Kids Activities

This is our family's first cruise ever (4 day in May), and I have 2 kids, 10 and 5. How are the kids activities arranged? Is it first come first serve basis? or do you also have to make reservations when you board? I've heard some advice to book them on an activity the first night so they can meet new friends, but what if these friends don't end up with them next time? How often do they have activities? Ar ethe activities pre-scheduled like the dinner rotation? Also, how do the couselors get in touch with the parents when the kids have to be picked up?

They only allow enough reservations for your age group. For example, if they already had enough reservations for your your 5 yr old group, they wouldn't accept anymore. When you board, you can go to the club and fill out the paper work (not much). You will receive your pager than. You can put your kids in the club as much or as little as you want. YOu don't sign up for activities, you just show up. If you want to know more about what the kids do, you can look at some of the navigators at

No reservations needed. Basically, you can go to the kids clubs once you board the ship or anytime after that. DCL knows how many kids are on board.

When we checked in, they asked you for the cabin number and your kids name will appear on the computer. Once checked in your younger child will be given a wrist ban and the older child will not have one. They will give you a pager, and then some basic information. That is all you need to do.

BTW, pick up a child Navigator when you check in then, you childeren can start planning their activity.
