Which deluxe resort has the best activities for kids? I"m not interested in the Grand Floridian, since theirs are all pricey add-ons.

I read that the kids club at the Polynesian has a free time (parent has to stay) in the afternoon for crafts. Do the other kids' clubs do this too? Animal Kingdom lodge has some kind of cookie making thing in the afternoon. Do the other resorts offer something like this, too? I'm interested in any and all information that you can provide! Activities, schedules etc. etc. Lay it on me, I'm starved for information!!!!

GF does have some free kids activities too. I know that by the themed pool they do face painting and some kids arts and crafts activities.

Is there an age range for the activities at GF ? Seems like face painting would be any age but some like pirate cruise, tea party for 4 yo plus...anything at GF for 2 yo's? thanks

Of the resorts I've stayed at, AKL has had the most wonderful offering of activities! My DD and DNieces have done the "Animal Tracking", "Junior Researcher" horticulture activities, Arts and Crafts and Savanna Games (I think that was the name). These are for guests of the hotel.
We did one arts and crafts activity together which was ornament making and there was a $5 charge. I have been SO impressed with every activity we've ever done there. Even the cookie-decorating is cute. The others are fun, interesting and educational. I cannot recommend staying at AKL highly enough! There is also the storytelling outside by the firepit and all the animals to enjoy and learn about through the Guides!

That sounds really great! I understand there are also some arts and crafts at the Polynesian. What about the other deluxes? How do they compare? So far, I'm leaning towards the AKL.

Since we tend to spend alot of time at whatever resort we are staying, AKL had the most activities and fun to explore for animals. Also, to mention BWV or BWI - they have a community hall which we love. They have a tv area, computer games, ping pong, air hockey, board games, popcorn machine and drinks, bike rentals and other recreation equipment rentals, etc. And I know they also have planned kid's activities. It is right next to the BWV quiet pool so we would go in for breaks for the kids to play around. They loved this too!

Is there an extra fee to use the community hall? That sounds nice, too. Does BWI offer arts and crafts?

There is no extra fee for the community hall for guests staying there. Although there's a fee for bike rentals, dvd or video rentals, pool floats, and possibly other recreation equipment. The community hall is a nice hidden feature there that I don't hardly read much about. We didn't get involved in many of the crafts they had but I do believe they did them and not sure of fees. I think there are pictures of it on allearsnet.com.

I wonder if there are any other hidden gems for kids at the resorts? Please chime in!
