Ok. Here is my first Disney print top. My dd10 of course will not wear it to school because Pooh is too BABY for her. She will however wear it out with me!?!?! I love it though. It took me a long time but I will keep practicing. She is just out of the shower with pj bottoms on but I had to get it on here. :thumbsup2 The other is a twirly skirt I made from some fabric at Wallyworld. Of course it is too baby too:confused3 , so I will have to resize the elastic for a friend of mines daughter. --- Mindy

Mindy, I like the colors in the skirt, good job!! I also love the Pooh shirt. Every time I go to WM I have that fabric in my hand, but change my mind about buying any. My kids just aren't Pooh fans but I think it's so darn cute!

Hi Everyone!! Love all the new creations! Looks like everyone has been busy! Well I got the mermaid outfit done. I gave it to my friends DD tonight, and she is in the bottom picture wearing it. It's too big :( Her mom doesn't care, they seem to love it. I had her tried on the very top piece a week ago and it seemed to snug to me, so I started over:headache: ... Sure she will grow into it, but I wanted it to fit better. I am going to make her a better fitting one to match my DD. I had to share though. I will try to remember to post pictures tomorrow of my DD from the wedding. She was a stinker and when it came time to actually be the flower girl she chickened out. I thought that might happen!

I couldn't find any red that I liked, so I went with the mermaid, and put some more rick rack on it :goodvibes

For some reason in the pictures she looks like she could be 8 foot tall! My fabric wasn't that long. lol :confused3

I love it!!!!!! Is that the stripwork jumper? I really like how it turned out and the jeans are super cute!

Dh was walking past the computer as I was seeing this. He's used to me staring at outfits online for ideas, tips, etc, so when he saw that on the screen he says at the top of his lungs "OH H#*L NO !!!!" :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I almost fell over laughing :rotfl2: :rotfl2: He thought we had officially gone over the deep end :lmao: :lmao:

That's funny. He thought someone was seriously contemplating that outfit?!?! No offense to those of you that are though. :rotfl:

I really like it and it has tons of twirl factor in it. Nice job.
Also, not Disney, but I made this for ebay maybe. We're no longer Titans fans, and I had this fabric just lying around and thought I'd do something to replenish the funds that I've depleted to feed by new obsession!! Do you all think it's ebay worthy?

DSC00013.jpg

Now, I like it. I find things on ebay to be a bit fussier. However, I would still list it. It could do well. I'm going to be listing my Gators outfits soon.

Ok, I just felt like taking up a whole page with my posts! Sorry...

Do you guys think this graphic is too busy? I was thinking of putting it on a yellow shirt to match the yellow fabric I bought to match the Elvis. Any ideas (stripwork jumper? patchwork? anything?)
abby_redo_plumerianoflower.jpg

Elvis fabric I bought.

I think the graphic is a little busy -- as the others have mentioned. I also think I'd like to see the Elvis with the yellow shirt pulled out to be the Elvis on the graphic. Maybe it is just because of the picture of the fabric you posted, but the yellow one seems to be the more dominate one -- and especially if that is the yellow you're using in the skirt. I like the idea of a stripwork skirt -- vertical stripes. I think it'll be cute. I think it'd get lots of attention, too.

Can't wait to see it.

Hi all I don't mean to butt in on this interesting thread you've got going but before I joined (I mean I JUST joined) I was following this thread because I am a sewer...my DD 12 loves to sew her own clothes and I also sew...any pictures or ideas for the tween set???

I loved the swirly Mickey outfit someone made about 200 pages ago (give or take a couple dozen pages). I think it is great for that age. Shoot I've even considered making some for myself. I also love the decoupage jeans. I think they are so cute -- but grown-up, too. You can find a pic of the jeans at youcanmakethis.com. However, I don't think it is necessary to buy the pattern. If you already sew, you can probably figure out how to do this without the help of the pattern.

Well here it is. It took me a couple of days because I have been so busy but I am pretty happy with Emma's JoJo..
JoJo1.jpg

EEEK! I need to fix that left side!!!! It is way lower than the right!!! Can you tell I am a rookie??!!!

