Our dd will be 7 when we sail (still ages but enjoying the planning!). She is pretty clued up for her age, and I was wondering whether she would automatically have to join the 3 - 7 year olds, or whether she could join the next club if that proved to be better suited to her?

Does anyone else have any experience of a child joining an older club, or is it just better to leave alone?

Hi, I have moved my daughter up a level. THey usually want the child to be within one month of the age, but they do make allowances. It was explained to me, that it was on a trial basis, and if it did not work out, then she would move back down...It worked out beautifully, and we understood perfectly. Just talk to the counsellors, they are wonderful, and most helpful...

HTH :goodvibes

Thank you! When I register her online, I guess I will have to register her with correct age group? I suppose with the only recent addition of online registration, this won't have been tested, but I assume that the system won't allow you to book into a group outside of the child's age range.

I'd leave her in the club ... they divide them up 3-4 and 5-7. My granddaughter was 7½ when we cruised, she LOVED the club and her brother and cousin (9 and 10) thought the club looked more interesting than the lab, LOL!

Cissy especially loved being able to dress up in the evenings ... so give the club a try. Cissy is very disappointed that she'll be too old for the club when we cruise again in December.

It will depend on the activities your daughter enjoys. My 7 1/2 year old only wanted to go to the Club when they were in the Lab. She though the Club was very young in its decor and activities. If we were on longer than the 4 day, I would have moved her up. On the first day, let her look at both clubs and the Navigators for each and see which interests her more.

Hi
I'm a little confused. Can you register you children in the clubs
online? I read that that should be the first thing to do once you
board the ship...now I'm reading you can register them online.
Please advise. Thanks

Registering online for Kids Clubs, spa, palo's and excursions is a recent (within the last week or so) improvement to the DCL website so you're not going crazy just missed the info. No more RESSIE RUSH :cheer2:

My son, who is used to being around older kids, found the 5-7 group boring, so next cruise I paln to bump him up-even though he is only 7. I think the counsellors want the kids to be happy and comfortable, so if your child can handle the older group, ask.
My friend had her then 7 year old in the 8-9, and the next year when she was 8, they allowed her in the 10-12, because that was where she was most comfortable.
