scrapnmom - Love the skirt! I'll be making one out of the ariel fabric either tonight or tomorrow. but just an A-line skirt, not a twirl one.
I still have to make a shirt for me out of it too.
and a nemo one for me and tammy
and pirate pants for tammy
and minnie bloomers for me!
geez! I've got a lot to do!
Oh yeah - finish my nemo applique and do the ariel embroidery.

Hello All! I, like others have been lurking for a few weeks. I Purchased more fabric than I know what to do with, got out my sewing machine that I havent had out since my daughter was born and even bought the Brother Disney Embroidery machine. Can you say I'm crazy... I'm not taking my daughter to Disney for another two years. So I guess I have two years to CASE all of your wonderful ideas. You all have truely inspired me.

I took a sewing lesson on my Viking yesterday because it has been so long since I used the thing, so I hope to create some outfits for my daughter that will be up to all of your standards :flower3:

Camping Griswalds; I love love love the outfits you made for your daughers. Would you mind sharing, did you use a pattern or is this your own design?

Thanks! Lisa

That wasn't me... I think you are talking about Lisa (Castle Creations) outfits. You must have just seen my quote about her outfits.

I stayed up until 1:00am to finish this nightgown. I was hoping to say I made it in one day, but technically it was the next day by the time I finished. This is the first time I've tried sleeves, or making a slit and strip thingy in the back so I can put buttons on. I used the flannel sheets from disneyshopping.com I got for $12.99. This was made from just the fitted sheet ( took out the elastic and cut along the corner seams to make it flat). So, I'm going to make myself some pj pants so we can match!

I love it because it reminds me of something I would have wore when I was little. She picked out the trim herself (before we had the fabric).
Here it is:

It's 2 oclock on friday I have no sitter, the rest of the office (read: mom and dad) are in the Keys and I have had the kids w/ me at the office since 8. Theres not much work left for the day 3 of my 4 employees have gone home so I am going to transfer the phones to my cell ( i am the answering service this weekend, since the actual answering service can't take a freakin' message correctly!!) take the kids to my hubby who just got home (hopefully the tot will fall asleep in the car) and head out to Joanns and Waldemort ( I love that- Walmart is the true evil) ISO trim, buttons, lining, Purple pooh toile (not toilet!!) and some other fabrics to start working on the AK, MK, EC, outfits PLUS 2 random outfits, the pooh (if I can find it) and a Pirate one (thanks nana!) I will post the full plan w/ pics of all the creations I will be steal-er, um copy-er, uhh..using as my inspiration!
Ahh, time to get down to business, Afghan be damned (she's been contracting for 2 days and can barely walk I doubt I'm gonna make it anyway!)
Tonight planning, seperating notions, patterns, fabrics into ziploc bags. Cutting as much as possible. Tomorrow-sewing my little fingers off. Hopefully I'll finish one complete outfit. My MIL might help so we can get them done, I'm okay with that! GIT-R-DONE...I can't believe I just said that.

Ok, here is the proof that I have lost my ever loving mind. It is in the 90's today here in Florida as it has been all summer and will continue to be until October probably. So I decide to make Megan a corduroy jumper, the prefect summer outfit. I really couldn't help it: it has pink and red flowers embroidered all over it and it was 50% off. So here she is:

Also, when I was taking the pictures she was sure all of you would be interested in her first wiggly tooth, so here is a picture of that:

Oh, I meant to mention I loved UtahMomma's skirt report! I think those things all the time in my head, but they rarely end up in the post. For example, I was using my seam ripper the other day thinking how odd it was that Teresa stuck it in her thigh when I stabbed myself in the thumb with it! I was so mad and it was so hard not to get blood all over everything when you are spouting from your thumb!

Oh, I have another question. When my mother was here inspecting my creations (well, she was watching the kids while we went out of town) she insisted that I need to attend a sewing class. Has anyone done this and is it worth it? I really like puttering around and doing easy stuff, I think if I learned real techniques it would seem more like work and less fun. Opinions? Thanks!

Ouch! Sorry about your thumb:scared:
Very cute. I think her wiggly tooth is adorable! The jumper is beautiful. She looks like she is ready to go to school, does school start soon? I like her matching shoes and socks too.

I don't know about the sewing class. Your stuff is really cute but you might like a class. For me I would enjoy a break from my kids :lmao:

In the morning, I wet their hair, just a little, and when I pull it back I use a bunch of Aqua Net, the pink and white can.
I've used other hairsprays before but they aren't kid friendly. This is the only one I can find that doesn't damage their hair, washes out easily, and if you add some glitter to their hair, before the hairspray dries, the glitter will last until you wash their hair...

AQUANET!!!! I love it. I have not thought about that stuff since I had mall bangs in the 5th grade!

You are right if you want hair to stay put that is the best!

Mall Bangs laughing: OMG I remember those ! My best friends daughter used to have the highest bangs ,the higher the bangs the closer to God :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I'm gonna have to CASE the glitter idea. I have to CASE something since I have no sewing talent ! :lmao:

I have two outfits to show you for my DD2.

This first one I bought off ebay (I don't do HP so have no idea what the code is :confused3: ) I absolutely love it and think the seller did a great job.

Now this next one I sewed myself! I used Simplicity 4161 and just modified the flounce to add the yellow dot panel. And though I didn't bother taking a picture of the back, I did my first zipper! :cool1: I plan to add a black turtleneck and ruffled pants so I can layer her since we're going in January.

