I think the Disney food blog has information about previous years' events so that might be a good place to start....

Good idea! There's so much info. When you went during the Fall, did you go to F&W and if so what did you enjoy most? When I started planning, I thought there were maybe a dozen extra food booths. I had no idea it was this big.

And as if FP and arrival times weren't stressing me out .......

I'm giddy. DH and I definitely want to do a course/seminar/dinner of some sort but how to choose??? :upsidedow

Well we are doing the Flying Fish dinner Viva Italia. I'm glad I already booked that one because it was really the only one that appealed to me during the time that I'm there. I need to run the events past Fran, but I'll wait until she is in a better mood. I was thinking about one of the lunches, the Italian beer pairing one sounds good, but so does the tequila in Mexico.

Thanks for posting the Kiosk listing, I haven't been on much today, NOW to start planning!

Ahhh kiosk! The correct name was escaping my feeble brain. ;) I can't drink tequila anymore unless it's in a margarita. It gives me the worst heartburn regardless of quality. There's something in it that doesn't agree with me.

The Italian beer one is the one Michael most wants to do. If I remember correctly, that's on Tuesdays I think. We've got two to choose from so that's good. He loves beer. The Morocco one looks good too. PFTS is out of the question. And what event cost $495 per person? :faint:

The earlier flight would cost me $100 more per person. Not sure I'm willing to invest another $600 into this trip. ;) I did find out though that the AoA will hold our luggage and transfer to THV in the morning so I won't have to deal with bell services at all the night we arrive. :woohoo: The bags were stressing me out with such a late arrival but now it's a non issue which makes me VERY happy. No schlepping or waiting. I'll just pack a carry on with pjs and one outfit per person for the following day. :rotfl2: This way we can just arrive and deal with my one carry on, or maybe two, I can have DH pack one too. Then it won't be temping to dive into our bags that first ninth and have to repackage the next morning, making the one night stay so much easier. I know, I stress about the dumbest crap.

Yes, the kids, are stoked that they'll get some time away from us. However, they also know I'm the touring queen and if they don't want to wait in line all day, they should stay fairly close. Now that the F&W seminars and wine tastings are out, looks like we'll be ditching them for at least one event. Just trying to decide on which one. Booking is Aug 10 at 5 am MST so that should be fun. ;)

I'm so glad they are closer to you, I know how you love those little cuties! :goodvibes

Can't wait to hear how FP works for you. :hyper:

It was fabulous and went by much too quickly. How was yours? All packed?

Oh that's an excellent idea to leave your luggage with bell services. And I totally understand not wanting to invest more into the trip. Maybe the cost to switch flights will come down.

I'm sure your kids will stick with you. And I hope you get everything that you want on August 10th!

I'll see how FP goes this trip...

The weekend was so fast! I need to start packing.

The $495 one is V&A's wine dinner. They probably put truffles in every dish or some other ridiculously expensive ingredient.

That's too bad about Tequila, it's one of my favorites!!

I called SW this morning and it would cost $750 to change all 6 flights and that includes using the $11,074 miles we've got. I'd only have to pay $525 of it as my friend would have to pay for her daughter's fare change. Not sure.....that's $100 per hour...$20 per person....which looks good when I've got my Fuzzy Disney Math goggles on. pirate:

Yes, get packing!! When do you leave?

I've been pouring over the F&W options and finally sent Michael the link so he can decide. He's the foodie of the group.

The V&A dinner is as much as a cruise. :rotfl2: I'm sure it's amazing. I don't think if I had it, I'd spend it though on one meal. That's a grand before tip. :faint:

Michael enjoys it but it doesn't enjoy me. Are you doing that one for sure?

Well, I would definitely switch the flights. We paid $390 to switch our flight on JetBlue. Then we spent another $175 to get the Even More Room seats. I think it would be worth it to get in earlier.

We leave Saturday, August 11th. Our flight is at 4:30 p.m., but we're planning on getting to JFK by 2:30 so we can have a relaxing lunch.

I need to look at the F&W options. See anything you definitely want to try?

BTW, I'm still debating POR. I already paid $189 for one room there. 2 rooms at Pop would only be $39 more. And AoA would be $125 more. I need to make a decision LOL.

