I LOOOVE the Stitch. My 2 oldest DS just love him but I never see anything custom. We leave in 2 weeks, wanna make something??;)

I am running 6 weeks out, otherwise I would! I'm so sorry! :goodvibes

I've got the stitch overalls for our Ohana breakfast. I'm so excited! I can't wait for my son to wear it!

Have a great trip!

:rotfl: My trip has been 2 years in the making! We were supposed to go last year December, but couldn't swing it. I have been planning my kids' clothes for 2 years!! That's why I've got customs for every waking moment of our trip! ;)

YouCanMakeThis.com you silly girl!

Where are these at in Walmart? I looked at ours the other day, but couldn't find any. It's a brand spankin' new Walmart though, so they don't seem to have everything in yet.

At mine they are with the purses, umbrellas, wallets etc.

What color thread would you ladies use on these fabrics?

The top for DD will be in the School Days print. Thanks.

You guys have been busy this morning, I am still four pages back.

Okay guys this is off topic, :offtopic: but I need help with a reward for my oldest dd. She has stepped in and taken up the slack for me this past year while I have been ill. She has been super responsible and I couldn’t have made it through without her help. The kicker to all of this is that Saturday I was having a horrible day and I couldn’t seem to function at all. I wanted to sew but I couldn’t and then I tried to get on here, but that wasn’t great either. She knew I wanted to get more items finished and that I was disappointed in myself for not being able to. So without a word, she came and set down in front of me with all this stuff and started to massage my feet and then gave me a pedicure with polish! :sad1:

The question is, what do I do for her to let her know how much I appreciate her? I thought about a pedicure for her at WDW while we are there. Is that a good reward, or is it too much, or not enough? I would like to surprise her at WDW, but I don’t know what to do. :confused3 BTW, she is 12 years old. Thanks guys, Cassandra

She sounds like a sweetheart. I love the pedicure idea. You could make it a big girls afternoon and have your nails done then High Tea at GF.
The spa at the GF has special services for the younger set... http://www.relaxedyet.com/gf_treatments.asp#youngerGuests
Whatever you do, I am sure she knows how much you appreciate her.

That's one special girl you got there Mama for her to do this for other people!! Tell her the Dis is proud of her!!!

BTW - how long does it take her to grow out her hair long enough for Locks Of Love!

Thanks so much - I have been telling her all the sweet things everyone is saying! Well, she had 11 inches cut off almost two years ago - and another 11 yesterday. But she had about 3-4 inches more left last time after the cut. I would say it has grown about 8 inches in 2 years.

Here are the projects I got started AND finished yesterday. I am mildly pleased. The knee socks are my favorite. I used the scrapbooking Mickey button heads. Removed the sticky stuff, and hand sewed them to knee socks. I don't care for My Little Pony in general, but daughter does. It was my first time using Heat n Bond, and cutting out the letter. Pretty simple. About midway through sewing, I realized how stinking big the dress is. Not sure what measurements I was using?? :confused3 Anyway she loves it. It will fit her perfectly when she is probably ten. :lmao: And I wish I was being funny when I said that! I didn't even try it on her it's that big. DH said she can wear it as a nightgown. The last picture is my version of the Waldamort dress. It's pretty cute. All I did was add rickrack and an old Mickey head someone sold me. I think it was cut out from a sweatshirt. It's the first time I used E6000. I do think you can glue the kitchen table down with this stuff! Although I used a lot. Do most of you just dab around the corners when you use this? I spread it over the entire back of the applique. I do think the fumes were affecting me. Maybe this is why the Pony outfit is so huge?? So all in all, not a bad day. I sewed , I put buttons on, I ironed, I used Heat N Bond for first time, and used E 6000 for first time. I also cut out material to sew a jumper dress, but then DH and keds and their friends all came home. And of course they were hungry so....I was done.

LOL - you are too funny! Love what you did - those socks are so cute! I just bought some E 6000 yesterday - haven't used it yet though.

OHHHH! I was a hairdresser before Norah was born (guess I always will be), and was active in this campaign (Locks of Love). I've seen what your dd's donation will do for the lives of little girl cancer patients. What a great blessing!!!

