I love this! The striped pattern as a border looks so perfect! I don't see why she can't wear it at Disney, but it looks like it will get lots of wear either way. So cute! Look I made a thumbprint: first try!

Ok, I decided to put the Epcot top away for a while so I could think and gather everyone's responses. Thanks to everyone who helped.

Here is the animal kingdom outfit for Jacob (thank you Camping Griswalds for the tree):

It seems to be missing something to me. It doesn't say "Disney" to me or even "Animal Kingdom." I'm not really sure what to add. Probably something from the tiger print fabric I used for the shorts, but I'm not sure. Opinions are welcomed (and needed). Thanks again!

Oops Teresa, I just noticed that you got busted! I hope your son has the same sense of humor that you and your sister have! :)

Wonder if somewhere on the tree, or the tee if you could have "Tree of Life" written?:confused3 I'm glad I was able to help a little!:thumbsup2

I was thinking the same thing. They have a couple kiosks at our mall that will do text. I get all my girls Pottery Barn stuff monogramed their instead.

My Mom has had my sewing machine for about a week. I have cut a ton of stuff out. I have six months to work so I have a pretty elaborate plan. (Although three months is my busy work season.)

But . . . . last night my sewing dreams turned into nightmares. I had nightmares all night about not finishing in time. They were the type of dreams that make you upset when you wake up!

For some reason I was most upset about the Crystal Palace!

Maybe they would look like these?
Okay, I thought I would "spice" up a set I am currently making and got all excited painting these shoes. I just was in the mood to be a little "non traditinal" LOL!

So cute! great job!

A tattoo is way cooler and hipper. Alas, I am not cool at all. My friend, Scott, did make me an awesome b-day cake with little fondant cactus on it and we had a big party on Saturday. I felt pretty young and hip dancing with my girlfriends to 80's tunes. But I saw the video clips the next day and lets just say.... not so cool and hip.... :rotfl2:

Aw, that happens to me too. We'll be out having a great time and then I'll see the pictures later and think "who are all those old people?" LOL!

no kidding! ... I sure hope so!!! :)

Right now, they are at that stage, that they are only nice to each other, when they are asleep. :confused3

That made me :rotfl2: because that's how my two are.

OK, not Disney but this is the tee I made for DD to wear on her first day of kindergarten. I thought it might help the teacher learn her name more quickly. ;) I'm making a pleated skirt to go with it using the bubble print for the main part of the skirt and then will insert different colored dot prints in the pleats.

Cute! That's a great idea! I added Megan's name with fabric marker to her shirt but you really can't miss Zoe's! Megan has one loose tooth that I'm dying to snatch out, but she won't let me near it. Thanks for the advice about the tooth fairy: I'm going to need it.

Thanks again to everyone who responded with opinions. I think I am going to add something to the shorts to tie it to the shirt. Maybe "AK" in the green fabric with mickey ears on the A? You guys are so creative and helpful.

I love that fabric as well and have never come across it. I love your dress and your DD is a very pretty little girl. Hopefully she will find a few chances to wear her new outfit!!

I saw this fabric at Waldemort and loved it, but DD wanted pink camo instead. :rolleyes1 I love the curve with the ruffle!

WOW! You've been a busy little bee! I love them all!! Alice is perfect! And I'm totally CASEing that countdown chart when our trip gets a little closer.

30! ACK! That's so YOUNG! Now I can pinch your cheeks and call you sweetie, being that I'm almost 10 years older than you.... "Sweetie". LOL! Sorry I aged you 10 years...when you said BIG, I thought you meant BIG. ;)

Sounds like you got a lot of cool stuff!!!!! Have fun playing with all your birthday gifts! :yay:

I'm turning 50 on my next birthday. If it makes you feel better, I'll pinch your 40 year young cheeks sugar!!!:rotfl:

Hate to ask again, but could someone please post the code again for the ycmt.com site? Was it for 20% off? TIA!

The code is : WWMAG
I just bought 8 new patterns! Yes, it's 20% off and good until October.

I was like 10 pages behind. My grandma died-she was a love. Everyone's designs are beautiful!
About the adoption comment-Dh and I adopted our daughter. She's 13 now. We had 2 sons and decided we wanted a daughter. A couple of weeks after we had our daughter,I was rocking her and thinking that my C-section wasn't bothering me!!!! It doesn't matter how anyone has their children. Loving them is the important thing. Here's her picture from the 7th grade graduation party. She's in the middle.

Any one ever make these long and call it a dress?

I must have missed this yesterday. It's darling and so is you little wiggle worm! I have never made a dress like this, but it seems like I've seen little ones wearing them. I think it would be so simple and cute. Go for it!

IHere is my first creation. My dd picked out the fabric (it was already pre-shirred)

Her 5th birthday is next week and we're having a party for her this weekend, so I also made her this skirt to match the shirt I had already bought for her.

I love the trim you used on the animal print dress! Happy Birthday to your DD! The skirt goes perfectly with the top. Great work!

We are going to Choo Choo Soul also. As someone else said, I already bought the Osh Kosh railroad o'alls. DDs is a dress. For DD I want her hair to be in a pony like Geneveve (sp?) and I am on the lookout for the hat. She has larger gold hoops from DS pirate party that she will wear as well. So far, I found a treble clef (like on her vest) at jo anns that I am using not so sure what else yet, definatly the logo. For DS I am doing the engine appliqued on his if I canfind a good pic to use and I am gonna have him wearing them with one strap undone like the cutie:love: driver. They will be changing right before the concert and this will be #3 outfit just for that day:scared1: Please let me know of any other great ideas that you may come up with.

