HELP ! ... I am taking my 6, 4 and 2 year old on the magic in April for the first time. I am prone to motion sickness and I have gotten the needle before. What can I do to prevent sickness on my wee ones? Do the doctors on board have a child strengh shot for bad cases??? HELP !

I don't know about shots, but they do have pills in the stores and at the front desk. My daughter got sick in the kids club one time and they took very good care of her until I got there. We gave her the meds and put her to bed. The next day we had better weather and she pulled out of it.

Good Luck and I hope it all goes well!

Motion sickness medications are antihistamines. You should ask your Ped what your children can take, but benedryl is very mild and should work to ward off any sea sickness. Motion sickness meds work best before you are actually sick. Otherwise, they do offer meclazine which is nondrowsy and can be found in Non Drowsy Dramamine.

We used Bonine for Children (found at our local Walmart and Kroger).

Works very well for my one who is prone to motion sickness. In addition, we take ginger candy (found at Earth Fare) and she drinks gingerale on the ship. It's not at the drink station, but any server will bring for the meals (and at other times if you explain).

I just called our pediatrician to ask what they could take. They said Bonine for kids was fine for my 8 year old but she wanted us to bring Dramamine instead for my lightweight 6 year old and DD3. At least at Target, the regular Dramamine (not non drowsy) is marked for both kids and adults and you just break the tablets for the kid dosages. We always carry Benadryl due to allergies so I suppose I'd try that too. I also bought them inexpensive seas bands at Walmart. As for me, the bands don't work and I've got a whole arsenal of supplies, including those expensive electronic "relief bands" (have to get them on ebay now) that are battery operated. :)

Benedryl can make a child very drowsy and miss the activities on the cruise. The sea bands are cheap and work great for my daughter.
