Kids age groups in Club/Lab

I'm a bit confused about how kids are grouped by age. I've read in some places that 8 year-olds are with the younger kids in the O-Club. In other places I've read they are in the O-Lab with the 9 year-olds.

Our son is 8 and will fit better with the older kids. He loves playing computer games and the Lab seems to be a better place for that. Can anyone tell me what happened to your 8 year-old on a recent trip. We'll be going on our first DCL 7-day cruise in June.

Long ago the age groupings were different, but DCL changed them along the way. They now are:

Oceaneer Club
3-4
5-7

Oceaneer Lab
8-9
10-12
