Good morning ladies..and Tom,
Our Sea World day was a lot of fun. The girls were well behaved and we overall had a nice day. The outfits were a huge hit and we got compliments all day. The girls enjoyed the new Sesame Street show, as well as the pet show. Shamu wasn't that impressive. The show was much shorter than I remember and just wasn't that great. Here are a few photos of our day.

The last little guy says,"Hey Lisa, why aren't you home sewing?" LOL...:rotfl2:

Lisa I love the picture of them hugging close in front of the flowers. It's pictures like that which can remind me my kids do like each other sometimes! So are your outfits going to make it to Voldemort? I happen to know someone here who could probably fit into the dress Alexis has on! ( Well Irelands too...but that is only because I buy in multiple sizes...as you know!)

that seal is great! You better listen to him he looks like he has not had his coffee today!:surfweb:

HI!!!!
Ok...see? Higher than horizontal..."The Full Twirly" (Spongie is looking over my shoulder and says it looks like a watermelon in this picture)

The circle view....Oooohhhh Awwwww! Note the 4 layers of hand gathered, and hand sewn tulle (:headache: I could do a Trip Report just on that green tulle)

Doing her Charo imitation:

Leap Frog (this wasn't a good photo session, by the way)

and the matching hair bow...

Just got back from Nordstom where I got the Alice mary jane CROCS...OH MY HECK, they are freaking cute! Got minnie mouse jibbitz.

Sorry the skirt wasn't all that and a bag of chips...but it's worth it to see my dd PRANCE around...which they don't do when they're teenagers. So, I'll take it!

That is an adorable skirt! And, yes, the prancing makes it all worth it. :)

I'm glad I don't have to do my tulle by hand. Now if I could just get it to stay looking nice for more than 5 minutes. It generally gets all bunched really fast when my 3yr old wears it, makes me crazy sometimes.

I am a big time lurker here, so I was just wondering, you girls actually make all those beautiful bows?? I guess someone has too, so how can an average joe like me make gorgeous bows like y'alls??

There is a great tutorial on how to make them on the first page of this thread.

It's just around the corner and if I ever need them to ummmmm....... post a picture for me, they'd be here in a minute... and not in just a little car either! NO!! They'd be here in a big RED FIRE TRUCK!! AND their :firefight sirens and lights would be going too!

(Thanks for helping Momma post the pics of that CUTE little Halloween skirt. I think you did a GREAT job on it Mom! Ahhhhh.... it feels good to no longer be in suspense! )

Those handpainted dresses are too, too cute! I love them. And what a great idea about the baby carrier. Now who on the board will CASE this?

Ohhhh! The girls look so pretty! How'd you get they're hair to stay neat all day? Norah's hair only looks done for about 5 minutes!

I absolutely love their special Sea World outfits! You did an amazing job!

I keep meaning to go there someday! I used to go to the Sea World in San Diego every year and remember I loved it.

Glad you're back!!!

Ok, so this isn't gonna even come CLOSE to UtahMomma's twirl skirt (NO WAY do I have patience for that one!)

Here is my version of a halter pillowcase dress

Are you kidding ? It's just darling ! I love the tulle at the bottom and the hair bow is so cute with the little orange mickey head. There is just something about Halloween, and Fall, and the bright colors of the season. Fall is my favorite time of year. You daughter is very cute and she looks like she loves her new twirl skirt :). You just got the ultimate compliment form my four year old, I was going back to finish catching up after my post and she said " Ooooo Ooooo go back !" and when I scrolled back to your post she said " I want that !" . So see your target market thought it was awsome too ! LOL.

The stabilizer I use is called Totally Stable by Sulky. It comes in rolls 12" x 12yds. I prefer the kind that is "iron-on, tear away" but I usually have to re-iron it a few times as I work on a complex applique. I usually find it in the notion area hanging on a wall or rack. There are other brands and types, of course, so you could just ask where they keep the stabilizers and look at the different ones available.

Oh, I also sometimes use a wash-away stabilizer called Solvy (also Sulky brand). I use that on tees when I'm using a stitch other than a satin stitch. The tear-away is hard to tear if the stitches aren't really close together so using the wash-away means I just toss it in the washer and the stabilizer is gone. It isn't iron-on so I use it only when needed because I always seem to stick myself with one of the pins holding it on while I sew.
LISA - thanks so much...you are sooo sweet and helpful! I am making a list of things for my next trip to the fabric store...I am an hour's drive away from notions and fabrics :sad2:
Things to buy at Walmart... Awesome Mickey coloring book!!!!
:thanks:
Ohh cool thanks!
I found this on an internet search and wanted to share:
http://doseofinspiration.blogspot.com/2007/07/decoupaged-shoes-tutorial.html

I'll try fabric too. BTW,the example in the tute is pretty god awful but it's free.
I love tutorials with pics like this...great...thanks!   (3!)

Wendy, wow it came out sooooo nice and twirly....is it heavy? I made my sister wedding dress and it weighed a ton by the time I was done! So glad you got the shoes...are they as cute and comfy as you dscribed? Can you post a pic of them too??? :thumbsup2

We are too! DD has 3 friends coming over - DD and DS made music notes and put them all over - and who knew I was going to have to hit 6 stores before finding HSM plates and decorations!
Oh yeah....we are going to a friends house to watch and we are eating junk food and make-your-own-sundaes! Too bad the ice cream sticks around a lot more than when we were in high school

Awesome outfits and pics! The girls look so cute! Glad you had a good time! OK not back to sewing!!!!! :upsidedow

Hello All! I, like others have been lurking for a few weeks. I Purchased more fabric than I know what to do with, got out my sewing machine that I havent had out since my daughter was born and even bought the Brother Disney Embroidery machine. Can you say I'm crazy... I'm not taking my daughter to Disney for another two years. So I guess I have two years to CASE all of your wonderful ideas. You all have truely inspired me.

I took a sewing lesson on my Viking yesterday because it has been so long since I used the thing, so I hope to create some outfits for my daughter that will be up to all of your standards :flower3:

Camping Griswalds; I love love love the outfits you made for your daughers. Would you mind sharing, did you use a pattern or is this your own design?

Thanks! Lisa

Well, they aren't all girls, Tom makes some pretty terrific bows too! I see someone directed you to the bow bookmark allready, but just in case you missed it, there are a bunch of bow making tutorials in the bookmarks site. (link in my siggy and in first post of thread)

I love the pitures!!! The picture of your kids peaking out of the window is adorable! Thanks for sharing. What happened to your babiy's leg? My sister, Heather broke her leg when she was very little. I think she was about 18 months. It was a bad sliding accident.

How cute. And love the outfits. We have'nt been to Sea World since my two oldest were little. I would love to be able to go this trip, and my 2 youngest and my sister have never been. I would love to be able to take Samantha to Discovery Cove as a delayed birthday present she would go wild about being able to interact with the dolphins. Maybe I'll try talking to hubby about that this weekend at her party. We took her out for ice cream Wednesday night and she was miffed because she had to wait til Saturday for her birthday gifts. Well my oldest daughter gave her the gifts she got her so she did get to open some presents on her actual birthday LOL. She also bought her some WebKins last night to give her at the party. I'll post pics on the weekend of the party.
