My monkeys are upside down but, whatever.

Hmmm, my Mom took the kids to the zoo (neice Tessa is wearing that INCREDIBLE Simba dress Heather mader her by the way!). Now, should I go to the fabric store ALL ALONE (can't remember the last time in the past 15 years I've done that!) or stay here and clean the house???? HMMMMMM.......

Although, without the three kids with me, I will have to bring along a disguise, like utahmamma, so I can get all the patterns I want!!

Hey! The disguise idea is a good one! Yet, I just take the stuff out to my car and march right back in and get my set aside goodies and try to go to a different cashier!

A trip to the fabric store without a constant stream of interruptions? No one playing hide and seek under the fabric bolt racks? Not having to buy something you didn't want because your youngest wiped her boogers on it (this of course is reference to a FRIEND of mine :cool2: ). Not having to pretend you actually LOVE the Pokemon fleece and can't wait to create something out of it? Not having to re do the entire thread spools display?

Or you can mop the kitchen floor, of course. :rolleyes1

hkite - I missed your nightgown so I had to go back and find it. Great job!

piper - that is SOOOO cute!

Too bad I wouldn't let Jeanie near a crayon without constant supervision.
Our bedroom has a nice original pen drawing on the wall now!
and her mom's white couch got another Jeanie original.
Since we're driving, letting her loose in the back would not be good.

Aww I miss her! Good thing we're getting her tonight!

Utah - hehehe. What did your "Friend" have to buy with the boogers on it?

HI!!!!
Ok...see? Higher than horizontal..."The Full Twirly" (Spongie is looking over my shoulder and says it looks like a watermelon in this picture)

What an awesome skirt and so worth everything that happend while making it! Great job!!

Oh my! It's so stinkin cute! Great job Utahmomma! Hand gathered and hand sewn tulle! :scared1: You are very dedicated, I don't think I would have been patient enough to do that. Her matching hairbow is adorable. My hairbows turn out kinda funky. I have been trying to make the loopy bows and the ribbon likes to stand up straight. I have to keep pulling it around to seperate it. Kindly share how you made the adorable hairbow pretty please?:flower3:

OH! I had the same problem until I discovered my Mini Bowdabra (available at Michaels or a craft store near you ;) ) It holds tight all the layers of ribbon and you can tie it tight! It was worth the $9.99 minus 40% off coupon! I also got the bowdabra tie wire and I love it!

In the morning, I wet their hair, just a little, and when I pull it back I use a bunch of Aqua Net, the pink and white can.
I've used other hairsprays before but they aren't kid friendly. This is the only one I can find that doesn't damage their hair, washes out easily, and if you add some glitter to their hair, before the hairspray dries, the glitter will last until you wash their hair...
Aqua Net, huh? I'll do it! I used to use that stuff in the 80's for "big hair". I love hair glitter too (even for me!)so I'll try it! Thanks!

Ok, here is the proof that I have lost my ever loving mind. It is in the 90's today here in Florida as it has been all summer and will continue to be until October probably. So I decide to make Megan a corduroy jumper, the prefect summer outfit. I really couldn't help it: it has pink and red flowers embroidered all over it and it was 50% off. So here she is:

Also, when I was taking the pictures she was sure all of you would be interested in her first wiggly tooth, so here is a picture of that:

Ok, my heart melts a little every time you post your dd! She really is cute! Look at her little loose tooth!

I stayed up until 1:00am to finish this nightgown. I was hoping to say I made it in one day, but technically it was the next day by the time I finished. This is the first time I've tried sleeves, or making a slit and strip thingy in the back so I can put buttons on. I used the flannel sheets from disneyshopping.com I got for $12.99. This was made from just the fitted sheet ( took out the elastic and cut along the corner seams to make it flat). So, I'm going to make myself some pj pants so we can match!

I love it because it reminds me of something I would have wore when I was little. She picked out the trim herself (before we had the fabric).

That's such a great idea! It turned out cute and cozy!