Nice job. Is that side really that much lower or is it just hanging crooked? Many of my dd' dresses have crooked hems. I figured since my dds are in constant motion that nobody would ever notice. :rotfl:

I think they turned out cute, but I hear you. My oldest is almost 8, and almost everytime I call her in to look at an outfit she says she likes it. Then I ask, would you wear it? She says no. She thinks they're cute for her little sister. I has to be both the right fabric and pattern, huh? It really is a tough age.

Have any of you used the simplicity Hannah Montana pattern? I don't sew but my MIL does & I was going to ask her to make DD some clothes for Christmas. Since she has a love of all things Hannah right now, I thought the pattern would be perfect. TIA!

I haven't seen these yet. How did I miss them? I've had my nose in a pattern book almost every week it seems. I'll have to look for it. While my oldest has outgrown wanting to wear princesses and Mickey, she, too, loves Hannah. I have a pink t-shirt that I've been wanting to fancy up a bit. I'm thinking of doing a pair of red lips with a finger over them. You know the SHHHHhhhhh sign that Hannah does? I couldn't do the whole face -- nor would I want to. If I did just that though, do you think people would "get" it? Or would I have to add her name, too?

Hi Everyone!! Love all the new creations! Looks like everyone has been busy! Well I got the mermaid outfit done. I gave it to my friends DD tonight, and she is in the bottom picture wearing it.

I like it with the mermaid fabric, and I'm so glad they are pleased, too. I think the jeans are great. Nice work.

Well, my oldest is trying to teach me to defeat the Cogs on ToonTown, so that is on the schedule for today. Hopefully, I'll get some sewing in, too. Have a great day everyone.

WOW!!! Page 400! Keep up the inspiration ladies!!! DH is going to a conference for 2 days so I will either have a lot of time to sew or very little.. I can't wait to see what everyone's creations are today!

This is adorable! Great Job! The appliques on the jeans look great and the ruffle at the bottom looks good. I love the rick rack on the bodice.

Awesome Job!!! :woohoo:

I wanted to share some photos of the apron top showing how I cut the pattern. This way the princesses will be right side up at the bottom of the front and back.

This is the pieces cut out with a little extra fabric at the top for a seam allowance. The first thing I will do is stitch it back together (right sides together) before adding the bias tape.

I would wear it! I want to make one in that style for Arminda. I will look for that pattern. Thanks!

I was thinking that too, I would wear that Pooh top!

I think it's ok, because it's big enough to wear a t-shirt under it when it gets colder. I think it came out very cute!

Thanks for the pictures! That fabric looks like it will be adorable as an apron top.

For any of you looking for jeans for your boutique outfits and applique projects, I wanted to let you know that our Old Navy's clearance has a lot of jeans. The kids's sizes seem to be mostly $3.97 per pair. Couldn't believe I got DS four pair of Jeans for $15.88!!!!!

Also, I found the super cute colored Mickey buttons (in the lime green, pink, yellow, etc.) at Wal-Mart this morning. I know someone had listed that they got theirs at Jo-Ann's, but wanted to let everyone know that Wal-Mart's scrapbooking department had them today as well!

Happy Shopping!

Well I did it! My first sewing attempt in 20 yrs. Please be honest!!!

It looks good, Amerumi! I love that fabric! I still haven't seen it at any of the stores in my area.

Hi Girls, boy it feels like forever since I've posted. A quick update on me...LOL, my brother is moving in with me, and I've had to clear out a room and paint it a more boyish color. So that meant, moving bunk beds, dressers, a closet full of clothes and tons of toys. So needless to say, I'm exhausted!!
So I'm sorry if I haven't answered all of my PM's lately.
Anywho, I got 2 new hairbows in the mail today and I'm thrilled.

I'm not sure how it looks IRL (sometime's pictures can be deceiving), but it actually appears to be a great fit. I wouldn't change a thing. It's darling. Good work!!
