Thank you so much. There is just one place (CHH) where she woudl rather have something (Shrimp) off the regular menu. Will they just let you order 3 adult meals? and it just takes 3 CS credits? If we go there a few times i don't want to end up having to order kids meals for all 3 of us the last couple days.

The credits aren't separate for QS but you can't order more adult meals than you have on your reservation at one time. So if your band shows 2 adults 1 child you can't order 3 shrimp meals. If you order a few meals here and there through the trip it doesn't count adult vs kids it's just on a per meal basis.

This isn't true at all. My MIL was using up to 6 CS credits at a time on her trip a couple weeks ago even though it was just her and my SIL on the reservation. They hadn't used their credits for various reasons and were scrambling to use them up over just a couple days. It wasn't an issue at all.

Also even though all she had was adult credits, it wasn't a problem to order kids meals. And the band doesn't show anything. It's not a key card with anything written on it.

If it's just adults on your reservation then yes you can order more adult meals. When you have kids on your reservation though they restrict it to be sure kids are getting kids meals. It comes up on the computer when they scan the band just like when they scan the card. Some CMs are more lenient about this but one should expect that they will have to follow the rules and order kids meals for kids. Adults ordering kids meals with adult credits is not a problem but kids ordering adult meals is. None of this changed with the bands it's just not as obvious to the guest but at QS they never seemed to look at the cards they just swiped them and looked at the screen to see if you had the right things for your dining plan or needed to pay for some OOP or with snack credits etc.

Thanks @delmar411, I'm building a spreadsheet (sad i know but helping sp much with my planning) that we will be using 1 quick service meal for our breakfast each day (4 used in total) and all having one TS meal each per day ( 4 in total) thus allowing me to use 8 credits per person for when we do the dining with the princesses.

When ordering any food do I have to state if I am using the dining plan or not? For example on our first night we will arrive in Orlando about 4 pm. once we get to CBR we will just order some pizzas from the food court and pay for them using $$ rather than wasting our dining plan credits.

You said it's 3A and 1C. You have 4 TS and 4 QS per night. With your plan above, you will not have enough for the princess dinners unless you do not eat one night TS or go out of pocket.

You could order 3 QS adult meals per time and share with your child (not sure how old the kid is). This will save you one QS per day. Therefore after 3 days, you'll have enough extra entitlements to have two QS meals in the day and no TS meals.

Then, you'll be able to use 2x TS entitlements per person for the princesses dinner.

Adults can order kids menus without issue. Kids cannot order adult menus. This is different.

A party of 2A 2C can only order up to two adult QS meals at a time. But mom can order two adult meals, and dad can order two adult meals. Some CMs are nice enough to process two transactions at a time but they should not. Still the system only tracks the number of QS meals.

Question, I didn't see refreshment port on the list of no kids meals. Granted the only thing they offer are chicken breast (8) nuggets but I would still think you could get the nuggets for one kids QS credit (as well as a dessert).

i will be traveling to disney for the first time with a gluten free 9 year old. I know they can make her gf mac n cheese or give her a gf bun for her hot dog, but she doesnt eat most of the things that will be available to her. She eats well, just not the typical kids fare. No pbj, nuggets, etc. what id like to do is just pay for adult dining plan for her. Can anyone tell me if this is allowed? I know it costs more, but i cant see sitting down to food she enjoys and making her eat stuff she hates.

Yes you can but you have to change her age to 10 and pay for an adult ticket to the park as well.

So does the MB only allot for a certain number of QS for adults and children, or are they all lumped together as QS. If that is the case, then a child can order an adult menu item - assuming they are not standing in line next to you .
Would Disney allow for adult food for an 8year old during free dining - if you upgraded to an adult ticket? Do you request this or change your child's age? What would be the price difference for a 7 night stay - assuming free dining package?

Credits are lumped, but the system knows how many adults and children are on the plan. So if your account is listed as 2 adults and two kids, you cannot order 3 adult meals.

Yes, they allow you to upgrade during FD. The total price difference is only $21 with FD. You are only paying for the upgrade on the ticket.
They won't question it. Just tell them that you would like your child to be shown as an adult so they can order off of the adult menu. He can order off the adult or kids menu if he wants
I have a grandson that is going with us this year and he is only 6 but he eats like an adult so I will be asking him to be shown as an adult. His 10 year old brother is totally opposite and will probably rather eat off the kids menu but I am not taking the chance. $21 is definitely worth it

Yes ma'am, you can split a TS. I normally always split with someone in my family. The only thing you are not allowed to split is a buffet

It's not just buffets.

You also cannot split at family style all you can eat restaurants (like 'Ohana or Garden Grill), fixed price restaurants (CRT or Akershus), dinner shows (Hoop De Doo, Spirit of Aloha or Mickey's Backyard Barbecue) or if you select all you can eat options like the platter at Whispering Canyon.

In addition, Via Napoli does not allow guests on the dining plan to share credits. They require that each dining plan guest use a credit.

What a child can and can't order is not at issue here - Disney has specifically stated that children must order from the children's menu unless there is no children's menu. That is why there is a policy on the restaurant board that using children's credits in other ways can't be discussed. So no, a child cannot order an adult menu item, unless the restaurant has no children's menu. The cashiers are supposed to allow ordering according to how many adults and how many children are on the plan. It's not about whether you CAN order adult meals or not, you shouldn't, and this board sticks with that rule.

If you register your child as 10 years old, that child will be on the adult dining plan. You will pay the difference between the child and adult plan (unless you have a free dining package) and between the child and adult park ticket if you are purchasing tickets as part of a package.

If you have the free dining package, the difference will be between only the adult and child park ticket.