I'm no one to give advice on thongs that cost money, we blow through it like stupid!

Nothing is for sure for F&W for us. I need to bring up the idea of events. I made the cynical remark about not registering because we would just have to cancel so now she thinks we don't need to sign up for any. We have a Tuesday the overlaps that we could possibly do the Italian beer lunch, but gain I have to check if she would be interested in any of these.

Any word on August 16th?

I agree about switching but not sure I can get the hubster on board. ;) I think it's worth it too. When I called they said that there were seats but as it gets closer, flights will continue to rise. :hyper: I know exactly what's going to happen. I'm going perseverate until they go up and end up doing it anyway....so why not do it now?!

You haven't completely decided on a room on arrival night? :rotfl2: I think you've got 5 days to cancel, right, because it's not a package?

I've only glanced but am going to read what I printed off during Joshua's soccer practice. I've got 90 minutes to kill. I printed off some stuff posted the the F&W mega thread.

AoA. It's new. The end. pixiedust:

I would just make the switch now. If the price goes down, you can always get a credit.

I have POR booked, but not 100% sold on it. The newness of AoA is really quite tempting. My big concern is not having enough time there. We'd get in late and leave in the morning for BCV.

Ohhh you can start planning which booths to hit during F&W. Are there a lot of specialty drinks at the booths as well?

Remind me not to ask DH what he thinks when he's tired. Oy.

True about the booths- there is a lot to plan. :rotfl2: I've read it's *best* to do 3-4 booths per day over the course of the trip. I really like that idea too. I'd love to hit every booth and nosh a ton. If we do the 3-4 a day then we should be able to really try it all. I didn't realize how huge the festival is so our Raglan Road date night might get ditched for some extra adult time in Epcot.

You're right, I should switch now. I'm going to anyway. The games we play on ourselves. :p

We only have one night too. POR will be fine for a night. Just remember the rooms are small and you'll have all that luggage unless ou keep it at bell services like we are. What time will you arrive at your resort?

I didn't know it was such a huge festival. Wow! You can just eat lunch and dinner at the booths.

Disney planning games :rotfl:

The size is what makes me want to switch to AoA or 2 rooms at Pop.
Our flight lands at 7:30 p.m. and we have to pick up our rental car at the airport. So, I figure we should be at the resort by 9.

9:00 sound about right if youre landing at 7:30. Still a little time though to explore some. Your time zone is the same so I guess it depends on the kids normal bedtime. AoA doesn't have a bar though or lounge or TS which is why I'd never stay there for more than a night.

That's what I was thinking about lunch and dinner. I need to look at my itinerary and see what Epcot days we've already got planned.

The boys will probably sleep on the plane and be wired once we arrive. I don't think I'd stay at AoA for more than a night because of the space. DVC has spoiled me!

Wait...no bar?!? I was hoping for an arrival cocktail!

Eating around the WS during F&W beats any ADR!!!

I just checked out your PTR and excited to see that you and your family are going to WDW during the Halloween season. Hope you have a great time during the Halloween season and the F&W Festival in a few months.

The Values don't have bars I thought? :confused3 Now I'm second guessing.

You. Are. So. Correct. Eating at F&W beats an ADR any day! Buh-bye Raglan Road....hello Italy beer pairing or Morocco wine pairing. :cheer2:

DVC has ruined the best of us. I blame Jenna. ;) She spoiled us, we bought, beginning of love affair with DVC.

:welcome: Bret! So nice to see you. We're looking forward to both. We've been to Disneyland in October and missed the Halloween Party because we didn't know about it. I promised them that the next time we had the chance we'd go. I wish they were more into the group consume idea but it'll be great and at least we'll be comfortable.

When is your next trip? :goodvibes

It's nice to hear that you are doing well. One day I know that you will be able to go back to DL during the Halloween and attend MHP. MHP at DL is great, but I have never experience MNSSHP at the MK and would like to attend it one day. It's always exciting to go on a Disney trip and hope that your kids will have a great time during the Halloween season.

My next trip is back to the DLR in just less than 2 weeks. I will be going with my DB and his GF to experience Cars Land.