It's 2 oclock on friday I have no sitter, the rest of the office (read: mom and dad) are in the Keys and I have had the kids w/ me at the office since 8. Theres not much work left for the day 3 of my 4 employees have gone home so I am going to transfer the phones to my cell ( i am the answering service this weekend, since the actual answering service can't take a freakin' message correctly!!) take the kids to my hubby who just got home (hopefully the tot will fall asleep in the car) and head out to Joanns and Waldemort ( I love that- Walmart is the true evil) ISO trim, buttons, lining, Purple pooh toile (not toilet!!) and some other fabrics to start working on the AK, MK, EC, outfits PLUS 2 random outfits, the pooh (if I can find it) and a Pirate one (thanks nana!) I will post the full plan w/ pics of all the creations I will be steal-er, um copy-er, uhh..using as my inspiration!
Ahh, time to get down to business, Afghan be damned (she's been contracting for 2 days and can barely walk I doubt I'm gonna make it anyway!)
Tonight planning, seperating notions, patterns, fabrics into ziploc bags. Cutting as much as possible. Tomorrow-sewing my little fingers off. Hopefully I'll finish one complete outfit. My MIL might help so we can get them done, I'm okay with that! GIT-R-DONE...I can't believe I just said that.

Pooh Toliet??? :rotfl2:

We say GIT-R-DONE too! We are such red-necks :rolleyes1

Yikes, contracting for 2 days  ??? Poor thing! I vote for planned c-sections... and plenty of the good stuff (pain meds).

I found this fabric on ebay and didn't win the auction. It's been a while, and it has become the thing which haunts my dreams!!! I have to have it! Has anyone seen this? Does anyone have some they are willing to part with?

I haunt EBAY for fabric and I've only seen this print the one time. It is a hard to find character.

I just got finished with the cutest HSM decoupage jeans and they are the wrong size!!!!!!!!!! My daughter keeps pulling the consignment clothes out and hanging them up in her closet. Didn't know that, just pulled a pair, started 4 hours of work on them and just realized they are too tight for her!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so upset.

Hopefully, her friend's mom will buy them.

I will make her some more, but I am miffed beyond belief. I would post them so you could see how clever I am, but I don't know how. Have tried, but dear hubby says we can't. Duh.

Okay, I think I have enough posts to finally share my pictures and stop lurking but I've run into a snag. Someone told me that in order to post pictures to use photobucket to store the pictures and add it to my posts. I've never used photobucket before so I joined yesterday and got a username and password along with an email confirmation that I joined. When I login my screen goes white and there is a zero (0) in the upper left corner of the screen and that is it. No buttons for downloading, nothing! Any ideas what is going on?

Thanks for your help!

I use Shutterfly. After I load the picture, right click to get properties, and you should see the image info to cut and paste.

Now THAT's more like it!!!! You make me proud girl! :rotfl:

BTW...did anyone ever find a link to a stroller cover pattern. I have a simplicity halloween pattern for a princess (stroller is a castle touret) pirate (pirate ship- that's why I bought it Little was a pirate last year, never made the ship though) and I think a pea pod one. I'd love to do something special, I guess I could always make the one that looks like a castle, since she IS a princess!!!

I bought 2 Simplicity patterns today at Joann's that have stroller covers...

I didn't buy the patterns for the stroller covers, but now I might have to add that to my list of sewing projects for baby-to-be...

OH PLEASE HELP....

I just got out my hand me down sewing machine from my MIL to start my first sewing projest since high school home ec class...I wasn't expecting much from this machine as she said she has had it since the early 60's

oh my goodness....it has like 6 stiches to choose from...it appliques. monograms, free stitches, and now I am scared...too many choices...I have spent an hour reading through the manual...

my question - now that I can zig-zag is that the stitch I should use to sew together my peiced twirl skirt...is it a better stitch...more secure for clothing?

okay how stinking cute is that did you use a pattern or just creativity? :woohoo: love it..

hey i want to know what she had to buy also because i know it was not me...

What I would do is use a straight stitch to sew all the seams. If you want to finish the seams so they are neater and less likely to ravel, you can zigzag along the edge - either going over the edge or with the stitches right along the edge. That will also add a little extra strength to the seams. It's how I used to finish my seam edges before I had a serger.

BTW - Even with a serger, I always use a regular straight stitch for the main seam stitching and the serger as the seam finish.

Have fun with your new machine!

I love that fabric!!! It may be from overseas as I was able to fine some "Marie" aristocat fabric from overseas! If you find some I would love to know where you got it!