Thanks for letting me share, I should have an outfit for the 8 year old to share later today after I take care of some details. Right now we're in the middle of a math lesson though so it has to wait :)

This just too cute. Love it ! Great job.

Wow, great job!! What a cutie your DD is! If you can do a zipper, you can do anything! I have yet to try a zipper, myself.

Both of these are great it's nice to see something different w/ the minnie dot! Also, I was worried about using the minnie dot on DD2 because it's so big...could you tell me what size your DD wears so I can compare. If she's the same size as lily then we're good.

I was going to do a spiral twirl skirt for AK... now I'm wondering if it's too "frilly" for AK. I know you gals like frill, but I don't want to get there and think boy I wish I'd made her jeans. What doya think? I wish you girls were here(although it'd get pretty crowded!!). Noone will help me choose patterns, I'm pretty sure they all think I'm nuts...But I've printed out pictures and laid out the fabrics and other than one outfit my DH liked (pirate mickey top w/ coins along the bottom and map on the jeans) which I now am thinking about completely changing to a layered tulle skirt and corset top. HMMM. My life was simpler pre this thread, when I just logged onto disneyshopping and ought some cute tees from the clearance bin and was done!!

Okay, I think I have enough posts to finally share my pictures and stop lurking but I've run into a snag. Someone told me that in order to post pictures to use photobucket to store the pictures and add it to my posts. I've never used photobucket before so I joined yesterday and got a username and password along with an email confirmation that I joined. When I login my screen goes white and there is a zero (0) in the upper left corner of the screen and that is it. No buttons for downloading, nothing! Any ideas what is going on?

Thanks for your help!

BTW...did anyone ever find a link to a stroller cover pattern. I have a simplicity halloween pattern for a princess (stroller is a castle touret) pirate (pirate ship- that's why I bought it Little was a pirate last year, never made the ship though) and I think a pea pod one. I'd love to do something special, I guess I could always make the one that looks like a castle, since she IS a princess!!!

Since I cannot get photobucket to work for me, does anyone know of anyplace else I can store the photos and share them on the board? I see that snapfish has a new section for groups that gives you a URL, will that work? Any help is appreciated!

I've used my pics from kodak gallery I don't know if it's legal, but you can right click on the picture pull up the properties and go the the location or whatever. Sometimes I just upload them to my myspace page and link them from there.

Had anyone used (or know how to make) the "Princess Corset top and dress" by Erin's designs on YCMT? I was wondering how hard it would be to make.
THANKS!!

sahm - ACK! I don't know what the problem is. There's a technical help section on the boards - maybe they've seen it? :confused3

tarzandra - I LOVE the dress you made! The little touch of yellow is a nice surprise.

t-beri - I know what you mean! This thread will be the death of me!

hey ladies & tom,

i had 20 pages to catch up on since thursday...you guys have been busy....my dh had outpatient surgery yesterday so i am taking care of him and his mom has our girls, which i am about to go get...so i have been just taking care of him the best i can...he has been sleeping alot and is very, very, sore :sad2:....i have been working on a pair of jeans here and there that i turned into capris's for dd~4...i have broken 2 machine needles & yes i did have the one for blue jeans in there :rotfl2: ...so i have to go get some replacements before i can continue on her jeans...so when i get them done i will post asap!!

I have a disney skirt to share! I'm so excited! This skirt took me half the time of my previous one, although it was also half the size.

I forgot who suggested it to me but I did 3" plain purple, 6" Ariel and 3" purple with sparkly stars and I really liked how it turned out, so thanks.

DD is not cooperative about having her picture taken. She usually says "MY camera!" over and over and tries to grab it.

I would love some help figuring out what to do for a top (that is obviously not what I intend her to wear with it). I do have some plain white tshirts.

Love that Ariel fabric! It really looks great with the purple. You did an awsome job , I'm sure she loves it too!

I usually use it at the dining room table. I think you'll be ok as long as you don't use it in a really small room. If you're concerned, just open a window for a bit.

But, I would be careful about the fingers.

Ok, now that worries me...:scared: (talking about E6000) What should I be careful about? Should I use a Q-tip or something to apply it? I thought someone had said not to use the tip it comes with?

Our Sea World day was a lot of fun... The outfits were a huge hit and we got compliments all day.

Lisa, they look so cute and I laughed when I saw Ireland in the 2nd picture. She's so in her "vogue" mode!

I don't seem to have a good picture of these in photobucket but they were ruffled mickey dresses w/ pants under them to match (which we ended up taking off because it got too hot)

I'd love to see a better pic of this!

Very cute!

Although, without the three kids with me, I will have to bring along a disguise, like utahmamma, so I can get all the patterns I want!!

I've thought about going to the sewing dept. picking out 20 patterns, then going to the jewelry counter to pay for 10 of them, then proceed to the checkout and pay for the rest of them. Think that would work? I'm also taking along dd16 so she can get some! I don't know why, every time I take a pattern out of the package I always get scared and put it back. I've yet to this day to use a real pattern!

I love the jumper and wish her luck on her tooth!

Have you tried MNSSHP? Other than the villains, which are there all the time anyway, there's not too many scary people around.

Nope, never had the luxury of attending MNSSHP! But, we might next year. This year we're springing for MVMCP!

Heather, that is adorable! I'm wanting to make some for the girls, but that would require the use of a pattern :scared: ... see above post!

Is that first one two piece or one? Those pants are too cute! Your dress is adorable! I love the idea of the turtleneck and pants!
