I may take the cake on this one.
We are going for 9 days. Each of our girls are bringing 23 outfits. So 46 outfits. Oh dear Lord! Eight of those are princess costumes.(Ariel, Jasmine, Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Alice, Tink, Cinderella and Snow White) The total is 38. I do have six and a half months to complete this massive project.
I will say on our June trip we brought 44 outfits and the girls wore 43 outfits.
A great big
to my sister, Heather, hkite, for shirring this for me, even though she was feeling really bad last week! I love you!!!!

Here's the Lilo dress that gave me the fits while I was trying to shirr it, modeled by my beautiful little daughter, Lydia Rose:

I did one of those little ribbon loop things on the back to help hold it all up, and I think that style looks really cute!

I mixed my characters, and used Flounder ribbon for the straps.Lydia is absolutely thrilled with the dress!

DH does not care if I bring the kitchen sink this time. Thank goodness for Magical Express. This time around I am not blowing huge bucks at Gymboree!!!!
OK I have to know how the girls managed to wear them all! When did they change?
I am looking for tips LOL
Here are the basic instructions for a top like the one shown a few posts back of my Snow White set. I included some simple illustrations for steps I felt might be the most confusing. I wrote the instructions assuming the person will know how to shir fabric with elastic thread and also do other sewing techniques. I would suggest trying this the first time using fabric you're not going to really miss if your first attempt doesn't work as planned.

I didn't go into details about creating an appliqued panel like I had on my Snow White set nor adding a faux corset ribbon lacing like in the photo below. If anyone wants those details, I can explain that next. LOL This version also has a ruffle at the top front that isn't described in the instructions... but it shouldn't be too hard for most to figure out.

Can I just say how much I hate Rocky! Anyway . . .
Does the narrow side of the binding tape go on the right or the wrong side?
Great advice by the way!

yup! I am forever calling that field's fabrics "hancock's" ... I do that with the local blockbuster & "hollywood" video, too ... I don't know why, probably because they look so much alikeDo you mean Field's Fabrics on Portage? They do seem to know more there than some. I hardly ever go to the Battle Creek Joanns, it's so far out of the way! (of the mall, that is!)
Steph, Great job! I love the bloomers--what a perfect touch! Just like Minnie herself.
Could you share a pattern for this bag? I need to make DS5 one for kindergarten!
Thanks,
Blakely

I too hate to iron finished customs ...is the IRONING!!!!!!! I have spent all morning ironing DD customs after washing. I don't like ironing, I forgot how much I disliked ironing.... now I am remembering![]()
Oh my! There is no way I could do that many. My sewing talent is next to non-existant so I have to pay for each one and my favorite sellers aren't cheap. At the rate of $100 and up per outfit...

Ok, I have finally finished this outfit! I had completed the jumper part a week ago and it was way too short. I knew it was going to be, but I only ordered a yard of the fabric online so I was stuck. I am the opposite of most of you, when I am up at the fabric counter I panic and yell "one yard!" DH suggested bloomers (duh, why didn't I think of that!) and here we are. I rummaged through my scrapbooking supplies and found the ribbon with polka dots on it. I looked at Teresa's bookmarks to find out how to make a bow (I am ribbon-challenged) and safety pinned it on. Thanks for looking!

I hate it too and usually avoid anything that can't be sprayed with Downy Wrinkle Release. I grabbed some spray starch at Target to use for ironing fabric to sew, and it's AMAZING the difference it makes! This may be well known to everyone except me, but just in case I thought I would throw the suggestion out there.![]()
For those of you who don't have a serger, what are you doing about the raw edges? I tried the zig-zag method and it didn't go well.
