Kid's AP's; what ID is necessary to enter parks??

We are seriously considering buying AP's for our children.

My question is.....what type of ID is necessary when entering parks for the kids w/AP's?? I know adults use the fingerprint, but do we need to carry some sort of ID for the kids and show it each time?

We've never seen them ask for any id for the kids. I've never had them need id for me, either.

DD did not need ID, there have never been any problems with hers. I have DS bring his school photo ID, but it really has never been necessary. Though they do not ask for ID each time you enter, if there is a problem with the finger scan they may ask you for photo ID.

DS (and the rest of us) have had AP's for 2 or 3 years now and have used them on several trips. DS has never been asked to show any sort of ID and he has never been finger scanned.

DH and myself always have our fingers scanned, and on occasion have had to supplement that with some other form of ID. (when the reader didn't recognize out finger scan or other minor glitch - it has never been a tragedy though.)

The only time i would bother sending ID with a child and their AP is if the child is taking their AP and going to WDW with others (family or close friends) who do not have APs. They sort of "blend" with the rest of your family if you all are entering the park with an AP. They might get questioned if entering with a group of folks who have a different type of ticket media.

Actually I found out a lot about the finger scan last month. It doesnt take your print...it measures the distance and length of your fingers. My AP kept giving me problems and they had to NT every time I went in. I finally went to guest services and they explained why. Kids dont have theirs scanned because it is constantly changing with thier growth. I think possible mine changed due to being sick while I was there and possibly bloating with heat. Hope this helps
