Kidnapping at WDW

Our local news is reporting that a couple got kidnapped walking to a parking lot at DW and was forced to make 3 withdrawls with their ATM/Credit cards and plopped off in a remote location.

I guess WDW vacationers would be a prime target cause no one goes there without money....

I think that on vacation people tend to let down their guard and pay less attention to their surroundings. I think you have to be aware of what's around you no matter where you are. I hope the people are okay.

i get parinoied enough..this is not helping me. At least we are gona be with in disney world and resorts the whole time and taking the buses...im gona make sure my fionce has his cane with us and i sware if some stupid ppl try stuff well they will be hurting

Thanks for all your concerns. The girl is my cousin - they are both doing very well and no major injuries. Makes you really think - it can happen to anyone at any time. Please be careful.

Thanks LisaNJ25 for posting the news story link. Yikes! That is really crazy. Its disgusting that there are people out there preying on folks. I guess that is why I tend not to watch the news-I get so sick of hearing about this type of stuff, it is just senseless. I do hope they catch those lowlife thugs.

We always use Disney Transporation. Door to door.

Since Downtown Disney was built around locals, I'm actually shocked we don't hear more mugging type stories. Disney resort properties (and parks) are gated...

RUMOR AND INNUENDO ALERT: I read on another message board from someone who supposedly knows somebody that supposedly knows somebody else close to the situation that there is more to this story than what appears on the surface. I don't know anyone involved and am not trying to cast aspersions on richiediz's cousin or anyone else involved.

i just hope that the ppl who got kidnapped are alright and that they will not blame disney for it and that the guy is cought and put away for extra long time for dareing to mess up some ones disney trip.
If there is more to the stroie i hope that the cops get it all and that the media dosne..cops need to have privicy to catch crooks and the media dosnet give cops the room they need.
