The last time we sailed, I signed my DD into the club as soon as we boarded the ship. She went one time and didn't really like it. And she really hated having to wear the band on her wrist. Do they still use these? So this time, I was thinking about not checking her in until the day she wants to go - if she wants to at all. Can we do that or do we have to sign her up the day we board during the open house? Thanks!

I'm not an expert (we/ve only been once a year ago) but depending on the age of your daughter, it is really a great idea to have that bracelet and pager.

The bracelet has valuable information if they get lost, which happened to my son last year when he was 5. Also, in case of emergency, the life boat information is on it. If there really was a call to go to lifeboats, it would not be the calm going down the steps it is in the drill, and there is a very real possibility of getting separated. With the arm band, it tells the crew which station you are at so you can be reunited.

back on our 7/03 cruise we got DD signed in for the club and got the pager in the port waiting area before we boarded the ship

I know the wrist bands are valuable. I am not saying I don't want them. Just asking if they still use them. But my main question is, do we have to sign her up when we board the ship or can we sign her up a few days into the cruise???

I believe you can register kids anytime. I know that we saw kids being registered our last day (which was an "at sea" day) on the four day cruise.

i would register asap. if they are still doing in the terminal i would do it then. you can get the wristband at anytime after that. they will hand you a working pager to let you know if kids need parents

We returned last night :( from the 7-day Easter cruise. Both my kids were registered in the clubs though it seems that only children in the 8-9 age group and younger are required to wear the wrist bands. My older son in the 10-12 group only needed his card to check in and out.

Do they have the option of putting it on their ankles or wrists? I know for a fact that the second she walks out of the club she will rip it off...even at amusement parks she wont keep the darn things on, she hates things on her wrists but she can deal with it on her ankles.

When did they offer kid's club sign up at the terminal? That would have been great! Our 7 night in Nov. 2002 and our 3 night in nov. 2003 didn't offer this...

Skybaby, which date in May are you sailing the Magic, and how old is your DD?

We're on the May 29th Eastern cruise, and our 9 year-old DD does not like the clubs (actually, she's in the lab now) or lab either. Maybe we can get them together?:D (If we're on the same cruise.)

Is it routine for them to offer Kids Club sign in at the terminal? I would LOVE to do this while waiting to board. (My husband is going to be so irritated when I give him the gameplan as we board: "Ok, you take the kids and register them, I'll go for spa reservations, HURRY! Hurry!"

You can get a new writstband each time you go back. They can print them out right at the check-in area when you drop off. I would register when you arrive so that you are not delayed in entering when your DD wants to go.

It would be great to get DS-8 checked in the Oceaneer Lab at the port before we even board the ship. I would love to know if they are still doing this.

I did not see such at thing on our Wonder sailing at the end of Feburary, and this is the first post I've seen on such a thing. I'd think if it were common, more people here would have mentioned being able to check kids in at the terminal.

just back from the 4/10 magic.
you can sign them up whenever you want. they will give you a id bracelet whenever you want to check her in. takes 2 secs!!
:smooth:

Okay - my son can not stand those things - so I took it off daily - this did not make the staff that happy - but they understood....they just made him a new one when he checked in

There's no way DS-8 will wear the bracelet when he's not in the Lab. I wouldn't even want him to. It must be kind of uncomfortable especially while in the shower or swimming. I hate those things myself.

We couldn't get them off the kids. I think they had them on for a full week after they returned.