Plus you'll save on shampoo ;) .. She looks beautiful with her new cute bob!

The first hairdresser that worked on her hair messed it up - I was not happy! This is a childrens hair place that I go to and they have had a lot of turnover lately. There is one gal there who has been there a long time and does such a great job. Anyway, I got one of the new gals. It was so choppy, not blended at all - and she cut the pony's bad so the the top layers were shorter than the hairline - so no way the back could be undercut. Mihn (the other hairdresser) took one look at it and said - "I can fix it". She did a great job - I'm so glad she was there!

Oooooh - cute! I have some school fabric here that looks the same to make something for DD - I can't wait to see what you make! I would probably use black thread - but I am no expert!

Thanks everyone for the sweet things you said about my DD - I relayed all the messages to her and they made her smile!:goodvibes

I was wondering - does anyone here know what a Cricut is? It is a die cut machine for scrapbooking/cardmaking. Anyway, I own one and thought I would see if anyone knows if it will cut material. Thought I would ask if anyone knew before I try and mess up a blade - LOL. They have a disney cartridge - not to mention all the other cartridges - oh the possibilities! It would make cutting out an applique really easy!!!
Lori

EDIT: IT CUTS!!!! You guys HAVE to check this machine out!!! I may have to get the Disney Cartridge!!! It cut it all in secions - PERFECT for applique! You have to apply an interfacing first though to stiffen the fabric! I am off to a hair appointment for DD - but when I get back I will post pics!!! She is cutting for Locks of Love for the second time.

I could have answered this for ya yesterday if the laptop had been working! That's how I did the mickey heads on my daughters minnie top and circle skirt. I have the disney cartridges. Just make sure you have a supply blades, and an extra sticky cutting mat. I seemed to have had trouble doing small things. Large item worked like a dream though!

Hobby Lobby has a 40% off coupon in our paper this morning. They won't take duplicates or I'd post it. Everyone looking for the Cricut look for the coupon because this would save lots of money.

Usually coupons are not accepted on any cricut products:mad: When cricut came out several stores didn't say "cricut products" (it said "cricut machine") as being excluded so I got many cartridges for 40 and 50% off. Then they got smart, I haven't had much luck since. Wal-mart now has the Disney characters and Disney font for $69.99 each.

Don't tease me!! I was just talking about getting a cuttle bug w/ my b-day money. Now you know what I'd really like is a cricut, but at $99 per cartridge... forget that I can't afford the machine

So irritated... got a Disney Brother machine for my b-day and I can't get it to work right. The tension is wonky and no matter what I do I can't get the bobbin thread to stay straight. I know CastleCreations has this machine. Any help you might offer?? Oh, and it caught the upper thread in the bobbin case when I was trying a Mickey Head embroidery. Ugh...

PS...It's my b-day today, too, tberi.
We were born on the same day! :cool1:
Happy birthday!

One suggestion....I had a wonky one too, I boxed it up and returned it. I told them it didn't work and got another. That one is fine. How long ago did you get it? If it's recently, I would consider switching it out for another one.
Are you using the plastic bobbins that came with the machine. Make sure they're the right size and that the thread that comes off the bobbin when you insert it, goes to the left, before you wrap it around.

Hi All!
I have been away from the computer most of the day - I need to play catch up! Sorry for all the pics - but I had to share. The first two are of DD two years ago when she donated her hair to Locks of Love - the next three are from today when she had another 11 inches cut to donate. This is the shortest it has ever been - and was a little bittersweet for both of us!

What a wonderful thing your daughter is doing. She looks adorable and what a giving girl she is...
I have to ask, who did that lovely braid in the shape of a heart. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen.

JoAnn has them on sale for $69 too right now.

The hairdresser did it the first time she did her Locks of Love cut. This time she didn't want it - she said it was cute - but it kinda hurt - LOL.

Look by the purses and belts. For some reason that's where they keep them, at my walmart.

I copied your picture and plan on trying it on my dd's. I will post photos if I'm successful. I have never seen anything like it before and I would get up at 5am and do this for my dd for school every day if I knew how...It is honestly the cutest thing I have ever seen, and how age appropriate instead of all of these hairpieces with the pink, and purple rock star hair attached, that my dd's love...:confused3
