: "Fear is the path to the darkside. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering." We will pray for you. To leave you friendless and astray would not be the Jedi way.

I have you guys beat!! Not only did Mac get to skip school but I let he and DH scam out of my hospital stay after I had been rear ended when I was 7 MONTHS PREGNANT and the accident sent me into regular contractions. Cause, hey..they're not doctors and we already had the tickets. Of course being UBERsensitive and hormonal I burst into tears when the 11:00 new was covering all the geeks standing in line. The nurse was all .."what's the matter dear" but was less sympathetic when she fount out the tears were shed at missing the Star Wars premier!!!:rotfl:

Oh well...I guess you do have me beat...except I got to go!!!!

Hey girls! I was just listening to /watching Martha Stewart and she had a Childrens book author on her show. This author has written AWESOME book(s) called Fancy Nancyand it's sequel involving the neighbor's puppy!. If you have a dd who LOVES to accessorize and glam up, and never settles for plain ANYTHING This would be a wonderful choice! I can't wait to get my hands on this book. I love the illustrations!

I think whenever we have anything over-the-top glitzy and girlie, we should call it "Fancy Nancy"....hee hee

Great Job!

I have had the fabric for a least a year, probably two.
We have this odd "Discount Fabric" shop down the street (always smells odd in there) and I got a few yards of that and a neat black fabric with crayons all over it, when they had a going out of business banner out. Wouldn't you know they are still there. Banner is gone. Still haven't used the black crayon fabric. Someday.

Speaking of fabric I have had forever.
When my DS4 was born I decided I was suddenly a patient person and was going to make quilts. :rotfl: It may someday happen but nobody should be holding there breath for this. But I bought an odd assortment of fabric on sale to practice with.
These 3 prints are from that time. They seemed to go together and they were so cheap...I have been slowing using then to practice, thats my first ever appliqued Mickey.
fabric1.jpg

I would like to do something with them. I have plenty of the gingham, but not a lot of the other. (Is it odd the flag fabric is green and not blue? it even says blue on it....I have never been sure about this, is it just wrong to have the flag red, white and green? did I mention the fabric was cheap?)

We will be at FW for Thanksgiving and I was thinking these might work for something for DD. Any ideas? I am hoping for something easy/beginner.
I was thinking the patchwork skirt, but I don't think I have that patience for all those squares - I know I am lazy.

I am going to look through Teresa's bookmarks and see if I get inspired.
But I'd love to hear your ideas. Thanks.
