Hi all! My trip is coming up in 13 days and I have a feeling I'll be posting like crazy until then:rotfl: !! This is my first trip with my DD3 1/2 and I haven't been in a long time either, so lots of questions!

My 1st question is this- I've read all about the Fairy Godmother's and the in-house babysitting, but we will be staying off-site :sad1: to save money, and I know they are only for resort guests.

Are the kid's programs/ kid's clubs the same? I saw on the WDW website that there are several clubs for children of a certain age (4?) at some of the resorts and I would love to just have a couple of hours to hang out with the adults!! You all know how hard shopping is with a preschooler:scared:

If they are only for resort guests, any ideas for safe reliable child care? I'm not ok with just calling a nanny line and having someone I don't know come to the hotel to watch my daughter (the Fairy Godmothers would be another thing, they are SO HIGHLY recomended by all of you!!:) )

Thanks a bunch!!

Fairy Godmothers is not only for resort guests. We stay offsite and have used them many times - with great success! I'm almost certain that the Disney kids clubs are also available to anyone, but we've never used them.

Unless something has changed, the WDW Kids Clubs are only for the use of WDW resort guests. It's moot anyhow, as children have to be at least four and 100% toilet trained to use the WDW kids clubs.

On the other hand, Fairy Godmothers will go to rental villas.

Once your child turns four you can get two hours of free childcare at the Dolphin's Kids Club with a dinner reservation at Shula's or Blue Zoo. Advance reservations required, and you do'nt ahve to be staying at that hotel.

I believe Fairy Godmothers does go offsite. And you can check out kids nite out and kidsniteout.com. I believe they go offsite as well.

According to Fodor's, the WDW kids clubs are available to off site guests. WDW resort guests DO get first crack, however. Reservations are made through the resort housing the particular kids club.

Just as an FYI, Fodors is often wrong. I believe they also say pool-hopping is OK. It's not a book I would rely on for the most up-to-date and accurate info.

KinderCare does accept a limited number of walk-in's a day, although they aren't open in the evening.

I imagine that if they are accepting off-site kids, it's on a walk-in basis only, and there's no guarantee that there would be space. Not something I'd risk if you've got dinner reservations. I do know that most of the kid care places book solid in advance in busier months.

That said, the Kids' Clubs aren't going to help the OP. Her daughter is only 3 1/2, and the minimum age is four due to the restrictions on thier state license.

Perhaps another person searching on the word "babysitting" would have a 4yr old and find this information helpful?

When I called for reservations for La Nouba I was asked by the person booking my reservation, "Do you need babysitting?" I said, "I'm staying off-site". She said, "That's fine. The kid's clubs are open to everyone". Was she wrong, too?

This is from allearsnet.com which is a great site for info.

I've heard that some Walt Disney World resort hotels have special clubs that provide child care. Which ones? And what are the services they offer there?

Some deluxe resorts offer child care services on-site for Disney resort guests. In some cases these services are also available to off-site guests. (Call to determine availability.)

GENERAL CONDITIONS: The following conditions apply to most Walt Disney World resort hotels' kids' clubs, but are subject to change at any time. Call first if you have any questions or to verify specifics.

Age: Childcare is provided for children over age 4 who are potty-trained, through age 12. Resorts will not make exceptions.

Hours: 4:30 p.m. to midnight, with some exceptions.

Oh, we know how informed all the people at CRO are. :lmao:

Like the one who once tried to tell me that Illuminations was the name of the MK fireworks. :confused3

But it doesn't really matter, as the OP's child is only 3 1/2, and the minimum age for the kids clubs is four. They don't make exceptions.