We don't watch Choo Choo Soul, but if it is train conductor hat (Like they wear at WDW), I just saw them with the Dollar stuff at Target.

UtahMom, you and I will be at Disney a couple of days at the beginning of your trip at the same time. We're just there for a long weekend, Sept 20-23... perhaps we will spot each other with little ones in customs.

I love the Alice dress it's gorgeous!

Please tell your DD to ignore the idiots! I can understand how she feels, though, since I'm an adoptive mom, too. I even had a family member (by marriage not blood, at least) who commented that I was smart to become a parent "the easy way". I tried to ignore the comment as her ignorance and youth plus hormones since she was pregnant at the time. However, after she'd said it a few times on different occasions I finally explained just some of the things I had to do to qualify to adopt, i.e. a financial check, medical exam, get a background/criminal check, meet with a social worker several times, I have my home visited to make sure it's suitable for a child, etc. I was VERY tempted to tell her that getting knocked up at 18 like she did was a much easier way to become a parent. ;) Of course, as the mature person I am (:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:) I didn't say that... out loud.

AMEN sister ! ! ! I too, am a mommy who delivered 4 lovely daughters from my heart, not my tummy. People just don't understand that we are the REAL parents....we are the TRUE parents... we are the parents who CARE, LOVE, RESPECT, TAKE CARE OF, NURTURE, PAY FOR...We are the GENUINE parents of our children. We may not be their BIRTH parents, but were a h@ll of a lot more than that! To the OP, Keep your head up, and ignore all the arreogant jerks out there in the world and parent your children as you have been. Much love to all the adoptive parents.   (3 minimum)

That brought tears to my eyes :) We also adopted all 4 of our children. Three were adopted older at 2, 3 and 5. We adopted Katie as a newborn. I really forget they are adopted sometimes. I will catch myself saying things like "when I had Justin" or "when I had the baby".... I always she I experienced pregnancy even though I was never pregnant. I had all of the physical symptoms from fertility treatments and the emotional from the adoption. It really doesn’t matter how or children got here, they are our children. Adoption is really a labor of love.

BTW- Your daughter is beautiful and looks very happy :) I am also sorry to hear about your grandmas passing.

I was so sad - when DS lost his tooth DD said to me (when he was out of earshot) "I don't think there is a tooth fairy, I think it is just mom and dad sneaking money under our pillow". My two are twins - age 7 1/2 - is it over for me?? Keep in mind DS will believe anything - DD is another story. Although - when she took her SAT test at school last year (yearly standard testing) she scored at 9th grade reading level:scared1: . Out of 130 reading questions she missed 1.

My stance on the subject has always been "they don't come if you don't believe." This applies to Santa, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny. Then I usually say that I, for one, perfer to believe in the magic- which also applies to Disney and how they do things. To this day I have never told my mom I don't believe in Santa and guess what? I get a stocking from Santa every year

I have to say that my favorite thing so far about being a parent is watching this magical time. On Christmas eve last year we passed the blinking red lights at N S A. My DD2 at the time screamed it Santa. He is here! Look it is Santa's sleigh and rudolf! She said God bless Santa every night until Feb!

So help me if anyone every tells her that is not Cinderella's castle!

This is my version of the Mickey head bracelet... I love how it came out. This is my first bracelet that I actually used wire and crimp beads, and real clasps..I have always made them out of elastic...

This is a close up..I had a hard time wraping the wire of the pins that hold the Mickey heads on....

It's McCall's Costumes MP226. I added the ric- rac based on past pictures I have of the Alice(s) in WDW. I chose not to add the collar which would make it more authentic. I also have the apron detachable. It's just sewn to the grossgran ribbon. I did an heirloom hem on the bottom, which didn't show very well. Just to make it more special.

This is a really good Dorothy pattern, I would think. Pretty easy, except it's only my second zipper. The zipper is ok and functional, but I'm thankful for her longer hair. :rolleyes1

The fabric was only $2.00 at WM and I'm not sure if she'll clash when standing next to the "real" Alice, but oh well!

I wanted the apron ebroidered with Alice and her "autograph", but I didn't want a iron on one(nor did I like the Vodemort selection) so it's just plain.

Confession: I stuck a walmart bag into each sleeve to make it poofy-er. SHHHH!

It's sooo cute...I haven't shown the picture to my dd's because they will want it ASAP!!

You dd will be walking along...:rolleyes1 minding her own business...and the police will tackle her...."sorry madame...we suspect you have something hidden in your sleeves....Hmmm...what's this...one pork chop, a bottle of diet cherry pepsi, a Lime green mickey head button, and hmm...scratching head...100 plastic walmart bags...:confused3 :lmao:

No Eyeore's Tiara. We are going to New York and then to WDW. We re also stopping to Malaysia on the way out and on the way home. We were in WDW last year in May with only our family , we are bring two other families from Australia this time. So 12 in total look out WDW. I have been to Texas though. My DH and I were there in 1998 before kids. He was working at Lovedale Airport(I think that is what it is called in Dalls) for a few weeks and we stayed in Dallas for about 4 weeks then headed of to have a look around. I just love it. We have been to LA, Gran Canyon. Las Vegas, Yosemite, Seattle, and some time in Canada. I would come ever year if we could afford it. Actually I would love my DH to come and work in the US for a year or so. He is an Aircraft Maintence Engineer so he could do a job swap but he is not sure. I will keep my fingers crossed.

Sam from Down Under

Can you put me in your suitcase when you go home, and drop me off near the Opera House...or up in Charters Towers.....LOL
