I agree. Midday seems like the best time to swim. It rains more in the evenings for some reason.
We always seemed to be trying to swim around 2-3pm and had multiple lightening issues. It's almost like we need to leave the park by 11, swim and THEN eat lunch
What can you get for 24 points though? Maybe an AKV value studio for a few nights?
I'm not sure you could get anything for more than one night and not anything more than a studio. Maybe a AKV value 1 bed for one night. Idea isn't for extra nights but for if you are short just a tiny bit of points for a full ressie. Like you need 6, or 8 or something like that to complete it.
This might be the way for me to go to not have to borrow into 2013 on the slim chance we score any CL time.
You'd need to try to buy that kind of transfer today to have it available in time for your 7 month date though, definitely something that requires planning ahead and most people selling transfer points are trying to dump a large volume. Occasionally less but...
That's for sure. Chloe asked M about the THV tonight and he said he doesn't really care where we stay. He'd like SSR near the new Paddock area but if she really wants to THV then he's fine. I'll tell you, I'm going to miss walking down to the bar when staying at SSR. That's the one things the hotel type DVC have over the more condo style. We loved that feature at the GCV. Now I'm thinking 4 nights at SSR/THV and 7 at AKV. I really love my bar time.
It's so nice to sit and relax with just DH and I.
I agree with that, although we typically make our drinks in the room. Still, nice to have that as an option!!!
That's true about the DVC/hotels......it would allow you all to be fairly close while allowing everyone to be responsible for their rooms. Which of the three would you choose? Where is the YC with regard to the BC and BW? Would that be an option?
Well, realistically based on family size and who might sleep where our best bet is probably 2, 2 bedrooms that sleep 9 or one grand villa and a couple of studios. It definitely depends on who ends up going though. The resorts, other than AKV that have easy room rentals via CRO are all 8 people 2 bedrooms and higher points, more than I'll have.
I'll have to try to get a firmer idea of who and then pose some options before I can really go a whole lot farther. Right now what might make sense, if I end up in the contract situation I'm planning on, is booking 4 nights at THV and 4 at AKV, with 2 treehouses and 2 value (if I can get it) or standard villas. That obviously assumes I have AKV points by the 11 month date lol! Then we could switch at 7 months and possibly move to VWL, BCV or BWV which then would open up lots of options for folks to join us and still have that central location. But, if we are 18, I may not have enough points for that, for 8 nights for all. I would have enough to do it all 8 at AKV but, like THV I'm not sure I want to be that far away from the parks the entire time. I don't like the idea of a 4/3 split but if we want THV and an Epcot resort...it could happen.
The other thing too is that if no one but us, is into the treehouses, I don't see any reason to book that part at 11 months. Not worried about availability at SSR, even if we do go over the 4th. Not worried about AKL either, unless we are trying for value or concierge.
So...who knows. Between now and July I'll be feeling out the fam and firming up our own contracts. My biggest concern honestly is borrowing. To book at 11 months I'll need to borrow (at 7 to for that matter) if I am getting villas for the bulk of the group. Which, if we are going is absolutely fine but there is a risk of cancellation. I'll need everyone to commit that if we do have to change summer dates, we have to do some of the trip before 12/1!
As both Halloween and Thanksgiving fall in that, though kids would miss school, it is a possible backup plan so I think it's probably low risk but...the risk is there.
Is SSR your home? You may have answered but I missed it.
I'd be happy to do what I can to book you THVs at the 11 month, if not.

Yep! That's our home.
